  1. Drake obviously doesn’t follow Twitter very much because people have been destroying his album the past couple days on Twitter. The reviews and tweets have not even been kind of good. With that said I have the album and I think for the most part it’s dope. There is a couple songs that got trashed but I like 12/14 songs on the album. I think people just want to hate his album and therefore hated it before they even gave it a chance. If you have a car with a good sound system bump the album in your car and it will give you a whole new outlook on the album. I liked it on my Mac but I really liked it in my whip.

  2. Ive already posted this a few times on Drake related posts so sorry for repeating, but Ive written a track by track review on Thank me later on my blog at http://www.hiphopfiend.wordpress.com so please check it out if you are interested..thanks to 2dopeboyz

  3. First name Album, last name Lamest

  4. Where the fuck can i download it!!!???

  5. Co-signature Snagz!

However, Drake followed suit, and just gave J.cole headsz-I know it is only right to mention Cole in a drake post, isn’t it.

“My first album had no famous guest appearance”

  6. too bad TML sucks.

One of the most boring debuts Ive heard in a while

  7. Drake is smart… don’t pay too much attention to critics in the beginning.. because you can’t please everyone.. I wouldn’t give a fuck what half the people on twitter say lol because someone is gonna like my product anyway.. thats all that matters

  8. Snagz<yea u can never appreciate a song fully just on laptop speakers.

  9. Drake’s album is good. A LOT of features for a debut but if he wasn’t the guy that released a near classic mixtape (so far gone), people would probably love TML. I think his issue is overexposure prior to its release, IMO.

  10. WHY DOES THIS NIGGA LOOK LIKE AN ALBINO AVATAR?

Anyway, All Hate Aside…I Aint Download the album, his new shit just isnt the shit I like…But I hope he sells a nice amount of records tho…

  11. I never watched him interviewed before, I figured he’d have some charisma. I’ve seen documentaries where they interviewed rape victims that didn’t look as shook as Drake in this video. Fuck is up?

  12. Haters are more vocal than people who praise, mostly because haters got that superiority complex. Drake will do good numbers, and Drake will still be getting radio play no matter what, and any song that comes out with his name attached to it will still blow up on the rap-blogosphere and get at least 100 comments. He has nothing to worry about.

  13. Drake not knowing about the album leak? Highly UNLIKELY. I’m pretty sure this was apart of their whole mareketing ploy. Because in all honestly, the ppl that were going to buy the cd when it dropped are STILL GOING TO BUY THE CD REGARDLESS. Think about his tour that he just pulled. Almost EVERY SHOW was sold out..and tickets for that bitch were NOT CHEAP…@ the SF venue the cheapest tickets were like 80 bucks and those were upper level. So if he’s got fans that are willing to pay 80+ dollars for a show ticket..u know damn well they’re all going to buy his album. Dude’s got a bigger following than weezy right now…and look at whan numbers The Carter 3 pulled after the leak.

—ANother theory….lets say the album sales dont reflect the Hype that Drake is on…….and it flops.then you can blame the leak for that…..leaking the album was Drakes safety cushion imo.

  14. @JamesSpeaksWisdom your completely right and i cannot believe people are saying it sucks and drake isnt good i mean its your opinion but the ones that are saying that havent heard the album and probably are on eminem’s dick lying to themselves saying that new song that came out today was not completely ASS

    TML > Recovery

  15. Drake is Dope. and the album is dope. if u like hip hop u will like the album. the only fags who dont like it are the morons that love wocka flocka, gucci mane, and basically any nigga that says real ignorant shit on the mic with no skill. Drake isnt the best rapper alive but hes damn good and can make good music.

  16. lmao @ gbreeze
“Drake is Dope. and the album is dope. if u like hip hop u will like the album. the only fags who dont like it are the morons that love wocka flocka, gucci mane, and basically any nigga that says real ignorant shit on the mic with no skill”
Could you be any more incorrect? bwahahahahha holy shit

  17. chris is another moron who is completely off. some of you kids really have no idea do you

  18. with that in mind. its a good POP album. rapping wise? haha this nigga said shut it down.. onyx. come on hes regressed lyrically and on purpose just for ease of listening. money is money folks and if you want to spend it on the same shit as 13 year old girls, thats on you.

  19. good album, slower paced than I thought it’d be but shit is still nice. he’ll do his numbers, fuck the haters.

  20. Gbreeze, pull your head out of your ass.

What’s funny to me is that the most recent T.I. mixtape is about 300 times more interesting than Drake’s album. And I don’t even like T.I.

TML isn’t a “bad” album, it’s just boring as fuck.

