In a recent interview with Rap-Up, Nas & Damian Marley speak on their upcoming album, Lil Wayne’s absence from music and the future of the music industry. And like the title suggests, Nas says that he think both J. Cole and Drake are “fire”.
Even though Cole’s aligned with Hov, I feel like Drizzys career will be more like Hovs and J will more-so follow the Nas Illmatic route…just my two cents though..
Ay Boomerang Slang gots a point… i could see Drake getting movie roles right and left soon especially with his background.. though he isnt as good an actor as Will Smith is lol
Nas is just trying to not breed any hate or anger! If These kids came out in 01-02, they (well, at least Drake) would’ve been on that list of ppl he barked about on the radio.
This niggas being a diplomat.
lol maybe this is just be, and this is mad random but i wish someone would cut the part near 2:05 where he says “Knock it out the Park” and sample that in a song.
Why can’t J. Cole just be J. Cole, why does he have to be the next Pac? or Nas? or Jay? Why would someone wanna copy someone else instead of doing their own thing.
Nas body language tells me he was BS’N when he talked about A. Hole & Flake being “FIRE”. Nas deep inside knows they are garbage, and amount to nothing when it comes to being part of the true hip hop community. everything now in the game is so media microscopic, that it made hip hop artists very reluctant to speak the truth about the state of hip hop. even though Nas is a legend, today he’s just a former shell of himself. this album with Damian is nothing but a novelty project which should be titled “Smoke And Mirrors”. I’ll support Nas when he gets back to his roots and record tracks with PREMO and Xtra P. nobody gives a fuck about the world and the people in it today. it’s all about skinny jeans and twitter messages. why can it be all so simple like the days of reading newspapers and beepers.
Is there a reason for no Fashawn shoutout? Are people really still sleeping? If anything reminds of you of dope 90′s hip-hop right now besides joell ortiz, look no further than Fashawn. Take a second.
Fashawn & Freddie Gibbs are off the radar cuz the sheep only focus on commercial heads, not talent. As for me, Fashawn & Gibbs all day over J.Cole and a Drake.
I think both Drake and Cole are good artist. Personally, I will listen to J.Cole over Drake any day I think this whole idea of everyone (artist/exect,etc) co-signing these artist that have already been stamped by the industry is bullshit. Just let them put the music out and see what they can do with their opportunities.
