Jay Electronica Talks RZA (Video)

C’mon God! Bless us with some new music already. Not producing fruit is not Godbody! Just keep the diddy bopping on tracks to a minimum.

Jay recalls RZA calling southern rappers slow and questioning their intelligence and how he felt about that.

  1. my man… youve done an interview about this already

  2. 0:46-0:49… 9 times in 3 seconds? Damn

  3. Can I just suggest that Jay’s lack of productivity may be due to a lack of product? Everything I have heard from him is very dope, but he isn’t very prolific. Which leads me to believe that he just doesn’t have the material (or ability to create it) that people assume he does. But I don’t know, I hope he’s got more music in the shoot because I’m definitely a fan.

  4. bahahahaha, we at least have to give the man credit for not studdering all over records.

  5. Yeah, this has been covered.

I think everyone knows what RZA was sayin and in all seriousness RZA had a point. Jay E, Outkast, and a small handful of MCs are exceptions to the typical sound, subject matter, intellect, and persona of run of the mill rapper from the South. If it doesn’t apply to you then it shouldn’t bother you.

  6. (start sarcasm) AAAAW SHIT! rap beef! (end sarcasm)

  7. RZA is a legend, and Top 5 producer all time

    kthanxbai

  8. Obviously rza was excluding the standouts like 3stacks etc.

he meant the other 95% of dumbass shit that comes out of the area

  9. Eminem x Jay-Z Booked for Two Stadium Shows: http://bit.ly/cYJdHT

  10. WHERE THE FUCK IS ACT 2 FUCK

  11. How about a Jay Electronica + RZA track.

  12. Too many rappers sporting beanies right now.

But I want it. Regardless. Anyone know where to cop?

  13. How about Jay Elec stops making these fucking videos every day and drops a FUCKING TRACK. Dude is dope but I’m pretty disappointed in setting dates and then missing them by months with no explanation.

  14. Its funny how that NY was so powerful back in the day with all their artist and makin fun of the south and now the south on top amd NY is jus ehh. Cnt front tho we sum country ass mofos heeeehaaaa!

  15. And*

  16. ANy 1 who ever says south rappers r trash and lack substance r somewhat right mainstream rappers do most of them but don’t act like y’all r that much greater than us when y’all don’t know shit about the old skool underground scene of the south mainly houston & Memphis acts frm m town like Tommy wright III, manson family, koopa nicca etc.
And A long ass list of Houston rappers b4 the “candy paint” “wood gripping” ass rappers came about

with k rino who’s the greatest rappers ever
    k rino > rza easy

  20. it was it was it was it was it was…….

  21. EMINEM BREAKS RECORDS: http://bit.ly/aKk6nK

  22. 1. Have you heard Lil Boosie or snapdance before? Thats commercial southern rap

    2. Do you realize you completely bit Killah Priest “Wu Tang affliates” style?

Okay so pay dues and shut the fuck up

southern rap = ignorant slave music

  23. South still lackin!?!? Wow who NY puttin out nowadays thats gettin money besides jay-z… I’ll wait and ibet have of u on hea runnin gums is in love wit outkast, jay elec, j. cole, luda, scarface, t.i., clipse, jeezy, spitta hell even wayne! list goes on stop bein ignornat thats why NY on it’s downfall thinkin they still on top and betta then ppl smfh.

But anyway Jay Elec jus drop some mo tracks

  24. give me music and shut up. alot of southern rappers focus on radio play and spins in the club before anything else its just fact……now jay stop playing and give us more music.

  25. *yawn* I used to be high on Jay Elec. But not anymore.

  26. j. cole or clipse are not south. And the rest of those artists you named either suck or are old as fuck.

And if you wanna play the name game

Nas JayZ Biggie 2Pac (used to be from New York) Big L, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane

    wanna beat that list?