  21. I think Drake will still do big numbers despite the leak. I wrote a song-by-song review of Thank Me Later. If anyone’s interested: http://www.hiptics.com/2010/06/02/drake-thank-me-later-the-first-review-of-drakes-debut-album/

  22. LOL George Clooney because it doesn’t have uptempo beats, drug/gun lyrics or club tracks it’s boring? Off yourself.

  23. george you really are as dumb as you look. t.i. is lightyears away from a drake. keep dreaming

  24. lmao @ wordnigga and neo

both of them are average at best. christ some of you kids really don’t delve into the genre at all do you? I feel bad for you

  25. shit boring cus he aint saying shit …

  26. I think he’s just different, and he’s getting critize mostly because of the lyrics, when he talks shit bout others, one of them been tupac, ppl talk bout his music, the radio palyed music, but he def has more shi* than u haven heard, u really need to go through the past albums, he has different flows and different beats, my bf was a hater, I showed him some other songs and now he’s claiming lol

  27. I think he’s just different, and he’s getting critize mostly because of the lyrics, when he talks shit bout others, one of them been tupac, ppl talk bout his music, the radio palyed music, but he def has more shi* than u haven heard, u really need to go through the past albums, he has different flows and different beats, my bf was a hater, I showed him some other songs and now he’s claiming lol and TWITTER seriously!! Ofcourse he’s not a follower, he actually has a LIFE!!!!

  28. Not getting his album unless someone tells me his flow is better than that boring shit he brings to the table.

First name Album, last name Lamest
I Nick All Week said this on June 3rd, 2010 at 8:09 pm

    /cosign

  29. @I Nick All Week ; FAIL

  30. JUST ME OR WAS DRAKE HIGH AS FUCK!!
HEARD THE ALBUM.. FREAKKIN LOVING IT!

  31. LOL, drake is wack… he so boringgg

  32. at the end of the day an opnion is just that, fact and truth is what is paid attention to, the dude got die hard fans and a strong team behind him, life happens gotta play your cards, and for everything someone hates about you another will love, live your life let the haters worry.

  33. So far gone had all ur pussies wet tho? now hes on tv and your actn like your too good to listen to his music? fall the fuck back. 13 year old girls? you know too much about this guy to be a hater. lol you guys even know his lyrics and think its cool to flip them cause your so bored with your life and your music.

  34. i agree with lav…that i think the biggest reason for hate is his overexposure…thats why i “hated” him…now i “hate” him cause i frankly don’t care what he has to saw in his music…

his album is still gunna sell…and if it doesnt hit the heights its SUPPOSED to…itll still smash the numbers of …say…my boy shad k…oh well…

go get your money drake…but i can’t lie im going to die cause every whip will be playing TML ALL SUMMER LONG…again…overexposure

  35. Good commercial album.
It generally wouldn’t meet the expectations of those like me that have followed the kid since RFI.

  36. can some1 post a link where i can listen to this “leaked” album, thanks

  37. Unfortunately for Drizzy he was plagued by major over exposure prior to releasing an album.

The album, IN MY OPINION, was way below expectable for the amount of praise he has gotten and the popularity he has built.

In short, the album was mediocre at best!

However, because of how everyone and their mother is on this niggas nuts it will probably be immediately considered as a hip-hop classic not because of its content but because of bullshit like sells. That is however, how his boss got to where he is today. My hope is that everyone buys the album and see just how far Drake missed the bar.

  38. I still like Drake though. His lyrical ability is proven, I just think he is in the wrong camp. I think that his camp is stumping his intellectual growth.

  39. i’ve only listened to it a couple times and i think it’s pretty solid. i like that most of the production is done by 40 and Boi-1da, keeping that ambient, slow-tempo SFG vibe. it has a good amount of features, but they work. conceptually it has a very nice pacing (even with a 7 minute version of Shut It Down and 5 out of the 14 songs being over 5 minutes long.) even the elecronic, almost minimilist/industrial RnB songs seem to work with Drake’s singing/rapping combination. i’m feeling it and it seems like the type of album that will grow with repeated listens, it’s got a lot of layers and i think it’s definitely worth checking out/copping. get it while you can:

  40. i never post here but the comments on this site are getting ridiculous. i don’t understand all the hate for this man, yet i haven’t been a fan since comeback season and i’ll admit his music is lackluster at best since. however, back in 07/08 everyone was claiming him to be canada’s best kept secret and one of the best new cats in the underground rap scene. however, that was also when he was jocking k-os style. that style got him notoriety but not mainstream attention. in order to make money in this industry you have to make music that appeals to people outside of hip hop elitists. other than fashawn, blu, co$$ and j.cole what other young mc’s can yall honestly say are better than dude, and have a more impressive catalogue? those idiots who claim big sean is nicer are delusional and if you just go back to room for improvement and comeback season you can clearly see this guy has a lot more depth than he’s showing.

honestly, i think it all has to do with who he aligned with in the industry. signing with wayne he lost a lot of artistic integrity. to me the album sounds a lot like so far gone but dumbed down and focused solely on tracks about his lifestyle, which were the most popular tracks on the mixtape (successful, uptown, best i ever had). If you want a real hip hop album wait til fashawn or blu drop their shit.. otherwise pray that j. cole doesn’t follow in drake’s footsteps..

  41. seriously tho if you basing the public opinion on the few (yes few) of the whole who sit on twitter and would actually tweet how much they hate something.. then really do live on the internet. how many people think really have a twitter? of the hudnreds of millions of people that might have heard a drake song how many you think are on twitter? whether its niggas in the hood or white girls in a catholic school, people like drake and using twitter as an album review is funny.. standup.

