“We’re, like, 99 percent done. We’ve done all the recording, and now we’re mixing half the album, and it’s coming out in September,” the singer told MTV News. “I’m very excited about it. It’s gonna be a very interesting, very cool album. And like I said, I’m a big fan of the Roots. I’m excited to be able to put out an album with the Roots. This is a group I’ve been following since I was a kid at UPenn. I would go to open mics and watch them host the open mics, wishing I could be onstage with them, and now I’m in the studio with them making this album, and it’s pretty exciting.”

The thing is, hip hop musician in particular are full of shit. Time after time, we are told “this album is coming out” and “we have formed x supergroup” and “x and y are recording and it’s exciting”. And nothing comes of it. No need to doubt JL personally, but history has shown us to take such things with a grain of salt.
Now I want a Cam’ron/Kanye/Dream collabo album. That would be nice.
He’s not announcing they’ve formed a group or anything, he said the recordings are already done and it’s only a matter of mixing and mastering. Reading is fundamental.
Besides we haven’t exactly been flooded with information about this album, I think they just wanted to come out with it when it was 100% certain it was gonna come to be.

john legend is great helping other people make great songs, kinda like mr hudson, great in the background.
This will be legendary. I disagree with great in the background, to me his albums have been some of the most powerful emotionally and vocally.
