Meka’s Soul Mix Show: (We) Hear The People Talking

Original sample used in the Ski Beatz-produced, Nasir-targeted subliminal that went undetected on most heads’ radars. Although it was recorded after he took his ‘L’, you have to give the man some credit for not constructing another contrived shot a la Super Ugly.

  6. wasn’t Just Blaze. It was Ski

  7. I’ll take that L.

  8. Jay tried to sneak attack
Assasinate my character, degrade my hood
Cause in order for him to be the Don, Nas had to go
    The Gam-B-I-N-O rules I understood
What you want, see, I already had
The Gift and The Curse? Fuck that shit, the first shall be last
    I’m the man’s man, a rapper’s rapper
    G-O-D S-O-N, they’ll be none after
I was Scarface, Jay was Manolo
It hurt me when I had to kill him and his whole squad for dolo- Nas

with that said this sample is dope.

  9. you have to give the man some credit for not constructing another contrived shot a la Super Ugly. <<this. lol. jay mad this song to make himself feel a little bit better about having more money than his peers. but he still never got the respect or clear "win" from the people, or his rap peers.
but neway on to the next one.

  10. mmhmm

  11. Jay-z is wack cheeze, calling all real emcee’s diss this fool, he too corporate and to illuminated to survive in the game any longer.

  12. you have to admit though…Jay did murder this track…that beat is incredible

  13. nice cover of the joint by nikka costa, too:

Who needs a whole song when Hov summed up Nas’ entire career (to that point) in a handful of lines:

You said you been in this ten
I’ve been in it five – smarten up Nas
Four albums in ten years nigga? I can divide
That’s one every let’s say two, two of them shits was due
One was – NAHHH, the other was “Illmatic”
That’s a one hot album every ten year average

  17. Man I miss jay-z befoe he turned devil worshiping freemason just sad what the fuck did he trade his lyrical skills for a spot in hell and sum cash SMH a damn shame

  18. ^^Damn@^^^
that line wud be great if it was true..
Nas made illmatic..then it was written straight after, and 2years later the lost tapes plus jay litterally had put out more albums by nas at that point but wat evs we off that

  19. illuminati..we off that. its not true.

  20. this song was classic. Jay bodied it…he was channeling Atheletes in his raps…peep the perspective.

“We can get deeper in the dirt than cleat shoes
    I refuse to lose
I peep you creeps three months in advance”

“The harder you go at me the harder I flow
    Lets do this
I’m just a mirror reflectin your image
The minute you switch up your face I pick up the pace
    There’s nothin to it”

“We can clap at this amateur pace
    If that’s what’s crackin
Or we can play this on All Madden”

“Dont you know… when youre defeated?
Wont you throw? Throw in the towel
    I’m better with vowels”

“I didnt know before now my role’s defined”

“Dammit, man this is the gift from God
    This aint have to stand
‘Til your arms are too short to box
    Plus we knuckle up unorthodox”

Not really so much of a Nas diss as the Original “Dont u Know” But still fire. I’ll take Takeover, SupaUgly and Blueprint 2 over
Ether, Stillmatic (freestyle), and Last Real Nigga Alive.

  21. @DiggySimmons
Hey bitch why don’t you go and do another fucking freestyle jacking CORY GUNZ ENTIRE FLOW and go turn straight and stop blogging about faggot shit on your fagshon website
and at least your Gar Gar brother [also known as GARBAGE] brother
has his own flow and didn’t steal his from a fucking underground
    rapper

  22. “There is “Ether” and then there is everything else.”
    Co-sign again.

after Jay dropped this Nas hit him with “Your the Man”

  23. THE FUCK IS KARATE SCHOOL

  24. Yeah but, Ether was the only decent diss song Nas put out. That H to the Omo, straight trash. And every other diss he released, he kowns it was garabage too. Nas just made jokes about how Jay looked(gay?) Jay shitted on Nas’ career at that point. But they’re cool now and that was a long time ago. They’re both consistently in my Top 5.(Cause everyone knows a Hip-Hop head’s top 5 changes every 2 months lol)

  25. mr watson!!
