  1. There is a reason why certain underground rappers make it to the “league” and some just stay mixtape rappers. Almost anybody can spit a decent 16 over a beat but songs like this remind you why some dudes will always just be a mixtape rapper. The ability to write a dope 3 verse song w/hook is what seperates a rapper who is ready to make the jump into the “league” from a rapper who will never be more than just a mixtape rapper. Papoose is a classic case of that, he had all that hype for what? Papoose had nice lyrics but name one dope original song he ever made? There was always something missing. I give rappers 2 or 3 mixtapes to prove themselves and if they are still lacking then I can’t take them serious. It’s just like sports you get a couple years to prove yourself, not 8-10 years. I laugh at hip hop fans who still claim mixtape rappers are dope after 8-10 years of having no success. Freestyles and punchlines over other rappers beats doesn’t make you dope. The ability to make an original dope song with your own concept is what makes you dope. As soon as fans stop sucking the dick of all these average to no talent rappers the game will be much better and more creative.

  2. grafh is dat dood..bring the goons out and like ooh were fire ^^^^ he is nice and can make songs..needs that hot 97 push like they give all these bk rappers like maino and red cafe

  3. Derek Jeter hit it on the head homie. It’s about SONGS/CONCEPTS/COMPLETE PRODUCTS, not just nice lyrics. The average consumer of hip-hop these days (people that actually purchase it) listen to all types of music…and other types of popular music doesn’t see the light of day. I don’t know much about Grafh so I won’t drop heavy judgment (good or bad) without listening to more of dude’s stuff. BUT…”we the reason your mother had a crack baby”…FOR REAL?

  4. *other types of music doesn’t see the light of day If it’s missing a good hook, melody, and concept.

  5. This was a step up from what he’s been releasing lately, but still… agree with above comments.

  6. I’ve always liked Grafh’s music, but I agree that it can be inconsistent.

However, those that don’t think he can write a song (as opposed to just spitting punchlines) must be tripping. You just haven’t heard the right stuff.

Sometimes Grafh says more in 4 bars than most top-40 rappers say in a whole song.

  7. i fucks with Grafh… had some bangers back in the day, but was just unpolished. Bout Dat was a smash for me earlier this year… i still bang that in the whip.

  8. picture on the mixtape cover looks like Lloyd Banks though. hahaha.

  9. @Derek Jeter

I agree with you on majority of what you said; maybe 95% of it is on point. The only thing is that there are a handful of good rappers who can make a full song and still be underground.

Some good rappers who have mainstream ability just never really completely find a way to generate that kind of success so they end up saying “fuck it… I am what I am” <- meaning a street or underground rapper that can only generate that love until maybe just maybe one day. That being said there aren't a lot of underground rappers who have that overall talent but just never could figure out how to crack the barrier. I liked your comment because it was obviously well thought out and well said and lastly mostly TRUE!
