4. is this even considered hip-hop? it seems like everyone’s being all super-poppy, which is fine, but it doesn’t feel like rap music to me. it just sounds like some safe pop stuff with rapping that bleach-blonde girls form the OC would vibe to. pop music+super cathy chorus+some fun raps=Black Eyed Peas formula. this cat, B.o.b., Cudi, etc. are all using this really soft formula.

7. Like I mentioned before, y’all better get off that hip-hop purism tip in 2010. This is the start of how the next 10 years of hip-hop and music in general is about to be. It’s about making SONGS and MUSIC now, not just making “in-the box” packaged genre stuff.

   If you can’t get with it, I guess you’ll just listen to old music from now on, which is fine, but I personally think you’ll be selling yourself short on some of the new good stuff dropping because you think within the 4 walls too much.