  27. did he really say who is seeing TI and Luda??

    they wack

  28. @Unxpekted Both J. Cole and Clipse are from the south even if there style is influenced from other places they are still southern rappers. And while the south turns out a lot of garbage rappers they are also responsible for some pretty dope shit. I’m starting to get annoyed with Jay Elect we get 2-3 interviews on here a week yet a song once every few months. His next project better be amazing

  29. that video only strengthened RZA’s point, what the hell is he talking about — how to grow tomatoes, when the fish are running in the river, what?

  30. ACTUALLYYY.!! J. Cole is from the south. He reps it soo shut that shit up and i dont have a list.

  31. J.cole is from North Carolina thats south, Clipse is from Virgina ummm south also guess you didnt pay attention in history class. And you ova here talkin bout old them niggas you jus named are eitha one grand dads, dead, or was born in NY but aint rep it (2pac rep cali) or will say one of dem dudes ijus named is killin the game now! I kno NY fans yall the birth place of hip hop we give u props on that but no one there is poppin (sorry) hip hop started there but damn sho not gon end there. And if u wanna go deeper than that the most talked bout person from NY is a female rapper(nicki minaj) stop livin in the past and glory days name ppl who doin it now not ppl in the early 90′s. I hav much respect for NY but how long jay gon carry yall?? (Now ibet someone gonna name a rapper no one knows outside if NY) & if luda really wanted to he can shit on ur fav rapper dnt let dat “how low” bs foo u same as t.i.

  32. Jay Elect is average. nothing too great

  33. LOL@ leave the diddy boppin to a minimum. For real though! That ish pissed me off all that ad libbin on that last record.

Financial advice +Quality HipHop + Ridicule

  34. And sorry for the paragraph but jus gotta let u niggas know SOUTH RUNNIN THIS SHIT!

  35. What part of NC isn’t the South? Even though Clipse were born in NY, VA is the South.

RZA did say that about the South and he really generalized the whole area.

  39. the fact that dudes need to name rappers from all 15 states down south to compete with the rappers from one city says it all… Still like the south tho, dont get me wrong

  40. sayin j cole and clipse are south is like saying 2pac is eastcoast because he was born there.

  41. “the fact that dudes need to name rappers from all 15 states down south to compete with the rappers from one city says it all… Still like the south tho, dont get me wrong”

100% agree. I like southern artist, except of course, the idiots that sound retarded cuz I can’t stand that thick bama accent. But NYC > 15 southern states.

  42. wtf u mean j cole and clipse arent south with the rap sounds n carolina and virginia cant really be considered south people in texas dont consider rappers from there true southern rappers according to pimp c and his opinion >>> all you lames its more atlantic

  43. lol its alot of NY rappers that sound like idiots to but i guess yall blind to the facts plus most big ny artist want to sound now anyways nicki, mims, jim , webstar pretty much all the 106 videos from people up top sound south think about the influence

  44. J. Cole is from Fayetteville, North Carolina. He went up to NYC to get his chance to shine. Smh! People are on here talking stuff & don’t even know their facts.

  45. so no jay elec on rza beats, got it

  46. And the flow has nothing to do w/ where you’re from.. I can see why some of y’all are generalizing that though.. When you hear the SOUTH you think of some snap crap commercialized music, which is utterly ashame.. But there are some great lyricists from all over. Just enjoy the music.

  47. i dont have anywhere else to troll — dopeboyz users

  48. Theres nothin to compete with lol. If u listen we talkin bout the south (all states) & NY not jus one state from the south, So wat yall talkin bout??

  49. THE NORTH WANNA TAKE CREDIT FOR ANY NICE SOUTHERN RAPPER TALMBOUT “HE WAS INFLUENCED BY THE NORTH THEREFORE….BLAH BLAH BLAH” NY IS FULL OF HATE AND BITTERNESS AND THEIR SUCCESS OUTSIDE OF JAY-Z PROVES THAT.

  50. I mean ppl from NY dnt act like Jay, fab, jim jones, diddy, busta, etc dnt make commerical muisk and shit ican rememba yall havin dance songs too (aunt jackie, chicken noodle soup) so to talk bout the south doin this and that jus ignorant cuz yall do the same shit.

