B.o.B: MTV Unplugged (Video)

Bobby Ray is right as home as he hits the MTV Unplugged stage. Up top he performs Nothin’ On You, backed by Robin Thicke. After the jump he goes through Airplanes (w/ Melanie Fiona), Don’t Let Me Fall, Magic, and The Kids (w/ Janelle Monae).

  1. 1st! brazil wins one!

  2. haha, he has way tighter artists on this than on the album. thicke and ms. melanie fiona? awwwa man!

  3. looking for some audio up here in canada. anyone got a link?

  4. i like b.o.b i bought the album but this might be the worst unplugged i ever watched in my life i cant even lie lol

  5. wats bad about this?

  6. i think if its gonna be acoustic they need to give there keyboardist a rhodes and a piano and maybe a clav

  7. this was pretty cool. that hat needed to go tho…

  8. The whole Unplugged concept has went to shit. =/, MTV’s fucked it up. All the oldschool Unplugged sessions were classics. Now they’re just shit.

  9. p.s., dont get me wrong, I love B.o.B, mainly his old shit, album isn’t really his style to me. I’ve seen him live W/ Lupe in detroit and will see him again this Friday @ the Eminem/Jay-Z concert.

  10. I’m seeing him at the Fall Fest Festival in Buffalo. I’m not going to lie, I’m worried about his set. If he’s gonna play music from his album for all the pop dummies out there instead of playing the far superior mixtape tracks I really will lose a lot of faith in B.o.B. It’s not even like his mixtape tracks have no commercial appeal but who knows with bob.

  11. Man, this was off the chains. I wish people would stop popping that noise about “pop” this and that. B.o.B is just a well-rounded artist, not boxed into, well, a “box’ of what “hip-hop” is supposed to be, and his album reflected that. There always needs to be a balance, and that’s what it was.

People act like he wasn’t singing or making “weird” music on his mixtapes too. “Cloud 9″ was definitely that. I think some people are just so fickle with their tastes and always want to complain about something instead of just enjoying good music.

  12. @M. Hannah

Nah, this nigga sold out to get his album released.

  13. B.o.B. is a beast!!

  14. @yeah

he sold out to make some good music and some money while you continue to post on blogs.

  15. His sets have a good mixture of his mainstream and mixtape songs. I’ve seen him twice (with Lupe and at Bonnaroo) and he played a handful of songs from Who the Fuck is B.o.B and B.o.B vs. Bobby Ray

  16. Seeing him play the Guitar is dope glad to see someone actually play the guitar other than lil wayne.

  17. LOL @ how he started playing “kids” after “the kids”

  18. Where’s the audio?

  19. stringer bell on the drums.

  20. BTW, after seeing this I am confident in saying that when it comes to vocal performance( not including lyricism and the writing aspect) BOB is one of the best in the game in a long time. breath control, flow, projection, delivery, cadence, dude has it down damn near perfectly. Compare this performance to dudes like kanye, nas and jay-z. While they are some of the greatest i think B.o.b is on their level if not better in terms of what I was just talking about. well when performing anyway. anyone feel me?

  21. @ yeah

how can you say the dude sold out… in case you haven’t noticed he is not a rapper… hes an ARTIST….. some people lose sight of that smh… ignorant ass ppl

  22. nice stringer reference ha. these lazyass people need to stand up and dance. live music isn’t meant to be a sit back and relax affair. i agree 100% with youkj on his vocal prowess on the mic. It’s cdq that you sometimes never get at live shows. I wouldn’t off and crown him better than anyone persay but he is very real live. HOV to me is at the top in shows.

  23. @Adomhussaine, his first album isn’t really his style? have you heard all of his mixtapes? Their identical to his album as far as balance and diversity.

@yeah, how the hell did Bobby Ray sell out? I’ll ask the question again….have you listened to all of his mixtapes? His album is just as balanced as all of his mixtapes.

  24. Don’t Let Me Fall, Ghost in the Machine and Satellite are his top 3 tracks to me. You know what they all share? They are all produced by the man himself, B.o.B. You fags say he sold out, but some of his most radio friendly, good feeling music is his own produced music. That’s not selling out, that’s his most real music. He can be radio friendly and down to earth/out in space as he wants.

  25. yeh he did sell out i mean he still got dope rhymes but that album wasnt hip-hop or rock it was pop

  26. what’s good with some mp3s?
