  5. ok. takin ova my dude. mad respect.

  6. i really cant even hate on this shit hahaha. the nigga snapped. real shit. that’s sad when the hater has to come back and say that shit was actually hard. i just hate that he waste dope shit like that. it could have been on an original song.

  7. his flow sounds like drake

  8. this shit is wack fareal..i fuck with quest but he has no business gettin on this beat

    [ ] Dope
    [x] Nope

  9. he whines about life like drake too lol

  10. ion think he sound like drake…quest been on this kinda flow and he consistantly movin up in the ranks

  11. this is real shit, ppl always find a way to hate. Looking forward to Reason

  12. QuESt did it for me with this one. #TheReason will be epic.

  13. Ive been fucking with quest for a while i thinks hes super under rated. dope shit.

  14. under rated indeed. this nigga need to get on asap. this shit speaks to closely to what real niggas be goin through.

  15. quest snapped

    http://vimeo.com/12963635

  16. FINALLY MY NIGGA Q
I HEARD THIS BEAT WEN MADD MAXX KILT IT ON GAME TAPE

  17. Yes you’re fucking wrong and this song sucks

  18. it’s not his voice that sounds like drake it’s his FLOW

his structure is exactly how drake spits his rhymes. it’s not original

  19. SINCE MTY NIGGA J-COLE ABOUT TO GET MEGA SHINE QUEST IS THE ONLY ONE OF MY FAVS THAT HAVE YET TO BE SEEN OR TALKED ABOUT ON MTV

  20. ^ IM FULL OF SHIT XV AND A COUPLE OF OTHERS SHOULD BE WELL KNOWN BY NOW

  21. i like how niggas immediately wanna compare shit to drake just cause hes big shut your faggot asses up please

    Q always been dope

  22. Shake, you or Meka should put up that Emancipator produced Sigur Ros vs Mobb Deep mash that has been eating up a lot of indie blogs.. Pretty good shit, the original song is best by itself…

  23. am I wrong , am I wrong .. fuck yall…. Quest the next best

  24. What beat is this???? nothin exciting here.Tryin to sound like vintage jay-z

  25. im sayin yall niggas all on drakes dick tryna say every nigga on to him when really like jkredding said ,q been dope. check the record bitches.

  26. ostrange if u knew about QuESt u would know his voice and flow are naturally similar to jay z. most niggas dont know this nigga Q talks the same way so its not him tryna be like anybody else.

  27. the best thing ya’ll got to say to that is nothing really because you can’t really argue against it

we’re not talking about the past we’re talking about this song right here, and this song right here sounds just like drake’s flow with the pauses and everything. get quest’s dick out your ear and actually listen to the song and you’ll see what i’m talking about. it’s far from original.

  28. anyone can pause on a track. period. pause. your point is stupid as shit. every rappin ass nigga pauses on they shit for theatrics and its all about the math of the bar. so. again your point is stupid.

  29. and if you pay attention you ol bitch ass nigga you would hear the similarity, it’s not the fact he pauses it’s the fact that he does it the same way as drake you slow ass preschool short bus nigga fronting like you know what the fuck i’m talking about with pauses i bet you do, bitches like you have periods too

  30. pause that motherfucker

  31. i agree with “think” after listenin to the track a 2nd time but i dont think this dude Q is like the other niggas who study drake n shit. i think his bars are on point just a little similar in cadence.

  32. right i didn’t even say the song was wack i just pointed out what was unoriginal about it, dudes need to stop catching feelings and do what my name says first

  33. @creatant This cat aint dope at all.Why would i wanna know that his shit is similar to jay-z??????? if thats the case then he not gonna get any pull from real hip-hop cats like myself.People cant be original these days.SO WHAT BEAT IS THIS???? AT LEAST ANSWER THAT QUESTION.

  34. yea, don’t matter how many of QuESt’s stans try defending him, his flow and subject matter is EXACTLY like Drake. seriously. and yea he has been on this. since So Far Gone dropped and he did Broken Headphones.

anyways, QuESt, if you’re reading this. you know in your heart, no matter what you say in public, that your style is heavily heavily influenced by Drake. It’s very apparent in your rhyming, lyrics and delivery. Drake should stop doing it, and less famous followers should stop even sooner. Your life isn’t that bad, stop being so fucking emo and complaining about everything. Believe it or not, it’s not ‘deep’ just cuz you’re willing to acknowledge how your dad feels about you or your friends’ opinions of you.