  51. IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS MULTI REASONS

    Yeah, don’t question his intellect.

  52. Wacka Flocka is frm New York & raised in the A…that fool wouldve sucked no matter where he started rappin…i mean shit…look at his mother & tell me this nigga has had a good role model around since he was a shorty???…i’ll wait…but anyways there are plenty of cats down south that stay true 2 the artform of hiphop & produce good music…dnt let the shit dats being put out mainstream wise fool you…& NY cats got hella wack artists to…matter fact EVERY REGION has wack artists & sum niggas thats highly unintelligent…but yea im done ranting lol.

  53. Curren$y, Jay Electronica, B.O.B, Outkast, Scarface, UGK, Ludacris, T.I., Cee-Lo, Goodie Mob, J. Cole, 8Ball & MJG, Z-Ro, Devin The Dude, Killa Kyleon, Little Brother, Killer Mike, Kyle Lucas, Lil Wayne.

    Just to name a few…

  54. J. Electronica won’t be successful on a commercial level because major labels don’t know how to market the kind of music he makes.

  55. Uhh what about Detroit? Right now Detroit is ruling hip hop in terms of quality shit, and commercially they have Eminem. One aspect you people overlook in this region shit the producers…I’m not saying the South hasn’t had some very good producers, but who’s the best to come from the South? I guess the Organized Noize team, but compare that with NY’s legendary producers that are still doing it. Fuck it, a lot of the legends of NY’s past are still making quality music, even if there aren’t as many up and comers as there used to be. And a lot of the best southern artists (Phonte, Jay Electronica, etc.) don’t have a typical southern style…shit is so artificial, how are you gonna put music in a box like that. Good music is good music, fuck where it’s from. New York will always be hip hop’s mecca, and every region should pay respect to its history…to disrespect NY is disrespecting hip hop. Without NY, no other area would have the opportunities they have now.

  56. And another thing on this whole debate..go to a show in NY, it’s different from any other city, I promise you that. Hip hop is just alive in the streets, its everywhere, its their lifestyle…no matter what the mainstream product is at that time, NY is always doing the most for the overall culture.

  57. why now? just put out a fucking album or mixtape already!!!
(erykah stay messing rappers up, what is in that coocn???!!!!!!)

  58. not for nothing but the Clipse said on several occasions that they’re east coast rappers, they’d prolly be offended if you called them southern rappers.

And I’m not just saying that cause they from my section in the Bronx….

    BXRCNY

  59. J.Cole and clipse are not south. Virginia, new York, and fayateville are not south. I know because I have lived and have a friend living in all 3.

Ps. Southern rap is hands down the worst musical genre EVER it’s the fuckin reason hip hop I’s dead.

Uk/global hip hop > southern rap
    WEST > Southern rap
    New York > Southern rap
Any other state, Detroit whatev > Southern rap

  60. LITTLE BROTHER!!!!!!!!!! NUF SAID!!!!!!!!!

  61. Yea youre right…. Andre 3000, Bun B, Devin the Dude, B.O.B, Curren$y, Jay Electronica, T.I., Ludacris, Scarface, Big Boi, Killer Mike and the rest of those southern guys killed hip hop (sarcasm)… Radio killed that shit…

  62. Kat Stacks wears the same chain the tranny in the movie “Anger Management”

    http://gallery.celebritypro.com/data/media/688/woody-harrelson-anger-management-1.jpg

  63. Man you named like 10 artists thats ridiculous and its like the most commercial southern artists, I would put Dead Prez before any of those guys man. Your misunderstanding why southern “movement”, MOVEMENT killed it, not 10 artists who have had semi-success, plus they dont categorize in the movement that I am telling you killed it. if you cant see that, then your not educated. Go to google and type souther rap death of hip hop. Some believe its a circle and will turn around. For me I never listen to that garbage and never did. Matter fact those artists you named in my opinion are all garbage.

