I thought this was a pretty great video. I wonder what critics will find to hate about it.
I thought it had good cinematic elements and served the song well. I could see a few people maybe arguing that it seemed cliche or quasi-corny, but I mean, what else we’re you supposed to do? Sometimes you just have to make a video that describes the song and not try and do something TOO left-field artsy just for the sake of it. (*see Kanye West’s “Coldest Winter).

Vid was predictable and boring IMO. I mean, it goes with the song and I understood what they were trying to achieve, but I dunno. Plus some of the shots looked retarded as hell. The look Megan Fox looked borderline down syndrome. Some of the closeups of Rhianna feigning pain looked hilarious to me.. I dunno if it was just me. Just the pacing or something seemed to be off.
Plus Megan Fox? Man, it’s official. Em’s been fully integrated into the pop Hollywood shit that he once parodied and ridiculed in the early 2000s.
I actually liked Recovery for what it was but IMO this vid was ehh. Feels so calculated, planned out, plastic and unemotional. But the MTV demographic will love it.