Sorry, just saying what needs to be said. I am a fan of QuESt actually, before Broken Headphones and even a little after, but nuthuggers and dickriders need to hop off if they keep calling this original and ‘lyricism at its best’ when it’s just a rapper on a mission doing his best Drake rendition.

  35. ^ pause! lmaooo

  36. good one yeaaaa. you’re cool now.

and yup QuESt should stop it now before labels and everyone else writes him off as a Drake copycat.

Even ‘Am I Wrong’? sounds exactly like something Drake would say in a song mourning his successful life and career.

  37. but u gotta admit a lotta rappin dudes dont know how to work the formula but i think Q got it. i mean say hes spittin like drake but still like i said before i dont think he does it purposely like some of yall are insinuating

  38. lol this dude does sound just like drizzy drake, hahah damnnn biting ass nigga.

  39. cmon suicider, that shit has to be intentional. it’s damn near identical lol.

  40. i think yall are blinded by the drake light. chill.

  41. ok i read the comments first then listened and i think yall full of that drake-itis [get the fuckin drake poster out ya ass and get back to analysing artists for their true artistry] im not even that into quest but i think the comments are bullshit

  42. ^^^ hard to say he doesnt sound like him, it’s blatantly obvious.

  43. i think QuESt is on the right path with his music. good shit.

  44. Last 15 comments = DRAKE DICKRIDERS.

  45. yeah he sounds kinda like drake with his flow but i think lyrically he shittin on a lot of dudes in the same position so im a fan

  46. blah.

  47. no one said dude is bad, i think he’s dope. he just sounds like aubrey.

  48. people who hate really make me laugh…if you really didnt approve of the music dont comment…a post with no comments says more than one with a bunch of people trying to prove a point that QuESt is trash…so keep hating

  49. some of yall needa stay away from the blogs for awhile until you can come with a genuine critique. yall be the main niggas quoting drizzy all day on twitter and facebook lmao

  50. it’s still funny how people are resorting to petty insults instead of arguing down what i said

if it doesn’t sound like drake then strike me dead now

  51. ^*Waits for the lightning to hit this lame nigga*

  52. @think I’ll argue it down

First off, His content is not the same as Drake. I think whats the most similar however is his honesty. Which still isnt a valid argument, because Drakes honesty stems from Kanye & Eminem. Now if you want to talk about Flow wise, Drakes rhyme patterns have always paused, and quest Paused on this, but not like Drake does on all his songs. QuESt has a more continuous flow scheme on this. PLUS drake got his ENTIRE rhyme scheme now from Ye circa “Late Registration”.
Also add the fact the fact that QuESt’s voice is NOTHING like drakes voice, and that its not all monotone and filled with MEANINGLESS BASIC ASS punchlines that everybody obviously gets, you have a record that does not sound like Drake. PERIOD. So take that shit over there ———>>>>>>>>

  53. Can yall just enjoy the damn song? This is why Hip Hop is soo secluded these days…

  54. from the jump i was only talking about his flow so the rest of that was unnecessary

i agree with you about his honesty but i disagree about his flow, to me it’s structured the same and it just comes off as a lame bite more than anything. at the end of the day it’s my opinion and i never forced it on anyone, i just stated it. if you caught feelings and tried to attack me (like the coward ass bitch nigga who commented before you) of course i’mma defend my opinion.

  55. yes truthserum let’s just accept everything and never have an opinion about anything

shut the fuck up, hip hop survives because people discuss it. if it wasn’t for me there wouldn’t be this many comments

more comments + curiosity jumps + people listen. that opens it up bitch learn your math. if anything i’m doing him a favor by provoking discussion. i still stand by my opinion though and once again i never even said dude was wack, i just stated my opinion on the song

some of ya’ll need to THINK

  56. Now that every rappers hats to spit personal raps, acting as if Drake patented the shit. The style was before Drake and will continue to be that way after Drake. If Drake were to even try to spit over this beat then he would be completely criticized to no end. I enjoy listening to Drake and Quest respectively. What sets them apart is how they apply their situations. They just put everything out on the beat. It’s a gamble but it’s them and that’s how everybody is. Em’s Recovery album is a recent example.

  57. every rapper sounds like drake to you guys.

QuESt went in on this though

  58. @think

I respect your opinion. We just have to agree to disagree.

