Labels don’t really matter much anymore. Look at Currensy, Wiz, Jay Electronica, all doing great without majors. But I see XV wanting to be a big artist and he needs a label to become that. Currensy doesnt really have mainstream appeall like XV has.

What’s your point? The style had to start somewhere. Lupe opened the door, XV took the idea, ran with it, and he makes high quality music with very few exceptions.

Since Final Fantasy XV he’s quickly become one of my favorite artists. He def deserved this and I hope that he becomes mega successful, and hopefully he manages to have a huge impact on what mainstream rap will be for the foreseeable future.
