  1. There is a whole grip of ignorant rap out nowadays and no disrespect but 2dopeboyz post a lot of the shit.
So they can’t come out talkin’ bout “ignorant rap” when a good 96% of the post are just that

  2. Can you get someone to edit your material?

  3. @who cares
2dopeboyz can post what ever they want. I mean just look at you, you think 96% of what 2dope posts is “ignorant rap” yet u still check out the website and even comment on posts.

  4. these are really really dumb. and you sound like a bitch

  5. ^smh

  6. hiphop is an ignorant genre period dont mean you cant enjoy it and hip hop should just do what it feels like not care of what people like your self are bullshitting about when its people like you who support it and there is no such thing as smart rap if you wanna here good lyrics pick up a book

  7. okay whats the def. of ignorant. because if that’s the case jay z is ignorant. there’s conscious hiphop and just hiphop. it’s not a big deal either you like both or you like the other.

  8. now now @till…. There are tons of ignorant text and tons of not so ignorant rhymes

  9. @M.E.A.N if u think there is only conscious hiphop and regular hiphop then u are sadly mistaken. there are so many diff styles and some u cant even place in a category. I wouldnt even say Kweli is a concious rapper all the time

  10. omg hiphop/rap is ignorant? no way.

  11. Why does it even matter? I don’t like soulja boy and that stuff, but instead of letting it bother me I just understand people have different tastes in music. I listen to my shit they listen to theirs. Simple.

  12. LMFAO. Meka peddle frees music, the majority of which is ignorant, as well as write ignorant posts & articles daily but somehow tries to distance and disassociate himself from it all. Dude’s either oblivious, living in denial, or he thinks his audience is brain dead and won’t notice the hypocrisy. Just the fact that he continuously mention Kat Stacks is prime example of how he’s part of the problem. Jokes on you. A narcissistic hypocrite sitting on an imaginary high horse isn’t a good look.

  13. As long as there is ignorant folks there will always be a demand for ignorant music. So please shut the fuck up!

  14. Oh yeah and im a homosexual.

  15. ^^^^^^^^^^
    me to!

  16. Me three, I love cocks

  17. Did someone say cocks….. Yummy!!!!!

  18. Let’s all have a deep throat orgy!!!! Shake you first : )

  19. I love black cocks. I eat em every day!

  20. You love mine dont you Kanye

  21. Sure do, it’s very huge, yikes

  22. Fuck is going on here

  23. What the fuck why wasn’t I invited to this party. Where are the back throat tickle sticks?

  24. Wow, hey guys.

  25. Super , found one( gagging on it).

  26. Has anyone smelled Lil Waynes penis. It smells like shit but tastes good!

  27. Here’s what i’ve come to realize. As much as I dread to hear music full of ignorance, materialism, and just plain garbage, in a sick twist of events, we actually neeed those rappers.I mean think about it, if every rapper was talented, your favorite rapper would just be another rapper. What would be so special about anyone if everyone was a lyrical genious? We need those wack rappers, it is those wack ignorant rappers that make us desire the arrival of peeople like jay electronica, j. cole, and even drake. So I say go ahead with your ignorant mundane elementary skill rap music, go right ahead, it is because of you I can appreciate what real pleasure it is to have talented rappers. Thankyou wack rappers, oh Thnakyou for your ignorance. I guess ignorance can be bliss after all. The end….:)

  28. er…………

  29. Fuck you guys, I am pound for pound the biggest fag here. Boss.

  30. Ohh and I love peckers

  31. damn, Drizzy goin in!! ^^ back to the subject at hand, why does Meka feel like his opinion is so valid? he comes accross like he thinks very highly of himself and what he has to say. that’s cool and all my nigga, but you’re just a random blogger on a website that mainly uploads illegal “ignorant” music. how about you pick up a real craft and work hard on it? try contributing to the culture, then maybe your opinion will hold some weight. go get some reason, fruity loops, a drum pad, mixer, mpc, mics, whatever and bang something out. you’ve just lost me after the dilla post and this retarded i hate/love nignorant music article

  32. ^^^ couldn’t agree with you more. that dilla article had me SMH.

  33. lol@ the dizzy imposter

  34. Why I’m I always late for the cock bash? Anyone.

  36. Wiz is one of the reasons ignorant music thrives.

  37. Ya’ll act like Meka has lost it, to me he’s starting to make sense since the Dilla article.
And @ crackadon, you are the one who visits the sites and reads his posts.
YOU are the one that makes his opinion valid, because obviously you care enough to read his shit and respond to it, why would anyone do that to shit that doesn’t matter?
Are you contributing to the culture by bashing on another mans opinion, a opinion who doesn’t matter acording to you?
YOU frequent blogs but wish bloggers would stop blogging, you make some much sense, not contradicting to the slightest.
I got to stop analyzing your shit before I blow my mind with all this seeds of brilliance.