***Goes back to listening to Blue – Mars (dNp Remix)

  64. Jay Electronica kills me with “Down South” sympathy talk. I like this dude on the mic but he’s a whining hypocrite because he talked about his struggles throughout his career to get listened to because he had a southern droll so he continuously changed his flow and pronunciations so get by in the industry.

Umm if I’m not mistaken in his rhymes he complains again that New York cats talked shit about the south but jacking our slang.

If he is so proud of his recent rapping success (even though he has been successful in other ways in the industry by producing etc.) and his lyrical ability (that he brags about) why is every pronunciation and flow sounds like a rapper from Queens New York then? He complains that the east was jacking the south’s slang then why would he jack the eastcoast slang (rhetorical)? He used it and is still using it to gain fans, shows, videos, interviews and everything else? Niggas kill me! Stop bitching about something that you are doing everyday to be successful ass an artist. There is no hint and or indication in his music that he is from New Orleans. A place where it is impossible to ignore the southern speech. So my question is; if you’re so into your roots and breath the “south” then why don’t you rap like it. Use your cultural influences in your music. Use it in any of the following; beats you choose to spit on, pronunciation, flow, choice of topic or current south slang words.

That’s my only problem with Jay Electronica. Other than that i think he’s a hot MC. A real lyricist that has a blend of 90′s and new school.

  65. O and lastly I live in VA, I’m from the NY/CT area but I lived down here for a long while back and forth. Pretty much the DC, MD, VA area and they don’t even consider their self south. VA is the only exception because one half of VA is metropolitan and the other is real country. If anything the DC/MD/VA aka DMV area is more something like Mid-East. i mean really Washington, DC is south? I mean really have some of you been to DC? The most popular clubs etc. are exactly like NYC. Now NC is very similar in that regard but it’s harder to call NC eastcoast to be real.

This whole region is eastcoast as they come. Everything niggas do down here is eastcoast. There’s a little twang here and there with certain areas but for the most part they emulate the eastcoast vibe.

  66. Exactly definitely eastcoast and very very very far from south. never heard any DMV nigga claim south. We more Chi-NY-CT bound.

  67. I must say first and foremost that this guy UNXPEKTED is a total idiot… How the fuck you gonna say that NC and VA aint the south??? Are you serious??? Learn yourself before speaking. The man Jay Elec had a point, ALL RAPPERS FROM THE SOUTH AREN’T WACK! Don’t get me wrong there are alot of wack niggas that come from here (the south) but just because you’re from this area doesn’t mean you cant spit. Honestly, who is fucking with Andre 3000 lyrically……. EXACTLY! Electronica aint no slouch either! Face it, NY RAP IS OVER! Besides Jay-Z, Nas, Fab, Fat Joe, and Red Cafe (4/5 of them niggas is old) who ya’ll got??? Face it, there is no new talent coming out of NY!!! Hell it’s niggas coming out of Kansas and Pittsburgh of all places now and no one from NY. Check the magazines, check the blogs and see for yourself. Hip hop was born there and it died there.

And by the way, who is rza to talk about southern dialect? Have ya’ll heard this man talk??? I can barely understand anything coming from his fish mouth. Kicking that old bullshit ass knowledge. Get the fuck outta here!!!! Don’t get mad because the south runs music right now. RIP NY HIP HOP.

  68. @T.Corallo No disrespect but I could understand what your saying but don’t act like you don’t or haven’t listened to NY rap your whole life. And lastly it isn’t dead in NY what the radio wants to hear took a turn just like it turned for the west etc. The strength of eastcoast rappers in all regions (NYC and other states included that are eastcoast) is that few go for the traditional universal songs. They stay true to the cultural background they grew up on in hip-hop. Just like the south do in their music. You guys just have so many regions that some people are wak and others are super talented. It’s just such a huge coast it’s almost like their are too many!

Very few ringtone rappers, very few r&b/rap cats, very few pop oriented rappers and that eastcoast everyday gritty, fast pace music is not what radio will play. It ruled the urban radio stations for decades but now the urban radio stations branched off to being more pop with a tab of the urban sound. Those kind of rappers are booed at shows and would never survive in NY because they despise hearing glamor with mediocre lyrics. It’s just the way eastcoast people are. However, eastcoast people support south music heavily because it plays in the club.

