Diggy sat down with Honey Magazine to discuss how he faces critics, his parents’involvement, and gives his take on the Kid Cudi and Wale beef. UPDATE: After the jump, check out episode 2 of Jabari Presents with Diggy.
Many of us know Diggy Simmons from being the son of hip-hop legend Rev Run. We’ve seen him on Run’s House taking meetings with Pharrell about starting a clothing line before he even hit his teenage years.
Just over a year ago Diggy decided to let the world know that he had talents elsewhere, he wanted to make it as a rapper but without his family’s help. With the last name Simmons, and being famous before you even hit the mic, of course young Diggy is going to have a spotlight on him, but can he turn that 15 minutes into a sustainable career? In this episode of Jabari Presents he is dying to let you know that he will.

Who cares if he’s getting shine cuz of who his family is, he doesn’t suck so what does it matter? I do think it’s dumb that he gave his take on the Cudi/Wale beef. It’s beef. What else is there to know. Rappers have been doing it forever, why do I need to hear what a 15 year old kid has to say about it.

Yea Diggy’s good but I don’t really see the talent, just he knows how to flow… I think Charles Hamilton and KiD CuDi are probably the most talented rappers I’ve heard in probably the last 3 years…a shame Charles is a troubled soul cause he could definitely be making more than CuDi by now if he had his head on straight

Yea he makes good overall music (not just specifically hip hop)…not many other rappers make good music these days especially on the level of Cudis (except for Drake’s – So Far Gone and I’m not even a Drake fan)…I know Cudi aint really a mc he aint gonna hit you with multi-syllable wordplay and all that but the man is talented when it comes to putting songs together,,and yea Charles Hamilton can make crazy good music with dope production and the mc skills Cudi lacks so yea I feel bad for that man..

Why do people hate on talented people. At his age he’s pretty good. He’s not the best 15 year old rapper, but he’s decent. And when it comes to mainstream music its all about sales and being able to make a good song. Diggy can make a good song.
Sure he’s a legacy and has home field advantage, but that doesnt mean you should count him out. At this point in hiphop we cant just hate on every young rapper that comes to light. Give props where props is due.
