  1. Godamm!! THe Roots is on fire.

  2. FIRE!!!!! fucking awesome song. can’t wait for this.

  3. good to see a longer track list. tracks 4, 7 & 8 are the ones drawing most attention from me. i probably won’t listen to those ones if they leak; i’ll just wait until the album drops.

  4. title says it all. fire. Roots never fail

  5. Expect 5040938282 rappers to have a freestyle to this by next week watch.

  6. very nice. but man, i can not wait for the blu and phonte joints.

  7. roots kill it every time…june 22nd!!

  8. This song features Rick Friedrich too! He’s my cousin, I have to represent! (Unless they changed the final version and John Legend has the vocals now.) http://www.complex.com/blog_galleries/The-Roots-How-I-Got-Over/The-Fire

  9. John legend everywhere. Now opening up the football (bugger off americans with your “soccer”) world cup.

  10. My most anticipated album of the summer. Between this, Thank Me Later, and Reggie Noble i should have an eclectic array of hiphop to keep satisfied for the summer.

  11. damn mos def should be on this

  12. best post all day bra

  13. Ill say it again if Black Thought aint in your top 5 0r 10 then you fail at life lol.

  17. is the song How I Got Over not on the album?

    06. How I Got Over f. Dice Raw

  18. THAT WAS NUTS!

  19. the production of the two leaks from this album is near perfection…can’t wait

  20. i hope the album doesn’t leak. gonna get this when it drops in 12 days!

  21. june 22 is too long, idk what the purpose of a release date is anyway – the albums ALWAYS leak early, but mixtapes don’t – ever notice that? Just drop the music “june-ish” and announce it on your website, cut the labels out and everyone’s happy except the RIAA.

  22. How I got over >>>>>>>> Recovery

Black Thought >>>>> Eminem…….Real Rap…here it is…With distant relative and How I Got over…Hip Hop is looking real good

  23. @ cwilliams134

Agreed. Real hip hop, real music.

  24. Blu is making POWER MOVES right now.

  25. black thought>>>your favorite rapper(s) period. not mc’s just rappers. you know, the ones that are on mainstream radio 24/7 or their videos shown on b.e.t. or mtv constantly (dumb down shit.)

  26. Can.Not.Wait.For.This.
Blu and The Roots!?! Gonna be fuckin’ crazy!

  27. “the production of the two leaks from this album is near perfection…can’t wait”
    there are four leaks.

  28. This will be Album of The Year. Period.

Also, I concur that Black Thought >>>

  29. not enough comments on this. song is insane.
web 20/20 is gona be black thought blacking out

  30. Take notes you tofu eatin, half steppin, fashion rappers. This is a song. And it is dope.

  31. This is my shit man. Lifetime anthem material.

    Chorus:
    There’s something in your heart,
    … in your eyes
    It’s the fire, inside you
    Let it burn

    You don’t say good luck
    You say don’t give up
    It’s the fire, inside you
    Let it burn

Yeah, and if I’m ever at the crossroads
And start feeling mixed signals like morse code
My soul start to grow colder than the North Pole
I try to focus on the hole on where the torch goes
In the tradition of these legendary sports pros
As far as I can see I made it to the threshold
Lord knows I waited for this a lifetime
And I’m an icon when I let my light shine
Shine bright as an example of a champion
Takin the advantage never coppin out or cancelin
Burn like a chariot, learn how to carry it
Maverick, always above and beyond average
Fuel to the flame that I train with and travel with
Something in my eyes say I’m so close
    To having a prize
I realize I’m supposed to reach for the sky
Never let somebody try to tell you otherwise

    Chorus:
    There’s something in your heart,
    … in your eyes
    It’s the fire, inside you
    Let it burn

    You don’t say good luck
    You say don’t give up
    It’s the fire, inside you
    Let it burn

One love, one game, one desire
One flame, one rhyme, one fire
    Let it burn higher
I never showed signs of fatigue
    Or turned tired
Because I’m the definition of tragedy turned triumph
    It’s David and Goliath
I made it to the eye of the storm
Feeling more like they fed me to lions
Before time start to wind down like the Mayans
I show ‘em how I got the grind down like a science
It sounds like a riot on hush
It’s so quiet, the only thing I hear is my heart
I’m inspired by the challenge that I find myself standin eye-to-eye with
To move like a wise warrior and not a coward
    You can’t escape
The history you was meant to make
That’s why the highest victory is what I’m meant to take
    You came to celebrate
    I came to …
I hate losing I refuse to make the same mistakes

    The fire, the fire…

    Chorus

    You say don’t give up
    It’s the fire, inside you
    Let it burn

    The fire, inside you (x3)

  32. I know it’s crappy but that’s my best shot at a copy of the lyrics