Once upon a time urban music, street music and more played in the clubs just as much as r&b if not more. Now it doesn’t even fly anymore in the clubs. The gritty style of music is thee flaw of eastcoast MC’s popularity nowadays. That’s all. The problem is that eastcoast rappers don’t believe in changing or what they like to call “dumbing down” Believe me when the tides of rap music turn away from the south you’ll be complaining.

  69. At SHOWMAN3000, I kinda feel where u coming from but exactly what “Queens” slang is Jay jacking???? What words do they use in “Queens” that they dont use anywhere else in the universe that Jay is supposedly jacking? And just because the man is from NO doesnt mean he has to rhyme over a Manny Fresh beat lol! J. cole/Little Brother are from NC but you don’t hear them rapping over any bangladesh or nitti beats. Bottom line, CUT THE PRE JUDGING OUT! Now I will admit that northern va (dmv) is more northern than southern so i’ll give you that. But VA beach and the whole Hampton Roads area is straight up southern! If you wanna get technical, VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL are all on the eastcoast of the united states lol! We’re talking about the SOUTH/NORTH not states belonging specifically to the eastcoast fam. So that whole “they’re more eastcoast than southern” jargon does’nt make any sense.

  70. @SHOWMAN I definatley feel where you’re coming from. TRUST AND BELIEVE ME, I DO NOT SUPPORT WACK MUSIC! Whether it’s from the south or not. I hate Waka, Gucci, OJ, etc. Yes I was raised on up north music and i still prefer their music over any other region any day. I’m just upset at the people on here showcasing their ignorance in the comments. I just had to stick up for where im from (the south). Me and you can agree to disagree on this issue but idk about this UNXPEKTED character lol! But you do have very valid points fam.

  71. im from the derty south, i gots a derty house, and a derty spouse. wooooooooo

  72. @T.Corallo

O ok I see. Good perspective. Well we agree totally on this ->”TRUST AND BELIEVE ME, I DO NOT SUPPORT WACK MUSIC! Whether it’s from the south or not.”

I believe in just good music period. I think there are a lot of wak south rappers messing up what should be the correct perception of south music for good south rappers. There are so many dope ones but so many bad ones that even it out. So a mad fan will say the south suck when in all reality there are people like Jeezy, Luda, T.I., Scarface, Bun B, 8Ball & MJG, Slim Thug, Rick Ross (like him or not), Lil’ Wayne (like him or not), Field Mob, OutKast and tons more.

  73. QUESTION. Is Intelect determined by accent or vocabulary in “hiphop”(as if this just relates to hiphop), because if you turn on your local news you will notice that whenever they interview a hoodster they all have that neglected aura, ignorance is a bliss no matter where your from, but I guess you can say we can all talk about shootin niggaz up but if I have a southern drawl then the nigga slow? So the I.T. Guy from the south is slower than the I.T. guy from New York? http://tinyurl.com/hollywooddivorce

  74. I think both Jay Elec and RZA got good points. I agree with Jay that it is ignorant to say that the south is slow. I mean there are rappers from the south like Andre 3000, Scarface, Phonte etc.

Both RZA has a point in that the most ignorant and coonish music that reproduces false stereotypes about black men.

LIL BOOSIE, BIRDMAN, GUCCI MANE, OJ DA JUICEMAN, LIL SCRAPPY, MASTER P, YOUNG JOC.

So RZA definatly has a point. Although he mainly was of point. I love the south, but the south also has a lot of bullshit. Just what I feel.

  75. Jay Elec looks exactly like a fatter Mickael Pietrus.

  76. LOL the fuck brought this on? Jay really sounds bitchy bringing this up, especially since it was most likely 6 or 7 years ago. Did he think RZA was talking about 3 stacks, Scarface, Big Boi etc? Fuck outta here man.