  59. i agree

  60. hahahahahaha

this shit is wack fareal..i fuck with quest but he has no business gettin on this beat

    [ ] Dope
    [x] Nope

fulltimeboss said this on July 5th, 2010 at 7:13 pm

    love this hahahaha

  61. He sounds like a Male Nikki Minaj

  62. quest went in. im feelin it.

  63. ok cool…sounds a little familiar but the lyrical content is solid. props Q.

  64. talk about jackin flows gotdamn

  65. Every rapper takes elements of their style from those who’ve came before them. Quest is on his way up- hes not there yet, but hes got a pretty damn good foundation- really anyone on their way up right now should be learning from Drake- obviously he got the recipe right- now its time for people to take elements of his flow and reinvent it with their own additions.. Thats how all of the greats did it. Quest has that unique sounding voice going for him, so thats his first step- now lets just wait and see how he progresses.. I really don’t understand why you guys get all bent out of shape over someone resembling someone else.. Bottom line- This shit was kinda dope, if it wasn’t I wouldnt be the 50th something comment..

  66. “…real hip-hop cats like myself.People cant be original these days.SO WHAT BEAT IS THIS???? AT LEAST ANSWER THAT QUESTION.”

ostrange said this on July 5th, 2010 at 8:15 pm

    oh tha irony!

  67. Nigga tryna flow like drake…pssshh..holla back 4 sum real rhymin’

  68. dude it’s fucking Jay Electronica – exhibit A. JUST BLAZE…

  69. yo this nigga sound like drake

  70. So umm yeah, you can’t really deny that he sounds like Drake. Sounds like, as in similar. I am not saying they are saying the same thing, or that Quest isn’t good. I’m simply stating he BIT HIS FLOW ENTIRELY AND IS A COWARD BITCH NIGGA FOR IT.

  71. i have a question, if it’s homage when you incorporate past styles into your work to honor them than what do you call it when you take someone who is popular at the moment’s style? wouldn’t that be attention seeking biting?

  72. shut the fuck up all u dumbass bitchass niggas dissin quest for his flow, wtf yall niggas aint actually talkin about the record. shut that shit down man. the song was decent. quest is a legit lyricist on the rise. no dickridin but yall niggas are dumb slow.

  73. Swear half of these comments is from members of Quest’s camp praising and defending their boy

  74. so can we get back to talking about the song? overall i give it a 9/10.

  75. the first two lines sound like eminem to me. but i understand where think is coming from. Not the content or skill or voice but the flow. Like i could imagine these verses over say you will and it’d sound exactly like say what’s real.
He is more lyrical than Drake. And i don’t know if he’s really bitin drake, it’s mainly just this song.

  76. people need to relax and just listen to the song and give their honest opinion. stop gettin offended. to each his own.

  77. quest lost

    get this garbage off 2dope

  78. You’re wrong for rapping over a beat that’s been ran through by 2,498 otha n*ggas….Cap’n Save-A-Beat….lol

  79. man idc i like the song haha never heard of quest though so i guess im behind?

  80. i mean quest is a solid rapper so i cant really get into all this random talk.

  81. he dont sound like drake at all except for his choruses, drake dont spit this real shit like quest, and i havent heard him spit as rapid as quest ever….some people are idiots

  82. How do yall not know this beat?

    Exhibit A by Jay Electronica

    #cmonson!

  83. Haha sounds like weird al yankovic doin a drake impression.
Or like urkel ate a frog.

  84. This was nice. I don’t understand why it’s wrong for an artist to be influenced by another. Of course you’re gonna sub-consciously sound like an artist you look up to. That’s what hip-hop has already been about. A Big Daddy Kane influenced a Jay-Z, A Jay-Z influenced a Kanye West, a Kanye West influenced a Drake, and so on and so forth.

If you try hard enough, you can find comparisons between anybody. Let’s just take the music for what it is?

And while people are complaining about things sounding too “emo” or whatever, I say, get used to it. Hip-Hop music is finally catching up with a bunch of other genres who figured out it was okay to get personal and vulnerable in their music a long time ago. That makes some of the best music ever. Though the days of having a fabricated persona and hardcore street raps or gritty boom-bap tunes that are focused more on anger and showing you are better than the next man, the status-quo in this genre has definitely shifted, and I think we’re entering an era that’s going to be great…

  85. *Though the days of having a fabricated persona and hardcore street raps or gritty boom-bap tunes that are focused more on anger and showing you are better than the next man aren’t completely gone

  86. Y’all boys on that GOOD dope.

  87. This song is Dope. Always liked QuEST a lot. All this Drake comparison is totally ridiculous. There only a little similar, there So Far Different. I like both of their music but QuEst makes a lot more real music and changes his flow like a REAL hip hop artist/MC, sorry Drake but you gotta stop talking with the same flow in every song. Drake is too mainstream/pop artist with a real song once in a blue moon.

