  20. People are reacting like this because it’s unexpected. We know Mr. Elba through the Wire, so we only see him as Russell Stringer Bell. We cannot see him as Idris Elba. It’s a testament to how masterfully he played that role.

    Meanwhile, most people don’t realize that a) dude is English b) his parents are African c) he’s been doing the music thing since he was a youth and he’s been “Driis” for a long long time.