I love Jay Elec but this just seems like the most random shit ever. Drop Act 2 nig, New Years day u said that shit was droppin! LOL

  77. No matter how many times Jay E. speaks about this issue…over & over it’s good he said what he needed to say! two things I have to say why is NYC sounding South? was the M.I.M.S money that good?

Ha,ha as a People we need to start thinking for ourselves literally.

Stereo types are hard to over come in most cases!
    http://www.datpiff.com/pop-mixtape-player.php?id=mb4d946e

  78. P!

  79. i like j elec.

  80. Ppl still sayin NC & VA not south wow lol niggas needa go back to school. But ima put this to bed NY cnt win this debate at cuz u takin on a whole bunch of states and one city who at its hard times, I listen to ny rappers but damn yall jus wanna take credit for EVERYTHING! for hip hop smh, hell if yall could yall would say thats the birthplace for jesus too. Jus relax the west had it, midwest, u nd now its the south turn to shine. And for ppl sayin ppl frm the south cnt talk u jus bein ignorant & arrogant. Its ppl that dnt kno how to talk EVERYWHERE! hav u heard the niggas from dipset talk!?!? Yall betta b perfect like yal dnt stutter gtfoh

  81. the south been runnin rap for 10 years now all you niggaz can hate but you’ll never be able to take us out the frame. WHY? because we built ourselves without any of your help how about that one? Northern va is east coast i used to live there but to say NC is not apart of the south you have to be a damn fool. have you ever been there? Im from texas the same state dj premier is from but i guess he can’t be a southern producer because he uses too many soul samples right? fuk outta here

  82. “Jay recalls RZA calling southern rappers slow and questioning their intelligence and how he felt about that.” yup I remember because RZA was right! proof: Wacka Flacka/Gucci/Ring-Tone Rap

Death to Ringtone-Rap!….anxiously waiting…Jay Electronica long player.

  83. there’s more bullshit from the south thats the issue. all the ppl with air play are bland, strait up. they talk about the same things at all times: the trap, being real, i got hella money, dances, and look at my cars. that gets boring, there’s only so much to say about 5 topics. i gotta bias though cause im from the MD so…

  84. How is New York considered a Southern State, I am guessing you went to school right?

  85. Their is so much wack shit out now its fucking up cats heads. dope music is dope muzik no matter where u from. The problem is that two many garbage mainstream rappers from the South are the ones getting radio/tv shine thus it makes the people who dont know crap about hip hop that niggas like waka flocka and gucci mane are the face of the entire genre. i LIVE IN fLORIDA SO i know what im saying

  86. @Unxpekted you clearly haven’t really listened to J. Cole he reps North Carolina and Fayetteville all the time.

  87. @DK my best friend was shot and died in Fayaetteville about 3 weeks ago, he lived there. I visited him regularly, so what is it I dont understand?

  88. @Unxpekted What you just said was completely irrelevant to the conversation the point is J. Cole is a southern rapper because he is from North Carolina which is the south. Done with this argument not going anywhere..

  89. I got fam in NC and they claim south. j cole has even repped the south in his music. clipse even said VA is southen, but they are influenced by stuff from ny. http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/archives/2010/05/pusha_t_present.php Check what pusha says in the 5th section..

  90. @Dallastx_groveside yo on the real, I never heard of K-rino in my life but this muhfucka is NICE!! WHO THE FUCK IS THISSSSSS???????????????????????

  91. i live in VA richmond Va the capital, its a city but filled with country people, i am country, dmv area is its own place, and that vibe stops like in alexandria and stafford, everything else is counrty and sourthern ie Michael vick, NC is all southern, and we have the best artists, them ny niggas always thinkin they smarter and better for no reason, Master P been showed Jay-Z how to get money

  92. wutang forever =]

  93. @ Unxpekted

YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID no one said ny was a southern state j.cole is from the south born and raised fool nc fayetteville is in the south not ny idiot NORTH CAROLINA IS A SOUTHERN STATE so is va they are both southern states learn your regions maps and geography it dont matter if you got fam there that dont mean or prove or got to do with shit it dont prove that nc is a not southern state cuz it is and thats a factss and if you argue with a fact them you are a idiot

