According to Mack Maine, the plan is to release Tha Carter IV out the same day Weezy is released from prison on November 5th. This will come after his 10-song I Am Not a Human Being EP; which hits shelves on September 27th (his birthday).
Tha Carter IV plans we had and still have are to put Tha Carter IV out the day he comes out [of prison]. He had so many songs for Tha Carter IV, we said let’s just put these 10 songs out [on I Am Not a Human Being] and double-back for Tha Carter IV. He has more songs for Tha Carter IV that are still strong.
He then goes on to speak about the song selection process (after the jump).
It’s basically me, him, Baby and Cortez Bryant mapping it out. We had a listening session out here. It was me, Baby and Cortez. I let [Wayne] know these are the ones we picked. He already picked six of them from back there. I let him hear it over the phone. I book him a studio session — kinda like I did for the Light Up up remix with Drake. I book him a studio session and let him listen [to tracks] over the phone. ‘Do you like this one?’ ‘Yeah?’
While highly doubtful, Maine also mentions that Young Money might not even release a single. Just drop the album the day Wayne gets out and that’s that. We’ll see.

My guess is he’ll have the album delayed to December by the end of next week and then to like March by the time he actually gets out.
Which makes sense, if he has any shot at a worthy follow-up to II and III then he’s gotta come correct, not just drop refurbished left-overs.
Infamous…pac didn’t have one song recorded for All Eyez On Me before he went to jail. That whole alvum was recorded adter he got out. Remember, Suge paid his bail, signed him to Death Row, then recorded.

Interscope put out 2PAC’s Me Against The World while he was in jail in 1995. Me Against The World didn’t even had a final tracklisting.
Interscope picked the songs with 2Pac, he removed all Big Stretch tracks and OK’d it. One of the best selling album at that time and still a great one.

I never understood the logic that something is right or better simply because more people like it.
