Slaughterhouse – On-Air Idiots Interview (Video)

This is a good watch. Rap’s WCW version of the 4 Horsemen talk about beats they passed up which became hits for other artists. As followed:

* Joell Ortiz – “Good Love” (which went to Sheek Louch)
* Crooked I – “How Do You Want It” (which went to 2Pac)
* Joe Budden – “I’m A Hustla” and “Bring ‘Em Out” (which went to Cassidy and T.I., respectively)
* Royce Da 5’9″ – “Renegade” (which did come out but as a mixtape/Internets cut, where the more popular version went to Jay)

Ouch. Who took the biggest L, folks? Vote after the jump….

  1. Wow Joe Budden took the L of the lifetime. Woulda stacked up on hits.

  2. They all take L’s. Buncha wannabe mainstream rappers who never will be. Except for maybe Ortiz, they’ve already peaked individually. And Ortiz voice is just annoying. 2 Cents.

*Waits for SH nerds to hurl names and call me a hater*

  3. its crazy how joe budden is the most popular person in sh. but i dont think anyone would say he is the most lyrical person in the group….

not hating… i fucks with joe the most out of sh, myself

  4. lmfao my vote is hanna montana..

^ i wouldn’t call you a hater because that word is completely played out and gay

  5. Sucks for Joe Budden, he actually wanted those beats but def jam wouldn’t pay for them, so cant really blame him

Crooked passed on how do you want it, but no telling if it wouldve been as big coming from him, most likely not

  6. @Guttersnipe…..COSIGN

Agreed and I’m a huge fan of them. I bought three copies of their SH album. Three!!! Who the fuck does that? I mean three copies!!! Not one or two but mother fucking three. I can prove it with receipts and everything.

  8. I’d still like to hear Joell on Good Love…that beat was TIGHT

  9. I cant picture joe budden giving Bring Em Out beat any justice. This beat is too hard for him to flow on. I mean joe is lyrical but his diction fucking sucks. He aint got no flow. same for imma hustla beat

Renegade got famous because Jay-Z took an L from Eminem on that beat (mostly because jay-z couldnt ride the beat properly – I dunno why people keep saying he has got one of the best flows in the game – but E put jay to sleep on that). It wasnt due to the fact that beat was sooo dope. Just a solid heavy beat.

  10. damn joe would have been sick on bring em out

  11. sorry, joey.

  12. royce not getting to release renegades before jay, didnt really hurt him that much. its a classic track, but it wouldve been a great underground song (like boom) where eminem killed it and that other guy was pretty good too.

instead it went on the blueprint as one of jay’s best songs on one of his best albums, and eminem is still noted to have had the better verses.

  13. Whose ass do I have to kiss to get a picture on the right?

  14. Lame. people are saying joe budden because its joe budden. not because he took the biggest L

  15. Remember that Jay/Cassidy beef over the I’m hustla beat? imagine how things would have turned out if it was Joe?

  16. Nobody gives a fuck about being mainstream anymore. Like Joel said theres so many avenues now.

  17. id feel like a real loser if i turn down “how do you want it”! POOR OL crooked i

  18. Joe took an extra L when he got ethered by Lil B..smh

  19. Joey just didn’t want Jay’s voice on any of his singles

  20. I just couldn’t imagine anyone but Tupac on the How Do U Want It track. Hmm.

I disagree 100%. I voted that Joe took the biggest L. Think about it…. Pump It Up is like a low budget version of those songs put together. And that song is what made him known on the radio. So in fact HE TOOK the biggest L.

  22. eminem murdered you on your own shit!

  23. Who cares

  24. They Wouldnt Had Blew Up Anyway If They Took The Beats Anyway, iMean Cmon Son! They Dnt Wanna Be Mainstream Anyway, So Who Cares.

  25. I’m very glad Crooked passed on How Do U Want It beat.

  26. @mystalkerisfat nigga pump it up came out b4 ima hustler and bring em out
those would have been follow up tracks if he got them
wanna be mainstream????? that nigga gay 2

  27. None of the above, because none of those songs were hits, ‘cept maybe “How Do You Want It”.

  28. Jean Grae should be the 5th memeber of SH (or Ras Kass) Can Em really murder Jay on a soong when his verse was already recorded and Jay ADDED HIS VERSE? I voted that Budden took the biggest L but Id Def Jam wouldn’t pay for the tracks is that his fault?

  29. Most definitely Royce. I could actually understand if you passed on a beat like I’m A Hustla (to me, the hook made it). But Renegade?! Come on, that’s an amazing beat.

  30. ^ Totally agreed, twinsking. That was pretty much Em’s song. He produced it, and he had already recorded it several years earlier. You can’t murder someone on their own shit if it’s YOUR shit.

  31. how did Crook get so many votes?!? that fool wasnt gon do nothing with that beat. Joel shoulda been 2nd if not #1. Cause like one a’ you said, that beat actually fit him.

