The building behind him is the renaissance center which is GM world headquarters. That last album was garbage. Hopefully Em will rep the D with this one
i dunno why all yall hatin on relapse… Relapse was a great fucking album!!! i dont care wat yall say!!! he still had it lyrically in relapse. and the accent aint even that bad. its just a fucking accent get over it!!!
ANYWAYYY
im sure recovery will be classic (artwork is [2]dope)
couldn’t of sed it any better cam Relapse was mad sick…em is the only rapper who says what everyone else is afraid to..the dude rapped about raping bitches shits crazy….Recovery Bitch……..
JMR, you’re comment is idiotic. Most people and MCs probably don’t think about rapping bitches or constant murdering. I’m not discredting him, his work, or his ethic; just you’re idiotic comment.
I was a shady fan, But his latest verses of just rhyming shit that rhymes is terrible, he says nothing in his verses now. and you guys have the nerve to hate on drake, whoopie etc. SMH
Fuck man…i hate these nigger sites….all these fucking black people talking about rap. u know what i hate about black people? that smell they have…its this indescribable smell and its not even good. its just weird. and why are nigger girls so loud? theyre so fucking fat and ugly. they walk around, yelling and singing like the fags they are. WHITE POWER BIATCHES. LONG LIVE MAKTUB
Em can be hated, loved, etc. what ever. His mind is on another planet. I’m fucking hyped to see what he’s got in store. The Album cover is just a fucking sign.
I take it as he is recovering in front of everyone, like he is recovering in the spotlight through his music…he’s in his glass house in front of everyone.
Yeah you can tell by what a lot dudes say on here that they are white. I would say more than half the people that post comments on here are white. I am not hating either I have no problem with white people, it’s you can tell by the people who really stay on B.o.B’s dick and Drake’s dick that they are white. I have lived in a ‘urban’ enviorment my whole life and dudes where I live don’t bump B.o.B and if they do listen to Drake it wouldn’t be “Find Your Love” Drake which seems to be a hit on this site. lol
Basically I am just saying for the most part white people’s idea of good hip hop is different from people who actually come from the urban lifestyle. White people love that YM shit and the backpacker shit because it’s really the only hip hop they can realistically relate to. I still don’t understand how a white kid from the suburbs can bump Distant Relatives and say he can relate to the music. lol
1) The first one as I see it pretty much depicts the road to recovery… simple enough
2)The second one depicts what the world has become. People sit on their couch maybe read a book and mindlessly watch TV & live in the little bubble or plastic box living a conservative lifestyle. They just watch what’s on the tv and are pretty much fed their information without thinking for themselves. He’s reading a book also which is another way to in a sense limit personal thinking because books just repeat the same old themes with nothing new, it’s not thought provoking. And the plastic box pretty much shows that theirs a world around them but they’d much rather stay inside and watch as it progresses.
Both are nice, but I’m not so sure he’s keepin that June 22nd date.
The buzz for Not Afraid (imo) isn’t that major enough to generate the a substantial # of sales he gets when he drops a single. It seems like they’e relying on buzz alone right now, but we do have a month left.
If Interscope does go ahead with it, I’ll be surprised..
hahaha @Rezo im mexican, anyway my friend is white and lives in the burbs and bought Distant Relatives and he cant relate to it ha good shit. But i like B.o.B he makes good music. it might not be the definition of good hip hop but its good music.
With the tall skyscraper in the background. The large corporations who make money off of people’s inability to resist the corporate worlds influence. We buy their products when their not good for us. Things like cigarettes, and fast food while they sit back and recline in their private jets, watching Hawaiian sunsets, or maybe take a random trip to foreign areas just cause they can. All because we as a people give in to the temptation of their advertisements.
I agree with most of your comment, I don’t live directly in the city or anything, but go to school there and I don’t know anyone who bumps that Bobby Ray shit. Not to sound racist or anything, but you don’t find many black people singing along to Airplanes
you don’t fucking HAVE to relate to the fucking music. As long as you understand it, and APPRECIATE the Artist’s work, you can listen to it, and like it. How many people here have done ONE thing towards helping ANYONE or ANYTHING in Africa. because that would be physically relating towards. D.R. music doesn’t have rules.
First off, just so you know who you’re reading this from, I’m a 21 year old white kid who grew up in an exurb of Fort Lauderdale; no urban upbringing, whatsoever.
It’s not always about relating to it. I’ve listened to Distant Relatives quite a few times now. My personal reason for loving it is for the knowledge that can be gained and being able to empathize with it. I’m not a girl so obviously I can’t have babies, but that doesn’t mean I should turn a deaf ear to it every time someone talks about it. IMO, Nigger > Distant Relatives, but that may not be so to you. There are two different messages in both of the albums; both are pro-black, but they pass the message in different ways. Nigger is much more forceful; the album title makes that obvious. “Testify” is a DAMN good song and it gets his message across by drawing more sympathy; more DR-ish. This is kind of an incomplete post, but I’m ending it here, anyway, because you can get the gist of what I’m saying.