  38. Ugh, a bunch of typos in that one.
Oh well not like monkeys like crackadon notice anyway.

  39. You’re right Gordon, we should sit idly by while Meka spews bullshit to the masses.

  40. Oh and hypocrite, err… I mean Gordon. You should really work on your grammar before you make fun of someones typing/spelling issues.

  41. But I believe in birds and bees, and such! What do you say to me child? Nothing shall lead to impurity.

  42. Critical mass is equivalent to critical bass, jubilant tendencies proceed!

  43. @Boomerang Slang

    ignorance is ignorance.

  44. goddamn dude, you’re a horrible writer. stick to blog posts because you have no fucking clue how to make a cohesive and coherent point

  45. Im glad this post doesnt apply to my music

  46. @biffboof

*round of applause* Post a link, hack.

  47. for those that care Scaling the building CDQ
    http://www.usershare.net/mg093etnvp4u

  48. You guys don’t understand, ignorance is one thing, being stupid is another.

  49. sure wish people could post their opinions on their website that would be cool

  50. i like this website and i support it, but what the fuck are you saying, Meka? that this ignorant music is bad for us, yet you admit you like it? what is the point of your article? you read the comments, man. do you know why most people ain’t co-signing your articles? because you make no sense. you just ramble incessantly and leave the reader with a sense of nothing-ness. stand for something, have conviction and fucking get to the point. most of the comments here and on xxl are mostly negative (and it’s not because people are haters.) you’re just not a good writer

  51. I feel as if his first article touched on how ignorance is alright, but in small doses, for its kind of unavoidable. Chances are even if your favorite rapper is very conscious he’s probably made or jumped on at least one ignorant track. I think I heard not too long ago, Kanye West was working with Soulja boy. Of course Meka used Tupac as an example with his songs degrading and praising women. Not to mention, how can you ask for something when you can’t deliver it yourself? I think it was Plato that said in every man’s opinion bares some ignorance. Ironically even this post.

  52. His second argument however touched on how too much ignorance has a negative effect on you. like the saying goes too much of anything isn’t good for you. the second argument relates well to the current state of the hip hop industry in comparison to the 90′s. because of the high tolerance of ignorance from this generation the bar has been lowered for what people define as an MC. Its safe to say that ignorance has drastically increase, but not only in the music but in our culture as well. An example would be when people from our generation vote for obama not because of his polices but because hes black. As long as we continue to tolerate high levels of it, its just going to increase. Of course some of the things I mentioned were not mentioned in the article itself. I just used my own examples to give better clarity on the subject.

  53. Meka,

Don’t let them hate on your writing. Nice article.

My racial background only allows an implicit level of feelings for the topics you are brushing upon in this piece, but I can at least offer relative validation for them.

Gotta love the misspelled, disjointed, weakly punctuated pejoratives being hurled at you.

    Anyways…

I am grossly drawn to Worldstarhiphop. Seldom do I make it through a whole day without getting a few brief, to irresponsibly, fully engulfed fixes of it. The problem is, as much as I find myself feasting upon it for mindless entertainment purposes; I am just as equally repulsed by it. Sometimes the mere descriptions of videos, let alone the videos themselves, are too much for me to handle. I don’t even follow through with a fully committed mouse-click half the time.

I don’t know man. I think there is a certain amount of, dare I say… ‘tasteful?’ sadism, that the human brain naturally thirsts for. This can be found in the harmless, recreational clips of Kat Stacks getting backhanded by another woman, or a random street brawler getting knocked out clean by another street brawler, but honorably left to revitalize and walk away after, without facing further physical abuse. Those clips, while violent-natured, seem to play well to my senses.

But when a 12 year old girl gets a brick taken to her forehead by someone yelling “Dade County bitch!” Welp. That’s when you lose me.

I think the internet has synthesized an unnatural, unhealthy appetite in a lot of people for stuff like this. And unfortunately, technology seems to provide expectations for the unwilling, who seem to perform gratuitous acts of unthinkable violence on others, because they know their YouTube/WSHH view counts will be higher.

It’s disgusting. How do we change it? I dunno, perhaps we consider the Sudan, or the Congo, where this lifestyle is the standard– and realize that, hey, maybe we were never actually as civil as we thought we once were. Fuck, maybe technology is helping reawaken those reprehensible savage/human qualities, we suppressed so long ago.

  54. @hahahah
I pointed out my own spelling problems, not anyone else’s.
Usually I read through my posts once or twice before I click ‘Submit’ since I know I write some incomprehensible shit at times, this time I didn’t.

  55. It is like the roots said, we are all bound in ignorance, but who am i to say who is whom? No one knows everything, but acting in this ignorance is the problem.
