As far as the free throw difference, that’s the results of the Suns playing zone. Less fouls happen because there’s less one-on-one defense where a player can get beat off the dribble or down low.
Great job by the Suns. They needed this game and they might have found something with the zone defense. The Lakers will adjust though, so players like Channing Frye NEED to start making shots next game to even things out.

As much as we all wanna praise the Suns, who I want to win, I laugh at the comments the zone really killed the Lakers. Yes your defense was so good it gave up 109 points?! The Lakers didn’t hit usually shots, were settling for outside jumpers, and didn’t have anyone who could really penetrate the lane to even let the refs help them which accounts for the free throws. But I do take offense for people counting out the Suns cause who was one of the hottest teams after December, Suns. Who beat the same San Antonio team they always have trouble with.People wrote them off too quickly. You can’t do that in playoffs LOLz jk only if your name is the Orlando Magic. I find it disgusting yet hilarious that Amare Stoudemire can score 42 points and get 11 rebounds on his homecourt, but couldn’t crack 20 points in LA???…I find it ironic that Phoenix went to the line, what, 47 times?? The irony is when a team like Phoenix or the Thunder went to the line almost 50 times, the Lakers lose, and that because that’s the only way to beat the Lakers if you’re not as talented as Boston. Then Robin Lopez showed up out of nowhere as if he was Jesus F. Christ coming to save them…
What was also hilarious was putting Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum in foul trouble so quickly…watching the whole game, from a non-bias viewpoint, I disagree with bad calls going both ways. If there was calls going for the Lakers, we would’ve been at the line more. The Phoenix bigs would’ve been in foul trouble…I mean, sh**, the Lakers was over the foul limit at the 9 minute mark in the first quarter.