I listen to B.o.B. (I prefer him as Bobby Ray because his musical skills are better portrayed with that rather than his rapping) and I listen to Eminem. “Not Afraid” is lightyears beyond all of Relapse. He can obviously rhyme circles around anyone that I’ve ever heard rap and his flow is disgusting. Hip-Hop really doesn’t live in the mainstream anymore; ergo, i don’t listen to the radio unless i’m at a party and/or wasted because I don’t want to hear that Ignorant Shit (Jay-Z included).
I took my time to write to you because you seem like a guy who would actually listen. Just know that there are still us white kids out here who appreciate your definition of real hip-hop.
@ Jon Anderson…theres no such definition of “real” hip hop…”real hip hop” and “fake hip hop” is all based off of opinion, no fact..some might think Drake’s shit is just as real as Wu-Tang Clan
bro i dont know what being white black asian whatever has to do with any of this. People generally listen to the music that people around them listen to simple as that. If you hang with guys who never gonna leave the old block you are gonna listen to the same music with the same message you always have. But if at some point you go away and learn about other people and ideas you become more opened minded and can relate in many ways to what an artist is saying in their songs whether that artist is gucci, nas, B.o.B. Race has nothing to do with this. same happens to white people who grow up only listen to country and never expand their world beyonf what is directly in front of them. I go to college and meet many different people from different backgrounds and what amazes me is the diversity of musical tastes everyone has. I myself can honestly say that i can truly relate and appreciate music from all artists in one way or another in all genres. It just trips me out how people always bring race into everything. Oh and Underground by eminem was one of the biggest songs of the summer in my area heard it in all the dudes cars, in a black neighborhood.
dope Im a big fan of this album by Em, Just Blaze says its fire and I honestly believe it.
Eminem is a genuine MC and I’m glad he is white to show people that race doesn’t matter but sometimes people make a matter of it and that is the epitomy of human fuckedupness
If you think you can tell what race someone is by how they are typing then you have something in you that truely is what every racial slur is actually aimed at. Race doesn’t matter, morality does. The only race is human, and no matter what we can’t take back what our ancestors have done. African Blacks sold blacks to whites and out of that came a wonderful nation. There is much tragedy but if I had lived in those days I wouldn’t have stood for it and now I don’t stand for ANY type of racism. I have dedicated my life to accepting everyone and I have not been let down so far, Get a fucking clue, you ignant ass muthafu%^a!
Your experience is miniscule in value. You haven’t heard black people singing the girly ass Paramore part of Airplanes, so that means blacks don’t like B.O.B.
Obviously you don’t live near a city in the south you ignant ass muthaf^#$%!
HAHAHAHAH You’re experience as explained by you as no relevance online or in real life. HAHAHAHA You go to school in a city, wow can we hear more about that broad and wise world view? not.
left one looks like it was snatched out from the 8 Mile archives, right one is cool,i’ll probly buy that one. although i have no idea what it means…. glass house mabey?
Damn so much racism. Who are you to tell me what I can and cannot relate to, just because the color of my skin? Do I relate to “Gangster” rap. Hell no. And I don’t listen to it. Does anyone relate to it? Hardly. Do any of you really ride around shooting people daily? negative.
All other hip-hop can be related to by any one. Most music, especially hip-hop, is about struggles. EVERYONE has struggles. We all relate. Some of it is uplifting. Everyone can use some of that some times. We all relate.
Yeah I’m white, yeah I listen to B.o.B. IMO he makes good music with a good uplifting message. If you can’t relate to wanting to do good and be happy, then you have way more problems than the color of your skin. It’s 2010 people, enough with the racism.
By the way. Covers are great. Music better be on some Eminem Show classic ish.
so he walking that straight path and removing himself from any negative influences of the outside… not that complicated is it? patiently waiting for this shit to drop (no pun intended haha). peace.
LOL @ ppl bashing Eminem, Bobby Ray, and Drake.
Just because they aren’t talking about “busting guns” or killing each other or “slangin crack” or “sippin on [insert popular liquor here],” it isn’t real hip-hop….smh!
gottah agree with rezo, allot of peepz cant connect to types of music that the have no idea what it really means. i bump allot of j.cole cause the dude seems to be speaking directly to me. most other types of music are just entertainment, i dont wana be thinking so much every time i listen to music. i’m from barbados in the carribean and i get all my shit from online and never listen to the radio.
both are dope. can’t wait for the album. gunna be dope. stop hatin’ on Relapse. Relapse was a masterpiece you just have to appreciate it for what it is
@ Rezo
Go fuck yourself you racist bastard. You are the most ignorant fucker to walk this earth. Your just jealous because:
1. The white population is rich as fuck
2. 99% of black women are ugly, fat, extremely loud, I could hate on nigger bitches all day
3. The best rapper alive is white
Now all you wanna-be goons can call me racist all you want, I don’t give a fuck about what you all say
Since when did all white people have bread??……The society of white folks musta forgot about me Cause I’m white and can barely afford my car payment, lol
Someone send me my cut off the white mans money, its not fair ya’ll leave me out here hangin like this!!!
