My numbers might be a little off but black folks are only like 6 percent of the population, at least in this country. So do the math. I like the album OK. He still hasn’t made a classic, entire album, IMO, but that’s not to take anything away from him as far as being a great lyricist. His singing on the hooks and shit is horrible, production’s dope. I like to see cats like DJ Khalil doin’ tracks for Em and especially NOT himself(making beats). Also, I’m all for anything that’s even remotely real hip-hop doing well commercially instead of Gucci Mane & the like.

I think Marshall Mathers is definitely his best album but it’s not classic, to me. This album was dope… seriously… I had a problem with Relapse, but this is amazing! Far better than Encore and Relapse combined in MY opinion. I agree with the notion that MMLP and TES are his two strongest albums. I’m still on the fence about SSLP but that was damn good too. I’m inclined to say that was one of his strong releases as well. The only album that I thought was really weak was Encore and that was mainly in the middle of the album. Tracks 7 to 14 were all such a let down. “Rain Man” to this day I feel was such a waste of a beat. That beat was a banger and I can only imagine if Em was on top of his game at the time and not on drugs, what he could’ve done on that track. Heck, the bonus tracks should’ve replaced some of the songs on the main album. I made a copy of Encore without those tracks and threw in the bonus tracks. The CD was much better that way. Relapse was shitty when he started doing the accent but there were weak tracks on there too. I also thought Infinite was a good album despite the fact that it was Eminem in his infant stages of rap. “Tonite” is such a laid back and feel good track. As for Recovery, I’d say that for me it falls around the same level as SSLP. I still like MMLP and TES the most of all his albums. Then again, only time will tell where it ends up ultimately. It’s still too new of an album to say for sure but listening to it a few times, it is solid.

Eminem uses the fact that he’s white to appeal to a wider market and that in itself is genius. It’s not just because he’s white, it’s because he’s brilliant and knows how to market himself. EVERY SINGLE ALBUM that Eminem has put out has been personal. He has just sprinkled a lot of crazy random fantasy shit within it. But it’s always subject matter that he truly is affected by in his life. As for him being the greatest rapper, I think he’s the greatest OVERALL rapper. Meaning that he has master the battle rap style, he’s great at writing song originals, he is a master at freestyle, his journey and life story is compelling and really changed the game. Overall that is absolutely incredible. Do I think every song he puts out is good? No. This album Recovery is definitely a classic album because he’s reinvented himself and is exploring new ground. The lyrical content is deep and honest. Especially “Going Through Changes”. I don’t like a couple of the hooks on the album and I think his flow is stagnant. He has incredible flow but he does play as much as he used. You can still play with your flow while not being silly all the time and I think he’s screaming on the mic too much. yo ive bought all of eminems albums except for relapse caz it blew. Marshall mathers lf is a classic bc it has one of the best rap songs of all time n stan, two it was a rare occasion where someone tops his debut album that was one of the biggest debut album ever by making genious songs like stan, the way i am, and the real slmishady. Not to mention nobody will ever compare to the deepness and real feel eminem always puts on the line and the way he completely opens himself up like no other rapper since tupac. Eminem is my favorite rapper and listen to the way you lie, eminem is back and im so glad.
Em album recovery was great, I have all of his albums and he started slipping a little around the 5th album. So he definitely made up for it. I listen to it all the time. My son loves Em and wants to rap just like him. But I told talent like Em doesn’t come around often. big up on your determination to clean yourself up, I’ve lost siblings and others to the same habitd. You are truly the best rapper hands down. whether people want to down talk you or not everyone deep down inside knows your the best. My love to you and your daughter and niece. Me and my son both will be waiting for your next album.

Anyone who says this album is not solid all the way around is OBVIOUSLY not listening to what he is spitting… his word play is ridiculous and his hidden comparisons to things you actually have to point out to people or the songs make no sense… if you dont like this album for what it is you probably cant understand it. you might not like his style or him as a rapper but this album is a 10 for sure! and as far as everyone talking about him singing on the track “you’re never over” that song is about his best friend in his whole life. when proof died his world basicly stopped. he did that song for proof and nobody else. i skip the song too but its because it gives me chills listening to it. there are 3 songs on the album that if you really listen to, you can feel how much pain he has been going through with losing proof and drugs… the album is fucking great!!!!!!!! and when him and Royce da 5’9″ start doing shit again the rap game is gonna feel a change!
anybody know whats up with eminem and obie trice? is obie done with shady records? first 2 albums were solid but nobody heard much on the radio except for the god awful got some teeth song… his 3rd album not under shady records is garbage!

here’s the deal..RECOVERY was a good album..as many people have mentioned yes the singing brings it down a notch, hense not being a GREAT album (although i think it is close)..lyrically its not as good as MMLP (go back and listen to it cuz MMLP is still absolutely fucking incredible), BUT it’s still unbelievable..he is still the #1 lyrical genius out there..as far as the beats are concerned, a few of them are just ok, but there are quite a few that are fucking AMAZING..honestly some of the best beats i’ve ever heard, so whoever says the beats suck is just a fuckin retard..and i know a lot of people feel the same way..i say all this to say that this album is a glimpse into the future..EM IS FUCKING BACK, and NO ONE out there is at his level..NO ONE

Honestly it’s not about the color of EM’s skin he is one of the best artist I have ever heard. I totally agree the Recovery Albus is his best work to date. I’m black and I actually went and purchased the album not only white people purchased his album. Did I listen to it online before I went out and purchased it, of course I did. Didn’t want to waste my money like I did on Encore and Relapse. There is not one song on Recovery that I didn’t like, hell Em didn’t even like his last two albums he knew they were not up to par.
To say race isnt an issue is slightly off. Vanilla Ice sold 9 mil + units. How was his skills?? Em isn the greatest rapper ever, but he is top 5.

This album was all right, im not gonna lie, i do miss the older Eminem better such as Infinite, SSLD MMLP The Eminem Show was all right, on the same level as Encore and Recovery, although i do see hope, the On Fire track was hot except for the hook lol it reminded me of old school Eminem
I think there is hope and that he will eventually put out a 100% classic album, absolute bangers on every track, he had the potential before and hes getting it back now

Everyone says they miss the old em but what happens when he comes out with the same shit again and again huh? everyone on here would be saying why is he putting out the same shit. the reason SSLD and MMLP are so good is because he didn’t try to recreate them and because they are original. He took this album in a different direction and honestly lyrically this album is off the charts. also for those that say he is selling because he’s white please stop being ignorant.
