Rest In Power Robert Nesta Marley (February 6, 1945 – May 11, 1981)

Legend. Social activist. National Hero. Messenger of Peace. Musical Icon. Philanthropist. Receiver of the Peace Medal of the Third World (UN). Opposer of Oppression.

Today is a celebration of Robert Nesta Marley’s life and legendary legacy. The forefather and undisputed King of Reggae. The crown belongs to no one else. Period. You may ask, why a post on Bob? He ain’t Hip-Hop. I beg to differ; if you’ve done your research, the entire culture of Hip-Hop owes a great debt to reggae music. Rest in power, Bob Marley!