IF YOUR WHITE YOU CAN’T LISTEN TO RAP. THAT IS REZO’S POINT BECAUSE HE IS A FUCKING RETARD AND THINKS YOU HAVE TO LIVE EXACTLY HOW EVERY RAPPER PORTRAYS THEIR OWN LIFE WHICH IS ALSO FUCKING RETARDED.
+1 on that FUHNAHTIK. I must have fucked up mirrors. I see white, but there’s no green…
@BrochoCinco I hope your fucking around with point number 2. 99% of ALL women are undesirable in some way. But they are all beautiful in one way or another.
I agree with wat 1 dude said,,,since when did what type of music people relate to have to do with skin color? And not everybody listens to music they can relate to… Illmatic’s my faverite album of all time but I’ve never been to New York and can’t relate to any of the lyrics on that album but the lyricism, wordplay, creativity, imagery, story-telling, production, and overall mic skills throughout that album is perfect and the best I’ve ever heard
1 : a subculture especially of inner-city youths who are typically devotees of rap music
2 : the stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rap; also : rap together with this music
SMH at half of these comments. I listen to everything from DMX old shit to Wu to Nas to Cudi to B.o.B to Mos Def to Black Keys to Led Zeppelin to 50, Ye, and Pac. Music is music. It’s an art, and any real fan of music can appreciate a good song regardless of genre. Being white or black has nothing to do with how you relate. Who cares if I’m black and like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
@ Rezo…First of all color generally doesn’t have anything to do with tastes in music. I’m White and from New Hampshire and grew up on ATCQ, Nas, Biggie, and Em, I have boys in Harlem who think Jae Millz and Juelz Santana are 10 times better than J. Cole and think that Elzhi’s wack, and they’re black. Color ain’t got shit to do with your ear for music, for the majority it does, but thats only because everyone’s a fucking idiot. Also sounds is blind, music shouldn’t really have a color, but thats another story. Just thought that it’s pretty ridiculous when I have boys in Detroit and NYC who grew up in the “urban” setting and they think Jae Millz of all people should be top five dead or alive. Fuck outta here.
I’m just going to ignore everyone’s ignorance and comment on what the post is about.
1st cover speaks for itself.
I think the 2nd cover actually shows that for him to recover, he had to seclude himself in his ownself in that “box” to keep him from the outside world.
Eminem is not very good. All he can do is rap really fast and talk about raping and killing people. Every once in a while he has a inspirational song, like Not Afraid, or Lose Yourself, but for the most part it comes off corny and forced. He should have quit after his Encore
to the kid who said Not Afraid hasnt generated enough of a buzz for the album to sell good.. you’re retarded.. not afraid was #1 on itunes for like 2 weeks and debuted on the billboard at #1.. smfh at you!!!!!!!!! album covers look dope as fuck! i wonder why their are 2 tho
I guarantee if everyone that’s sayin that B.o.B is garbage have only heard a handful of his songs, most likely the mainstream stuff like “Nothin on You,” “Airplanes” and shit. And I also guarantee that your just turned off by the chorus on “Airplanes” cause there is no disputing that B.o.B’s verses are sick. I dare you to listen to any of his mixtapes like Hi! My name is B.o.B, Who the Fuck is B.o.B, B.o.B vs. Bobby Ray or the May 25th Mixtape or even some of his shit that isn’t mainstream off the Adventures, and come back still saying he’s not garbage or not talented… ignorant.
You gotta love the reactions eminem gets outta people, either they love him to death or hate him with a passion……… Thats what all good artists are suppose to do
fuck all niggers!…find a rope and lynch your high jumping black ass….and help rid this earth of the fuckin black stains that u all are…and allow us 2 breathe air without having 2 take a second in between breathes because of the fuckin fowl stench u damn tree climbin zimbobaway yelling porch-monkeys naturally produce..!!!!…BLACK POWER!!aMEN..!
Alright, I’ve heard enough bitching and moaning about how the cover art sucks so I’m running a contest on my website to redesign the cover however you like. Winners will receive a copy of the album.Check it out:

On that note, dope covers.

Quit thinking eminem is trying to give us a message that deep. he said it himself he doesn’t care about the world around him.