  94. @Unxpekted
north carolina is a southern state dumbass

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carolina

  95. so are maryland and va

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_United_States

  96. The South has legends and up and coming lyricists. Radio and mainstream media has made it a point to portray southern hip-hop as slow ignorant and ringtone music. There has been a concious effort to push Gucci, OJ, Boosie, Soulja [CLUB MUSIC] as the southern style of hip hop. Listen to Screwed Up Click, Geto Boys, UGK, Outkast, Scarface, Dead Prez, Little Brother, Devin The Dude, Trae and Z-Ro, Goodie Mob, Cee-Lo. That’s what Southern rap really is. Not three or four mainstream club artist from the south that has made it big. Even now record labels decline to give a push to young southern artists like J. Cole, Curren$y, B.O.B, Kyle Lucas, Hollywood Flo$$ etc.

Southern Hip-Hop has had an inaccurate portrayal of its style for well over a decade. SMH

  97. lol rza said this like 12 yrs ago or something, either way its been along time, shit like this shouldnt get dreged back up cuz of the internet crowd and heir constant craving for unwaranted rap beef…

  98. @ LASEAN WHERE THE FUCK DID I SAY NC IS NOT A SOUTHERN STATE. THIS IS WHAT I SAID.

How is New York considered a Southern State, I am guessing you went to school right?

Someone said NYC and VA was southern state thats fucking plain stupid.

You obviously didnt even read it, SO SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH YOU DICK SUCKING FAGGET. Go fucking slit your throat for being an annoying ass idiot. Read next time before you comment.

Nothin anything you guys said pertains to the debate on hand. That no matter what.

West coast hip hop > southern rap
East coast hip hop > southern rap
UK/Outside US hip hop > southern rap
    progressive/electronic > southern rap

    Fucking losers man

You name one friggin artist J. Cole big fucking deal, Nas, Jay-Z so I can name drop to what the fucks the big deal. Theres 2 million underground emcees from East and West coast that shits on these idiotic niggerish slavery sounding southern faggets. Uneducated pieces of shit deserve to be bombed and killed.

    Ethered. Log off

  102. Fuck Jay Eletro. & For the record this is HIP-HOP we talkin about. If u grab a mic & call urself HIP-HOP then u must have lyrics. B real wit urselves. When it comes down to lyrics its only half a handful of south niggaz dat can get it in. Wit that said THE SOUTH DON’T RUN A FUCKING THING!!!!!! If an MC from the south is lyrically fuckin wit anybody from the Wu or Redman, Kiss, KRS-ONE or The Roots name him. & b4 u run to the souths best & say Outkast or Goodie Mobb… close but no cigar. Who else u got… Gucci n Waka?

  103. INTERNET SOLDIEEEERRRRSSS

  104. @truth, Are you mad because the North is as irrelevant as your posts??? The South runs this rap shit. Aint nobody from New York/New Jersey gettin put on. Sorry.

  105. The Roots are from Philly… Not New York… Secondly, people criticize the south for five or six wack artists and then run with the same stereotypes that the record labels and radio use to portray southern music… In the south we took time to listen to New York music and their underground artists… Unfortunately it seems that the Northern regions never took the time to listen to southern hip-hop… Not if you think gucci, waka, oj, or soulja boy define the south… that’s four artist….

Listen to Stic Man, Cee-Lo, Outkast, Scarface, Goodie Mob, Devin the Dude, 8ball & MJG, Curren$y, J.Cole, Kyle Lucas, T.I., Ludacris, D.O.C., Screwed Up Click, UGK, Little Brother, Killer Mike, Phonte, Killa Kyleon, Z-Ro, Trae, Lil Wayne….. Then maybe you’ll understand southern hip-hop…. Not just the five artists you heard on the radio….

  106. @Rare Air

you named some ill southern artists but then i lost respect for you in your second post because lil wayne suck so much fuckin ass

Geto Boys + Scarface= how great southern hip hop used to be
