(2)Deep: Boogiemonsters – Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress x Honeydips In Gotham [1994]

They don’t make ‘em like this anymore… Too bad they had one okay album. Who could forget this sample?

  1. dope dope dope post
and that sample by the meters is a classic yea put a smile on my face

  2. I Still Have The Tape To This In A Box IN My Room Great Post

  3. i don’t know, but they still sound wack to me

  4. The God sound album wasn’t that bad. It would get hella rotation in the day. Anyhow Shake can u fix that Dub Kweli link. Shit is busted and I never got t
    2 peep that

  5. good looking, know-one!! this isht takes me back. it came out when i was in 10th grade and i bumped it hard. i used to throw on “honeydips in gotham” and pretend i was all sorts of suave with the ladies. they usually figured out how un-suave i was when odb’s “don’t u know” came on after it on my homemade tape.

  6. I’m sure I’m one of few who actually had this album…copped it from a video game spot who sold cd’s for like $3. I had to be like 15 when I copped it along with A.I.D.S compilation featuring Wu, Pete Rock and hella more google it!!!

  7. ^^ That A.I.D.S. compilation is a gem for real.

  8. this was one of my favorite groups back in the day .. I won’t front I didnt buy this album til later on but I remember these videos on rap city .. man I was young head .. I remember I found out they had a VA connect I was geeked lol … I bought God Sound off the strength of these two songs .. A+ post

  9. This album used to be my shit! KNOW ONE be droppin gems on this site.. I wanna listen to Old Man Jacob’s Well now.. and that A.I.D.S. album was dope as hell too. Goodie Mob’s Blood and the Mobb Deep joint with ACD were among the standouts. America Is Dying Slowly..

  10. Yes! Couldnt find this anywhere! Big ups on the post.

  11. wow..now i feel old

that god sound was my shit!

  12. This is one of those joints you feel like only you heard (along with Hard 2 Obtain and Kwest the Madd Ladd and Questionmark Asylum)…The joint off their second one with the lunchroom table beatbox, that was shit I could relate to…and don’t forget Strange off this one (with the Cameo sample). ***geekin***

  13. sorry mayne, but this lp is significantly iller than just “okay”. shit is one of the most underrated albums to drop in that era period.

    the title cut
old man jacob’s well (one of the most ominous hip-hop tracks ever)
    mark of the beast
honeydips in gotham (that one remix of this is the shit)
    jugganots
    sweet muzic
    strange

shit is prolly top 20ish ever for me, but that’s just me.

gand god sound was ass aside from the absolutely filthy “the beginning of the end” joint that domingo laced. overall that lp was too damn preachy and having two of the members bounce didn’t help matters either.

  14. Just pulled this back out a month or two ago. Dope.

“This is one of those joints you feel like only you heard (along with Hard 2 Obtain and Kwest the Madd Ladd and Questionmark Asylum)”

  15. Yo this album is dope! I remember being fresh outta high school and living in my first apartment at the time, bumpin this shit! Life was soo much easier then..

  16. Shit is a classic.. Shout to knowxone for always dropping gems on ‘em!

  17. yea when i bought this i only liked a couple a tracks. trackstar that Kwest album was the shit.
