Reflection Eternal – Ballad Of The Black Gold (Video)

I’m fucking up. I’ve been meaning to get to Revolutions Per Minute, and each time I do something else comes out and I bump that instead. Anyways, here’s the latest visuals from Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek, directed by Sam Ellison.

  2. good video.. this beat is so nice

  3. its a pretty good cd, a few tracks in the middle of the album stall it. overall though it will be more than worth your time

  4. Don’t sleep on this album. Talib is in top form lyrically.

  5. good stuff..

..also, did Damani get a haircut??

  6. On an interesting note, I think this is the fifth video from this album. That’s a lot of videos.

  7. Yup, nice to see a video for this. This is song is so relevant with what’s going on with the oil crisis.

  8. dope. dope. dope

  9. wat can i say other than CLASSIC!!!!

  10. Pure dopeness. A very prophetic song considering it was recorded before the oil disaster

  11. Decent track. I bought the album and was disappointed. As much as I dig Talib’s lyrical abilities and Hi-Teks production. They both fell short on this project. Really short.

  12. meka you think youre fucking up? ive got recovery, rpm, distant relatives, and be3 all sitting in my desk unlistened to.
fuckin netbook with no cd drive…

Really?? There are so many bangers though.
Back Again, Strangers, In This World, Lifting Off, Ballad of the Black Gold, Just Begun, So Good, Ends, My Life. That’s more than half the album haha.

  14. wow really good.

  15. @HIGO
Maybe it was just too hard to get over city playgrounds (beat sounds too incomplete). And the fact that I’ve heard Talib express a lot more emotion than he does all through this album (e.g. Time zone ft. Talib).

  16. They definitely didnt fall short on this album, but I agree with you on the city playgrounds beat.

This video was great though, one of the best tracks on the album.

  17. bravo gentlemen..

and it is my opinion that this album is DOPE. Sleeping on it is a disservice to your ears…

Notice that Waka Flaka makes music that you can get crunk to in the club so that is why he is making all the money that he is makeing. If you cant make money off of youre musik than y even do it. dumb a** p*ssy.

  22. smdh @ this ass clown “Gucci&Waka”, which by the way has to be one of the absolute gayest names I have ever seen on this site. Fuck outta here with that

  23. “Brothers United against the Industry” is a paraphrase of the lyrics from the Revolutions Per Minute album. It is also a LIVING TESTIMONY of practicing what we preach. First off, Congratulations & Thanks!! It is an honor to have “Ballad of the Black Gold” as the song using our licensed music (see – http://www.moamper.com ). Although, Talib and I met during the Nas 2008 summer tour in St. Louis where he ‘freestyled’ some props about my Equalizer shirts to the crowd, it was at Hi-Tek’s hometown of Cincinnatti where I thanked him for using our music on the ‘Never Been In Love Before’ song from ‘The Beautiful Struggle’ album. During our chat back stage, I asked him to review some more music inside LuCor / The MO Amper Sounds catalog. A year and a half of silence on the issue turned my ‘mustard seed of faith’ into an “oh well, if its meant to be”. Well, imagine my TOTAL SURPRISE to hear our music on the latest album. Anybody who studies this music industry learns that MUSIC PUBLISHING is the heart of the trade. Our family is from the direct line of legandary Chicago music buisness entrpreneurs like Willie Dixon, Curtis Mayfield / Eddie Thomas, Lucky Cordell, Clarence Johnson, Johnny Pate, ‘Tom Tom’ Washington and more! Since OUR MUSIC is the “black gold” of the community, then, remixing and licensing our music catlog is how we participate in the mining of our God given treausure mines! On behalf of many of those “Living Legends”, Blacksmith Records is welcomed to the legacy and tradition of music independence! Uhuru – Nuff Respect Due!
