  21. Ummm… this song is gonna be on the album. It wasn’t JUST recorded after the break up. It’s called “Reunion 2.” So it’s the original members of SV: T3, Dilla, Baatin. Illa J is just taking Dilla’s spot on the track, I guess.

    Elzhi is going to be on the album.

It’s T3, Baatin, & Jay Dee, & Phat Kat & the like before that. Also, as for the 2 “rolling in their graves,” I’m pretty sure Dilla would be proud of his little brother for being in SV.

We will never really know that… the real question is why is his brother even participating in all this anyway? Didn’t Dilla leave the label and the group back in the day because they did him dirty?     Nah, folk. Dilla left SV back in the day to take advantage of the production opportunities that were opening up to him out west. He always had love for SV and the D and made sure he always showed support to the group. He even personally chose Elzhi to be in SV and take his spot. He knew with the new label attention they were gettin’ from Fantastic Vol.2 that they would need some lyrical muscle to balance out the group.
    As far as Villa Manifesto goes nothing that’s leaked has really impressed me yet, but I’m gon’ hold off from jumping the gun. I don’t think Elzhi’s kicked out SV but this is (and should be) the last SV album. Between recording his on material and show’s El couldn’t lay a verse on every track. Some of the leaks have had various line ups like El & 3, 3 & Tan, Tan & El, etc. And Illa J’s been brought in to provide that Dilla vibe…but sorry, dude’s no Dilla. And with Tan passing last year this whole project seems kind of, well, ill-conceived. However I’ll wait to see how things pan out.

  52. God, people are jaded on here. I see that “FANTASTIC” runs the SV myspace or whatever but I agree with him. There’s no reason we can’t support all of these different cats when they’re still making good music. It’s true that SV will be a bit depraved lyrically without Elzhi but with all the great producers that T3 & Illa J will continue to work with, I for one, will still certainly wanna hear the music.

  53. I’ve read every comment on this board, and I watched this video several times before commenting. …as a HUGE SV fan, this is a really hard thing to see because SV is better than this. Bottom line. Whether we are talking about Jay Dee era SV or the newer El version. This is not Slum, this is a desperate attempt by a few desperate people to make a buck off a legacy. No offense to Illa J, but his verse? That shit was garbage, and I doubt Jay Dee would would have been proud of that (as some of you have argued). I’m sure, in fact, that if he were around, Dilla would have never let that shit be recorded to save his brother the embarrassment. As far as I could tell, Dilla wasn’t a yes man, he kept it real, even with his friends and fam about their musical ability, so anyone up here thinking Jay Dee would have supported that just because Illa J is his brother needs to sit the fuck down. Jay Dee was about this music shit, don’t forget that. Moving on, I really feel like T3 is wrong for takin’ shots at his own brothers on this track, because, if ya’ll are a group, ya’ll should be supporting each other (whether other members are more successful or not). Bottom line is, this is the second music video to come out with no El. You got Young RJ, Rio Data, Illa J with that haircut that makes him look mildly retarded, but no fuckin’ El? Yeah the fuck right. We know what’s up (or at least, we get the jest of it). Have some respect for yourselves, the group, the name, the legacy, etc, and be real. I honestly was so disappointed when I heard this was going to be the last album, because I love this group like it’s a member of my own family, but this shit, it needs to end now. This shit is like having an old sick pet, as much as you don’t want to because you think of how it USED to be, the reality is, what it is now is suffering, and it needs to be put out of it’s misery. Which is something I never thought I would have to say about SV – because I LOVE them, but when you really love some shit, you’re honest about it. RIP J Dilla.   56. This isn’t the SV that I’ve been a fan of since forever.

    That being said, it’s one track. The EP last year was dope. Lock it Down was dope. I’m still hopeful about the album, I can pass one subpar track.

    According to T3, this is the last Slum album, and it should be that way. If there’s hella fallout between him and Elzhi, they both should just work on their solo careers. The entire Slum catalog has been dope thus far.

    To everyone tossing hate Illa’s side, this isn’t his best work. He is an incredible artist tho’. Dude can sing and mc. Check his solo album, tracks like “hot,” “i ain’t gonna die” from that one 7″, and his verses off of Caltroit. Dude is far from wack.