  88. @FRO This thread is funny as hell.I heard that beat before and i just wanted to know what it was.Quest sounds like every other rapper out there and wont stand out of all of them for shit.

  89. A lot of haters on here today. Either enjoy the song, or move on.

  90. The C section in this bitch turning into sum WorldStar shit…bunch people sounding like lil ass kids…smh

  91. *clears throat* [pause] the homie Question sounds like nothinnnnnngg Drake if we are comparing up&commers to Drake, its time to fucking kill “hip-hop” fans – dude has a story, a great flow and believes in himself he been dope since Distant Travels into Soul Theory and the dude needs some acknowledgement honestly shit is super trife on the real..point; the kid is dope/chill

  92. dont sleep on this dude…..

  93. Why is this dude getting close to 100 comments for going over a Jay Elec beat? It’s not even an original song…

  94. FINALLY my dude Q bout 2 get his shine on.

  95. i listened 2 dis shit n i gotta admit it’s prolly the best song of the year. bes beat 2.

  96. gotta admit, my boy Q prolly spit the best verse ever in rap on this 1.

  97. Where can i buy this song? I’m very interested because it is amazing!

  98. This joint b blazin! I’m very impressed with this young man who is definitely on his way to the top of the rap game.

  99. damn this nigga sound like drake.

  100. THIS QUEST NIGGA DONE BIT AUBREYS FLOW A LITTLE BIT. DECENT TRACK THO I GUESS

  101. What up yall it’s your boy Big Daddy Kane. Normally I jus lurk on these internets, but I decided that this song was worth commenting on because this shit remind me of when Raw, Ain’t No Half Steppin and Wrath Of Kane dropped. It’s that good yo. Check my boy Q out, he’s quite dope.

    - Big Daddy Kane, hip hop pioneer

  102. I’m very proud to be black as a result of listening to my boy Q.

  103. ^^^ co-sign a bit. I mean he’s spitting way faster than drake does but his flow sounds identical.

  104. This is quite possibly the best song ever. Good stuff, Q.

  105. @ FrederickDouglas

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you.

  106. this here negro SUCKS ASS. biting the biggest name in the game right now… howww original. BITCH ASS HO QUEST.

  118. I can speak on everyone in the Universe and say as a collective… WE FEEL YOU QUEST!!! You one of the most dope lyricists of ALL TIME. Your breath control is impeccable and your flow is just the most awesome!

  119. This is quite weird cuz i don’t even like rap, but Q has changed my mind a bit.

  120. Wow, rap is quite good when done by someone like Q.

  121. Guys enough! We all know this guy POWNS all newbs, without a dizzzoubt. Ya feel me my niggas?

  122. John Lennon would have loved this song. I’m sure he’s smiling down from heaven. Thanx for this, Q.

  123. Hey, this is the real Ben Affleck, not the fake one. Just wanted to say Q has really delivered something special here. Never has a freestyle over a Jay Electronica beat mattered so much that it would warrant this many comments. Keep doing what u do best, Q. That would be making the best music on the planet.

-Ben Affleck (the real one, not the fake one)

  124. Hi, this is the REAL George Clooney, star of such films as The Peacemaker and Men Who Watch Goats. Q, you really came through here. Well done sir. This is the best rap song ever.

    -The real George Clooney

  125. Q, I got you my nigga!

    - T. Cruise (Aka BigNazztea)

  126. Q, get @ me. U kno Game don’t normaley lik 2 do sonngs wit 2 menny nigz, but u da exepcion. Black Wall st 4 Lyfe.

    BLoods!

  127. The public perception of Q right now is that he is winning. His content is exceptional. He will be very comfortable with his spot for a very long time.

  128. ^^Basically.

  129. Hi, normally I don’t respond in rap blogs, but my son has leukemia. And he was in a coma, but I played him this song and he woke up. I advise any other parents out there with kids with leukemia that are in a coma who care about them to play this song for them. Thanks Q!
