  1. nice…im donwloadin this album for sure

  2. Title is some ignorant shit. I feel as though they’re poking fun at people who’ve been sodomized or raped. Recently, I was sodomized at an N.E.R.D. after party. I guess I’d had a few too many muffdivers and I fell asleep. And when I awoke someone was standing over me. And they were thrusting in and out. I tried to turn my head, but it was like I was frozen. I felt like I was dreaming, but when I came to, the evidence was all over my Esprit shirt. Shit isn’t anything to joke about.

  3. Can’t wait for this !

  4. I’m fuckin’ psyched for this album..

  5. WTF are you talkin bout Rezo??? The title implies nothing about rape or sodomy. This ain’t the venue for that anyway. I swear…

  6. Fuck you you insensitive douche. I dare you to walk a day in my shoes. You know how long it took for me to get over that shit? My dudes be snappin on me about that shit every now and then and I swear I just wanna scream at them.

  7. rezo sounds like he just smoke some wet.

  21. I LIKE BLACK THOUGHT BUT THE BAND DROWN HIS WORLDPLAY WHEN HE CAN BE EASLILY TOP TEN IF HE STEP AWAY FROM THE BAND AND HANDPICK SOME BEATS LEAST A MIXTAPE

  22. Black Thoughts Been in my top 5 for a minute know so has blu so too have both of them on a track together is really ill. Hopefully after this album Thought will release his long delayed solo album with Danger Mouse called Dangerous Thoughts cause anything thought spits on is God In The Flesh Crack. PEACE!!

  23. dnt really see the hype in this group plus their old as fuck too its better groups out now like pac div cool kids travis porter brick squad tanya morgan shit that actually sells music i never heard of them going platinum

  24. “its better groups out now like pac div cool kids travis porter brick squad tanya morgan shit that actually ”

    BAHAHAHAHA….
At least mention someone great like CunninLynguists or something.. Smh @ “old as fuck”, “never heard of them going platinum”(-_-) and that list of mediocracy.

  25. Yea, I mean, what kind of lame can play an instrument? Those shits are for old people. You know what’s hot? sampling old niggas who played instruments when that shit was cool, not doing anything with the sample, and throwing some rhymes my lil cuz ls learning about in 2nd grade on top. That’s whats hot in the streets right now mane. And if not that, get a keyboard and play three notes and record that shit and loop it, cuz god knows it’s too hard to play something on beat for entire song.

    /word

  26. Rezo your a fucking queer guy u copy and pasted the exact same comment on a different post. if your gonna crack a wack joke like that at least make some fucking sense. u sound like a fucking flamer

  31. This is definitely why there needs to be another genre of hip hop called actual art. This album will be amazing, unforgettable, classic.

  32. don’t say nothin was the first ever song i heard from them. instantly got me hooked.

  33. Rezo get your depressing ass off this page!nobody gives a fuck about U or your life story we clicked this link cause we care about the roots…not to hear about how much U like dicks….& with that said, this shit bumps!

  34. WOW im having classic Roots flashbacks…is it the 22nd yet??!?!?!! The Roots never let me down! Illadelph holdin it down

  35. you cunts know nothing about the roots…first song i ever heard by them dont say nothing, you should be ashamed of yourself, and butt rape kid….your a clown…how i got over gonna be a classic

  36. probably one of the best roots albums to date…thank you jimmy fallon for depressing the roots so much with your bad jokes, giving them the pain they need to compose a classic ha

  37. I hope Phonte is rapping, was hoping to get to sneak peek at his contributions but oh well, it will make buying the album so much more exciting! This is going to be dope!

  38. These dudes are so cold, straight up. That Dear. GOD track is extra heavy. Plus, the big homie blu is actually rapping on this bitch. Theses guys are vets in the game. Stayed the same the whole way through. Gotta r-e-s-p-e-c-t that.

LOVE, LIVE, LIFE. Shout out to all my real hip-hoppers
    Holla at your Gwala

P.S.- Black Thought should start coming up in more “Who’s the best MC in the game?” conversations

  39. I live and die by the roots and I cant wait till next tuesday and this will probably be my album of the year too but to whoever said recovery was terrible I beg to differ. To the guy that said The Roots suck and there are better groups out like the ones you mentioned … wow …

  40. THIS IS DEFINITELY LONG OVERDUE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE ROOTS!!!!!! BOUT DAMN TIME!!!!!!!!!

  41. the day track sounds amazing.

  43. I will be at the store as the store opens Tuesday for this one! D@Mn.

  44. BLU!

  45. Dammm it’s good to hear some new Blu. The album sounds smooth as hell.

  46. Mr. Trotter is ill. The Roots overall set a standard for what HipHop in the 21st century should be.

  47. just from the intro, i was feelin’ this album. it seems (just a smidge) better than their past two efforts in my opinion. i like the chill vibe

  48. @chef- i mean i love the roots but your calling eminem ‘terrible’?

why can’t you just comment on the roots instead of trying to hate on ppl at the same time? ppl hatin for the sake of hatin.

  49. Quality music is back, another trip to record store (2 consecutive weeks)…..

  50. Classic

  51. The Roots (:
Blu on Radio Daze and The Day (: (: (:

  52. Honestly, this is my first real introduction to The Roots. I’ve heard a couple of their singles, and have heard all about their talent and influence, but I never really got around to giving them a good listen. And the main reason I’ve even been following this album was because of Blu being featured on two tracks.

I had no idea what I was missing. From these clips, I think I can safely say that this will be the first no-skip rap album I’ve heard since Blu’s “Below the Heavens” back in 2007.

  53. ^st. David, http://www.ohhla.com/YFA_roots.html Full discography. Enjoy.

  54. radio daze is gunna be so dope i cant get over the piano is nice

  55. this is fucking incredible.

  56. all you blu dick riders shut the fuck up. i’m tired of hearing about that lame.

  57. YEA IT LEAKED

The Roots – How I Got Over 2010-CR

  58. sounds like classic music.. hate when mither fucker talk about dudes being old.. hip hop was mature and the young dudes tried to up their maturity level so they can be part of the seen.. thats whats killing hip hop.. thinking this artform is for just the young dudes.. johnny cash can make music till he dies but rappers have to have an age limit.. shut the fuck up.. if your to young to relate then say that other wise grow up and open your mind and ears more.. and older dudes stop trying to do what the youngins are doing. just like these kids have their young dumb shit to listen to we older hip hop heads need that grown developed hip hop sound.. blu did rip it he’s one of the youngins thats stepping his mature level up. thats he’s dope.. and young music like solja boy is ass.

  59. @Magee

    Much appreciated.
