Off Red Hot Lover Tone’s #1 Player, circa ’95. Two versions, the original mix by Buckwild and remix by Frank Nitty of Big Moon Dawg Pun’s Punish Me fame. Being a DITC stan, I prefer the Buckwild version, although the bassline sampled from Grover Washington’s Hydra is a heavy hitter in it’s own right. The line “Lord have mercy, Jesus Christ, he’s just nice, he just slice like a Ginsu..” from Biggie’s verse would later influence & give birth to the chorus for NaS’ Last Real Nigga Alive.

  3. trying to pick btwn these two is futile (like trying to fight chuck norris or hell rell). they’re both strictly butter (never margarine)….but i’m gonna go diggin in the crates on this.

    my own personal 2(deep) cut of the moment is definitely biggie-related: lil kim’s “queen bitch.” i honestly cannot get enough of that song right now. something about the beat and kim rapping big’s lyrics.
