When ?uestlove released The Roots’ Dilla Joints project I had a feeling someone would just at the opportunity of rhyming over the instrumentals. And sure enough Philly’s own Dice Raw steps up to the plate. Wrote and recorded in less than a week, Dice pays respect to the late great James Yancey. Spotted at OKP.

weird…listening to “The Tipping Point” right now *downloads*
Word! Funny thing, I just downloaded the “Dilla Joints” project earlier this morning! Now Dice Raw spitting over the beats, what a treat!!!
Dice Raw makes every Money making Jam Boys song yet unlistenable…he hasn’t had a dope verse since Do You Want More?!! I hope a good MC takes this idea and makes it better.

dopedopedope
just got this and it was a nice surprise.
DICE RAW IS THE SHIITITTTT!
I like dice raw on the roots songs but with him rapping solo its just something missing when he’s rapping is it just me but I’m just not feeling this now if Black thought would have done it that would be a true treat but we need a better MC to rap over these beats. the beats are banging tho they deserve some true effort put toward them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CABjwhwizNk new freshman
was hoping black thought would do this, but i’ll still check this. i kind of like it as instrumental though, so i don’t know which version i’ll end up keeping. good to see dice putting in work though.
Crimealdi, i got another point of view about dice, he got crazy verse on “get busy” , crazy hook on ” how i get over” and good feat on the last album of the roots and you Forgot “here i come”
A&R def jam
Co executive producer & writing of the three last the roots album
wrote song with jill Scott
I don’t think is wack, i think is dope ans very smart. This Guy make incredible thing since “do you want more?
*bumps thin line btwn raw and jiggy…..
Really really nice!
some highlights on that mixtape!def!
Is it me of does this link not work?
Literally had the exact idea and started working on it earlier in the week…I don’t think I can come close to competing with Dice Raw, but I’m mad someone beat me to the punch, lol.
There will never be a day in life where I rave about any solo Dice Raw music.
I download pretty much everything because even on the wackest of wack albums you might find a gem. That said there are no gems here. I thought ‘Doot Doo Dah Da’ was the best joint.
What the hell happened to Dice Raw’s flow? It’s terrible on this mixtape. I’m guessing there are thousands of emcees that could have come nicer.
WHO IS DICE RAW? LOL PLUG THA FUK N!!
damn yall niggas act like this dude is some well known nigga. i check this site on the regular and other sites like this and never once i have seen dice raw. I know my underground shit but not this nigga. so get off this nigga dick for a minute and let some one know who he is thats all.

random axe said this on April 16th, 2010 at 2:24 pm <<hes a part of the Roots. Im not sure if hes officially still a member anymore tho. But check the roots "things fall apart" album. He had a mean flow on there, and wit. You had to , sparring with black thought back in the 90s.
If you don’t know Dice Raw you don’t really know The Roots point Blank.
man shake, you should post the Nouveau Riche EP’s on here. They are rare and nasty. You should bring em back
We need more dice raw shit !!!
For people that don’t know, check out The Lesson Part 1 on Do You Want More?!!!??!. All the old school Roots fans should know Dice Raw from this song. I remember bumping this album a lot back then and hearing this song.
dice raw is a dope mc, refreshing beats from dilla wat else you want? good mixtape
