R.A. the Rugged Man – Uncommon Valor (Video)

Originally released in 2006 on Jedi Mind Trick’s Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell album. R.A’s verse on Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story is not only one of my favorites from the past 5 years but it also details the real life experience of his father, Staff Sgt. John A. Thorburn. And now that it’s also featured on the Rugged Man’s Legendary Classics v.1, we finally get some visuals.

  1. Always liked that track.

  2. i bet you could never convince this guy that was something is right when he thought it was wrong…He is so into himself.

There is no denying his talent. His mouth movements are annoying tho lol.

  3. this was just excellent. does any1 know the sample used also? this shud be gettin more views.

  4. yeah man 1 of my favorite Hip-Hop tracks ever, this guys the most underrated IMO, he could hold it down with the best of them, nowadays every verse he drops is a classic, always good to hear new Rugged Man, been on his grind lately after being silent for a few years, lookin forward to his verses on the new Vinnie Paz album and new Reef The Lost Cauze album with that Kool G. Rap collabo

  5. awww man i forgot about this track! wayyyy2dope!

Im unsure what you are saying. (not because it doesnt make sense, but because i have decent “retard deciphering skills” and think i know what you are trying to mean) It sounds like you are attempting to make a statement about dudes feelings concerning the Vietnam conflict, but then im 99% sure you wouldn’t have any valid opinions yourself.

I don’t know you, this is based on the fact that you said “he is so into himself” apparently as a reference to his attitude either in this song or in this video. As written in the short (re: good for short attention span having bloggers most likely not going to research anything and repost this shit verbatim) writeup, this is about his fathers experience in Vietnam.

“his mouth movements are annoying tho”

yeah man. i went to your site. it is pretty much a copy/paste of this site. but apparently a pretentious vain little queer with no sense of anything outside his little bubble of a world is the sole poster/reposter of things found here and elsewhere and knows better.

your mouth movements are irrelevant. lol.

  11. best verse by a white man ever, you heard it here

  12. It would take a bigger budget than RA will ever see in his life to do justice to the verse he spit on that song.

    His words+my imagination>>>>>>>>>>>This video

Didn’t know it was actually about his pops/family tho, that makes it even more crazy

  13. Great track like the original.

  14. Damn this gave me shivers… so fucking deep, I dont know how you can listen to all the garbage out there with material like this in abundance to find with a little research and googling

  15. crazy stuff this

  16. This is one of the best verses ever
This is one of the worst videos ever

  17. Cambodia in the enemy hands. My country will never be the same

  18. RIP Ron Rose

  19. One of my favorite verses/tracks ever. Video kinda sucked, but doesn’t take anything away from the track.

  20. it probably deserved a better video to do one of the greatest verses ever true justice but you’d have to be p. diddy or someone to throw a few millions on a video, with that said i ain’t complaining i still enjoyed the video, R.A.’s one of the most underrated, i posted this on my facebook and no one replied, fuckin clowns, like i said every verse he drops these days is MURDER!!! after the crazy shit his been thru with the family tragedies and industry blackballing him out i rate him more for still doing Hip-Hop and being one of the best at it, i’m still bumpin his verses off that Legendary Classics, on a sidenote Rest In Peace to John Thorburn who passed away on 7th January this year

  21. “best verse by a white man ever, you heard it here”

^^ not that it matters but this is easily true

The vid was very dope lived up to the legendary status of that verse, RA could and SHOULD crush the game with a whole album with this rhyme scheme..just top prove a point. RA over Roc Marcy beats would be ill!

  22. Just when you think hiphop is lame some exceptional shit like this comes out. I swear I was going through all the shit on here and i was saying…”i’m tired of hiphop” and then bam…here comes R. A. with this shit. Now thats a fucking verse. No, i’m sorry thats fucking HIP HOP right there!!!! R. A. has the personality and the skill. Love that dude. I love his whole fuck the industry attitude.

  23. yo D this track is mad old but still a classic. I recommend checking that whole Jedi album, pretty fire.

  24. Reminds me of the shit my dad used to tell us. That Agent Orange fucked him up. And the government covered it up like nothing happened and it didn’t affect anyone.
One of the best tracks off that album. Vid is dope for a low budget video.

  25. lets relax with the “best verse from a white man ever”…. ill bill has plenty of verses that hang with this easily. same for edan and aesop rock. shit is blazin’, but let’s not over-rate it.
