when i saw the previews for this last week. i knew it was going to be a good episode because of the heavy anime. i love when he draws anime its dope as fuck. when huey put that wind around the ball, im like this nigga just went super sayian… and then he actually had like a kameahmeha moment. dope….

Actually, it’s an homage to Shaolin Soccer, as a couple other in here have said. There are scenes and even moves that are directly cloned, and they attribute the birth of kickball to Shaolin monks.

Actually “mike” ^^^^ the episode is mostly based on the Samurai Champloo baseball blues episode. In case you don’t know (which u clearly dont) the same anime studeio which created Samurai Champloo, “Madhouse” also did some animation for season 2 and season 3 of The Boondocks. First of all, the overall theme of the episode is debt and paying off debt with a game, which comes directly from samurai champloo. Some actual examples of scenes taken from samurai champloo include riley pointing for a home run and striking out, the ref being paid off then killed, the tree being knocked down by the kickball, huey crushing two players with the ball in order to strike them out, the score being a tie, huey getting up and winning, and winning the game by knocking out all of the other team’s players. It is very obvious that the majority of the episode was based on and pays homage to the samurai champloo episode baseball blues.
