Beats by Rhettmatic: The Boom Bap Collection 2.0 (Mixtape)

I wanna start this post off by first wishing the homie Rhett a happy bornday (I think he’s 304 now). And now for the music… in light of Crown Royal’s (Buff1 x Rhettmatic) first European Tour, Rhett put together a collection of tracks that he’s produced. Music from the likes of Buff1, Aloe Blacc, The Visionaries, Pigeon John, OhNo, Young De, Sean Price, MED, Co$$ and more.

Alot of people know me for being a Battle DJ/Turntablist, as a member of the Beat Junkies, or as a member and the Dj/Producer of the Visionaries……what alot of people don’t know me for as a Producer…period, and that I have been doing production for quite sometime.  I actually want to showcase some material (some Old, some Album & B-Side cuts, some Exclusives) that people might be surprised that I actually produced some songs that was outside of my usual circle; You might be plesantly surprised to see whom I have worked with….Plus I included some material off the upcoming Crown Royale album with Buff1 & myself.

  1. not really suprised at any of this info…or him working with any of these people…
hell aside from Sean P and Pharoah I dont care about any of these people…him doin beats for these cats aint a stretch or suprise at all. That quote made it seem like he had done past beats for someone whose actually had a song played on a Viacom/Clear Channel outlet…Ah Well

  2. *a song played on a Viacom/Clear Channel outlet (in the past 10 years) We know BCC had success as did Monch when he was on Rawkus

  3. Rawkus was the days regardless of what they did. The music they put out was doper than 99% of the shit out today.

  4. EMINEM – NOT AFRAID (BEHIND THE SCENES) [VIDEO]: http://bit.ly/9NsEue

  5. Apathy > Eminem

  6. is this an instrumental mixtape or wut?

  7. Thanks for this post. Rhettmatic is slept on too much and it’s time we all take more notice of one of the quiet champions of hip hop. Take care and GOD BLESS

  8. I’ve seen a few producers putting mixtapes like these out, and I like it. In the digital/iPod age, I find myself not knowing who produced a lot of tracks that I like, whereas before I would open up the CD/tape case and read the liner notes.

These mixtapes are a good way for producers to increase their awareness and get the recognition they deserve.

  9. WESTSIDE!!