  32. They could still freestyle over the beats and rip shit apart.

  33. I would say Joe Budden took the biggest L because he actually WANTED those beats. The fact his label wouldn’t let him have it, I’d consider that a bigger than just passing up a beat. Then to see those beats end up becoming hits with the rappers they were given too adds insult to injury.

    -

Royce probably gets second place since he already had the verses laid out with Em, but let it go anyway. And I do agree it became famous because of the opinion that Em beat Jay on the song.

    -

Crooked gets third simply because that song was so big back then. I agree with him saying that it might not have been as big if it was in his hands.

    -

Joell takes the smallest L. It’s a good beat, but didn’t get the level of exposure than the other songs on the list.

  34. joe budden obviously took the biggest L.. I enjoyed the FUCK out of both of those songs and he probably would have another album out on def jam if he did get those beats.. he would have ripped “Imma Hustla” better than cassidy anyway..

  35. Ay I believe Crooked took the biggest L because its fucking 2pac

  36. Joe took the biggest L cuz his labeled fucked him outta the beat and thats wroooooooooooonnngg!

  37. Joe obviously took the biggest L b/c those were two huge records that would’ve work w/ him on them & had he had both of those there might have never been a SH, lol.

  38. I would hate to see Hannah Montana in SH because I think it would ruin my fantasy of being the pig in the logo.

  39. Without question Joe Budden took the biggest L, he could have easily rapped over both of those beats since they were more popular for their hooks anyway.

  40. First off I am massively SMHing at Crooked for saying he had How Do Want It. Dude was in diapers when Pac ripped that beat apart. Crooked is just trying to be something he is not. Just cuz he was on a label that Tupac was once on does not mean he was labelmates with same success. I just lost a shit load of respect for crooked I for saying that isht. Oh at BTW….Royce would have been abused if he rhymed over renegade with Jay and Eminem. Nother clown that thinks he is bigger then what he is. Smh at Joe Budden for pretending he could have had those beats. Why because the Jay was on your Def Jam NoOtz? Give me a brake. This video just proved how much of a bunch of wanna be no bodies slaughterhoes are. SMHH…SMH SMH SMH SMH

  41. It’s crazy that You said 4Horsemen. I was just saying how dope a Four Horsemen X Slaughterhouse collaboration would be yesterday on the chat box for Joe Budden with XXL.

  42. ROBBIE MAYNARD, crooked i was like 18 when Pac released how do you want it…and signed to virgin records,so he could have easily had a chance to hear the beat and make a song to it. Royce would also beast Jay on any beat…any…You just a Haaaaater. SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH SMH

  43. Robbie Maynard The III, DO YOUR FUCKING RESEARCH before you say inaccurate shit.

Crooked I was on unreleased 2Pac songs BEFORE How Do You Want It was even created.

The original Renegade was supposed to be on the ORIGINAL version on Royce Da 5’9′s Rock City that Eminem was going to be Exec. Producer of, but because of the D12 beef, Eminem gave it to Jay-Z.

Now please go back to kissing Lupe Fiasco’s ass

  44. lol ah man joe budden could his career have been any worse lol

goes to show there is a talent for picking beats and making hits slaughterhouse once again proved they belong on the outskirts lookin in lol
next slaughter album is going double wood hahahahahahahah

  45. yo its not Joe’s fault DefJam are assholes lol…
imo Pac made the song good without him.. take Pac away thats a wack beat

  46. Last! I get last word. Slaughterhouse suxx. None of these wrappers could even pick a halfway decent beat. just listen to their garbage album. SMH at stans brainwashed by Slaughterhouse.

  47. NO ROBBIE, I GET THE LAST WORD. SMH AT YOU…

YOU KNOW WHAT’S WORSE THAN NIGGAS HATING ON MAINSTREAM NIGGAS… NIGGAS HATING ON UNDERGROUND NIGGAS CAUSE THEY AIN’T SELLING RECORDS LIKE THE MAINSTREAM NIGGAS YET YOU STILL FEEL LIKE YOU GOTTA TALK SHIT WHEN YOUR ABOVE COMMENTS AREN’T VALID NOR INACCURATE AT ALL.

AND IF YOU ARE THE LUPE DICK SUCKER LIKE THE NIGGA SAID ABOVE, THAN YOU ARE CONTRADICTING YOURSELF CAUSE LUPE’S BEAT SELECTION ON THE COOL ALBUM WAS NOWHERE NEAR BETTER THAN THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE ALBUM, AND I AIN’T NO STAN CAUSE I ONLY MESS WITH ROYCE AND JOELL.

  48. A lot of you people are really gay with joe buddens

  49. None of em. Except maybe Ortiz took an L. Everyone that made their track with their beat did their thing. I couldn’t picture anyone else on How do you want it besides Pac. And as corny as I think Renegade is with Jay and Em, thats their shit. Cassidy did his thing with that shit, thought I wasn’t feelin that shit either. My $.02

  50. shit, thats alotta shits
