Well AK, regardless of what you say has it not been proven that no matter how “popular” Nas is amongst mainstream hip hop today what he says is something to be taken into account? I mean is it not fair to say that Hip Hop was dying and the controversy started by that album caused artists and rappers alike to start trying to step their game up? It just aint the same as it used to be, but I’m happy for the artists who do still have love for the genre. First lesson to rappers should be that it aint about the money….

Sad to say… but Until Nas does the right thing, his albums and their impact aren’t going to be felt… As a fan of Nas, all I want is 2 things from his next solo album… #1 Go back and get with the producers who embody his sound the best (Premier, Pete Rock, Qtip, LES, Buckwild, Large Pro) and #2 Don’t make another concept album or overly informative/conscious album… Make a relatable album again… On some hood shit, on some life shit, for the people!
To be blunt, I feel you haven’t listened to anything of his since….his first album. Because the only album that didn’t have at least one of those producers on it was Nigger. I honestly don’t think that a lot of people will be satisfied unless he drops club tracks…then they’d complain that he’s selling out.

People really need to listen to the lyrics, thats what Nas is about. Of course as a fan, I would love for his music to be more loved by the masses, but I want the masses to change, not Nas. If he had to dumb it down to get mopre radio spins and a bigger fan base, then I say eff the radio and the fans too. If the first thing you listen to when you hear a song is the beat, then maybe Nas is just not for you. Don’t tell him to get with this producer, or make this kind of track. Go find an artist that is using those producers and making those kinds of tracks. Then come back to Nas when you realize they’re trash.
