During a show out in Cali the other night, Jay Elect played a portion of new song off that elusive Act II for the audience. One that he said he’s planning to drop on September 19th (his birthday). So by standard Jay Elect times, we should expect it sometime in December.

Jay Elect is dope…but in order to stay relevent you need to release new material. He has the potential to be one of those legendary dudes. But again, he needs to release an actual album before that happens.
I wish he operated off of the Gregorian calender insteadof of themuch more obscure Electronian one.
Anyway I was at this concert and it was pretty sick, the man really knows how to rock a crowd and the music of course was dope. & I actually do think Act II will come out very soon.

It’s not when we want it’s being given dates and being let down every time. First it was Christmas Day ’07, then last Christmas, then New Years and now the 19th has come and gone (though I’m not counting it out since he could be pushing to release it in the early hours of the morning). Why give a date when you can just say “it’s coming soon” and leave it at that? That’s what the fans are getting at. You rarely if ever see J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar dropping dates and not meeting them along with a few other artists.
Personally I’m not pissed, maybe a lil’ disappointed, but at the end of the day there are millions of other albums I can listen to till it drops but I can understand where some of the fans are coming from. It’s a bit discourteous to let people down again and again when it could be easily avoided regardless of whether you’re putting it off to make the project better.
Jay Electronica is a pretensious fraud. Whatever he drops for sell I’m not buying, even though at one point I said I would.