I’m gonna take it as, he sat at home reading and watching tv while the econonmy went to shit. hence the GM building in back of him.

@DonDraper lollllll
good shit em good shit
lol looks like theirs a race war in the c-section. prolly cause of that boondocks episode!
looks promising
fuck people talking about white vs black shit.
Really has nothing to do with Em’s artwork, but lol at people who think Bobby Ray is a good musician.
pretty generic looking…songs hot tho. canibus>>>>>>>>eminem
Classic album cover. Hope album is too. I’m waiting for his singles to decide whether to buy because I’m not wasting any more of my money for garbage.
@ Jon Anderson…theres no such definition of “real” hip hop…”real hip hop” and “fake hip hop” is all based off of opinion, no fact..some might think Drake’s shit is just as real as Wu-Tang Clan

gottah agree with rezo, allot of peepz cant connect to types of music that the have no idea what it really means. i bump allot of j.cole cause the dude seems to be speaking directly to me. most other types of music are just entertainment, i dont wana be thinking so much every time i listen to music. i’m from barbados in the carribean and i get all my shit from online and never listen to the radio.
both are dope. can’t wait for the album. gunna be dope. stop hatin’ on Relapse. Relapse was a masterpiece you just have to appreciate it for what it is
I like bothe covers…
I just don’t see what either has to do with Recovery.
Well… Maybe the 2nd one.
I like the 2nd one best, Em still the best rapper out in the mainstream, cant wait for recovery
Gangsta, I guess Em just listens to music with only a subwoofer? I don’t see any speakers lurking around his clear box.
@BrochoCinco care to send any of that rich white $$ to me? I’m one, but not the other. Not yet anyway, we’ll see.
I like the 2nd one alot, but thats just because i think Detroit is dope as fuck.
@ BronchoCinco
Since when did all white people have bread??……The society of white folks musta forgot about me Cause I’m white and can barely afford my car payment, lol
Someone send me my cut off the white mans money, its not fair ya’ll leave me out here hangin like this!!!
Lotta crap coming from Rez. You can tell he’s a small-minded-still-living in the 18th century clown. Still seeing the world as black and white. Fail
And not everybody listens to music they can relate to… Illmatic’s my faverite album of all time but I’ve never been to New York and can’t relate to any of the lyrics on that album but the lyricism, wordplay, creativity, imagery, story-telling, production, and overall mic skills throughout that album is perfect and the best I’ve ever heard
racists are actually just a specific type of idiot, a bi-product of society perhaps
THERE IS NO EXACT DEFINITION OF HIP HOP YOU IGNORANT BASTIDS
stop whining
and dope covers

Every 1 Watch Him Smash The Charts! June 22nd Watch Them H8trs Eat Their Words.
Who cares if I’m black and like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
this^^^
and the Chili Peppers fuckin go lol…
ill covers too
both covers lookin goood, drakes looks like shit
LOL at DaMan…
lol @ Daman
You gotta love the reactions eminem gets outta people, either they love him to death or hate him with a passion……… Thats what all good artists are suppose to do
THIS MANY COMMENTS OVER THE ARTWORK lol
afterso many yrs eminem still got it
Second cover is about having to live your life on display. Having every facet of your life open to scrutiny.
I like the “road” to recovery. Don’t really get the other one so that makes the first one that much better.
this looks nice the 2nd 1 is super creative im diggn it
Left one is too basic, Hulk’s ending remake.
On the second one I like the glassbox-idea, but everything else in the pic I dislike.
fuck all niggers!…find a rope and lynch your high jumping black ass….and help rid this earth of the fuckin black stains that u all are…and allow us 2 breathe air without having 2 take a second in between breathes because of the fuckin fowl stench u damn tree climbin zimbobaway yelling porch-monkeys naturally produce..!!!!…BLACK POWER!!aMEN..!
Alright, I’ve heard enough bitching and moaning about how the cover art sucks so I’m running a contest on my website to redesign the cover however you like. Winners will receive a copy of the album.Check it out:

I still like the simplicity of this one:
http://cdn.2dopeboyz.com/m.php/2010/04/eminem-recovery.jpg
Smh as to why know people dig the one on the left… looks a bad country album cover to me…
Rezo got some popularity. all this cuz Em is such a fucking genius and got us all talking over his album covers.
Lupe Fiasco co-signs B.o.b. so umm……..
eminem has always been garbage and simply overrated. his sophomoric subject matters bore me.
So kevin. how the fuck does that apply to a post with album covers? Stfu. Damn haters go out they way.
i prefer the one where hes walking down the road. simple but effective metaphor for “road to recovery”
yea the walkin down the road artwork is great…unfortunately im as interested in hearing a new eminem album about as much as i am in contracting herpes
i like it, its different from all of the other ones that i have seen.
This shit grew on me
