^^ I agree Jay is an average rapper now and just his name is what keeps him relevant. If you really listen to 90% of the verses Jay has spit in the last few years they are all average lyrically.
I don’t know if I heard the official version of Under Pressure, but the shit that I heard was wack. I agree. And Jay-Z has been putting himself on some pretty lame artist’s songs of late. Just like the Luda and Justin Bieber track. What a fuckin sellout. I never liked Luda to begin with, but checked for his shit from time to time. Not anymore though. Drake should have done a Bieber collabo though. Would have fit right in to his gay ass album.

I was hyped for it, but I actually agree entirely with Mek on this one. These editorials are nice, quick reads that are often on point. The comment about bowels was 100%.
Under Pressure sucks balls. Dre’s rapping is fucking terrible. Dre’s beats a fucking terrible – did you forget relapse?? Maybe Eminem’s performance kinda switces your attention, but if you listen close – that shit sucked….so what do you expect now? And the epitome of that dumb jay-z-i-wanna-be-drake-who-wants-to-be-lil-wayne style of rapping was nicki minaj’s “its going down, basement”.

really didnt think it was that bad, but a album that has been waited on for a decade cannot live up to the hype. It would have to be perfect! no matter how great the album is, people will always say that they expected more. and the track is obviously not album quality it will be much different in the official version, if there even is one..

because increased sonic quality (via mastering) will not change the overall quality of a song. a hook added in that empty slot will NOT not make that fucking wack beat any better. the only thing that’ll make that beat better is if they scrapped it and made a new beat… no added instrumentation (string sections etc.) will make that shit better, it’s dumb wack, fuck the kraftwerk sample, planet rock did it better. that’s why niggas are going crazy over a “CLEARLY UNFINISHED track”.

“People should have seen this coming, however. Dr. Dre’s work with Jay-Z has never been groundbreaking, save for “The Watcher II” and “Watch Me.”” Um…ever heard of “Still D.R.E.”? Jay ghostwrote that for Dre and Snoop. The beat was basically Scott Storch’s w/ Dre putting some finishing touches like he always does. Dude is basically the west coast Diddy. Always has been and always will be. People act like he never had D.O.C. and Snoop writing for him. Not to mention he was claiming Daz, Soopafly, Warren G and other producers beats as his own, and not even giving them co-production credits on their own beats they brought him. It amazes me how people ride his dick like he’s got real talent, but don’t give Puff the time of day. Fuck outta here!!!