  42. Why duke look scared of the camera though? Where did he acquire this accent from when he sounded like your average white Canadian in his late teens? What kinda black men has a haircut with no shape up as a teen? Not hiphop.

  43. ^answer: who cares. it isn’t relevant to the music; way to enforce stereotypes.

    S M H

  44. I love how everyone is just artificially inserting their own definition of what hiphop actually is.

  45. People can hate on him all they want. Whether you like it or not, he’s gonna do big numbers with his debut album. Just that fact alone must make the haters want to quit at life.

  46. Damn people od 2dope suck. whack this whack that i j cole this real hiphop that. dude…yall need to start removing tampos real fast. hate less…live happier

  47. dude looked mad tired in this interview. or bored. or sad the album leaked.

  48. “I DIED” THIS SONG IS SICKKKKKKKKKK! http://usershare.net/8ex5lowbc6iu REAL HEARTFELT HIP HOP.

  49. I wouldn’t call it a hip hop album either, it is more pop(ular) music than anything! Just because it has someone spitting a couple of bars doesn’t make it a hip hop album…or was that one Robbie Williams album a hip hop album too?? With that being said, it is a good listen, no matter how you categorize it. give the man some room to breathe!

Also, shouldn’t it be “last name ALBUM, first name LAMEST”, you illiterate fucks?! HAHAHAHA

  50. The internet killed hip hop. Bottom line. If you like Drake as an artist support his movement, if not keep you 13 bucks and spend it else where. Simple as that. People feed in to what everybody else says.

  51. drake seems high in thisss haha drizzyyy. buy the album!

  52. @shyguy – co-sign but i enjoyed anyway. he just traded in some lyrical dexterity for more musical ideas though.

  53. Nickelus F > Drake

  54. well actually when u think about all of lil waynes songs did leak off carter 3 but what did he do…made a completely new cd which waz wayyy better den dem other songs dat got leaked..i aint sayn drake wud redew all his songs..but I Wud bcuzz his songz now r really average at best

  55. After my review of the album, people said I was harsh on the Up All Night track with Nicki Minaj, so Ive written a full review of that track, please check it out http://hiphopfiend.wordpress.com/2010/06/04/drake-ft-nicki-minaj-up-all-night-revisited-review/

  56. Why is everyone going on about him being camera shy? He is clearly tired as hell, and is in dire need of a nap.

  57. This interview is just as boring/lame/monotone as his album. What an all around boring fuck. And how is he anything like Nas, Jimi, Jay or any other worthwhile entertainer? Those guys all have character. Reality check motherfuckers…Drake is nothing but a popstar.

  58. im surprised nobody mentioned this!

Q:How do you feelin about the release(of your debut album)
A:Drake-”Umm im excited ya know, its an honor to make this dream come true for Wayne”

FOR WAYNE!?! Wtf!? Tell me he didn’t just say that! Idk what else to say after hearing that! In the words of Officer Ricky from youtube…”he said that shit!?”

  59. How you feelin* my bad

  60. “First name Album, last name Lamest”

Wow. If you’re going to criticize someone’s work at least come correct with your grammar.

That said, I’m interested to see how publications will review the album.

  61. @UFKG – Yeah that kinda made me raise my eyebrow too lol.

  62. why we talk bout leaks like they matter if u gonna buy it u do….and if u not u dont buy it anyway so this changes nothin people just downloaded it a week earlier.

  63. Man must be doing something right to have people debating over his leaked album that even people who claimed to hate drake put their dick down and paused there pornhub video to download….

  64. Drake looks like a fish.

  65. Kid Icarus, George Clooney, & UFKG* are about the only people who have any sense here. Drake is not Hip Hop. He’s an R&B singer in a corny as squad who happens to have a co-sign by a past-his-prime rapper who’s trying to stay relevent (sorry George Clooney). Children, to convince yourself otherwise is complete ignorance. No one likes to accept that something they’ve believed in isn’t really what they thought it was, but you’re avoiding the inevitable. And besides that, Drake’s voice is nails on a chalk board and the leaks are booooring. And if 1M teenagers buy his album, that still doesn’t mean he’s good. Good Day.

  66. @Chris
how the fuck you gone say TML > Recovery when you only heard 2 songs?!?!?!?!?!?!

  67. at the end of the day this shit was fucking corny. nigga reaks of poser. clown ass nigga. wheres max b?

  68. JUST GOT THE NEW ALBUM HAHA!!

  69. lol that boy smoked the fukk out!!! nice accidental reference to ali vegas, ” i feel like nas, i feel like jay ” i dunno why dudes hatin the album is on the same par as So Far Gone if u liked that why would u hate T M L…

  70. Best track IMO is Fireworks…
Thank Me Now was decent though,

  71. dope album, slower than i anticipated, every track has a vibe to it and sounds like there was effort put into making each track. sounds mad dope in a good sound system, the bass and layers sound crisp and clean

  72. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH-LMAO! Wanna hear it! Here it go!
