  11. This is a topic that always crosses my mind. A lot of these new artists that get “put on”, or get signed, you can tell by their music and their skills that they’ve never been in a cypher before. Nobody’s ever came up to them and challenged their creativity and skills. They just basically sat at home and record at a studio somewhere. No wonder hiphop sucks these days. Bunch of lames runnin around rhyming and never been surrounded by a crowd on the street, because the crowd that they know is blog commenters on the Information Super Highway.

  12. Chicago cats we cipher all the time. If someone can beatbox or has that drum bucket, we go in. Just came from one last night. Real MC’s join in, it’s where you test your skills and see who’s real. I practice freestyling in every cipher.
