After a decade of hearing desperate pleas for another album, Reflection Eternal has finally orchestrated another musical opus to quench the public thirst. On May 18, Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek are scheduled to release their sophomore effort as the one emcee and one producer duo. The album, titled Revolutions Per Minute, boasts guest features from Bun B, Mos Def, Estelle, and J. Cole.
On a hectic press day, VIBE was granted access to tag along with the fellas as they hustled through Midtown Manhattan tackling media interviews before wrapping up the day with a sold-out show at the Nokia Theater with G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks.
Even with journalists and fans coming left and right with inquires about the album, the reoccurring topic of the day seemed to be Talib’s thoughts on hip-hop’s involvement in the Illuminati. During an interview on Siruis Radio, Reflection Eternal’s leading mouthpiece revealed that he was once also a believer in the existence of the scared society.
“We believed everything that we read without checking the history of the author or anything. It was in a book so we believed it, that’s the ignorance of youth,” Talib explained. But we found out later that a lot of those books are written by right wing Christian organizations because they don’t like how religion is portrayed in secular society and don’t like seeing symbolism used.”
Talib concluded by alluding to the fact that hype and mindless public perception are the only reasons that stars such as Kanye West and Jay-Z have been recently accused of being a part of the Illuminati.
