Before the Slaughterhouse machine and the dopehouse were built, the West Coast B.O.S.S. embarked on a year long series. Dropping a new track every Wednesday in 2007-2008. Now, you have every artists with internet access doing something similar (no shots) but Crook was the originator and really didn’t leave room for another series to stand against it. I remember being one of the first to support the series back in my HipHopDX days and always wondering what beat was gonna be chosen. The entire collection can be downloaded below and if you hit the jump I’ve included the three mixtapes he did with the homie September 7th.

the 1st link is all 52+ weeks.. the 3 mixtapes are just how it was released after the series was done. the only postive in getting the djs version is that all the shoutouts in the songs r cut out so you don’t have to fast forward them. i didnt download the 1st link so i’m not sure if its the original versions with the shoutouts or the mixtape version all put in 1 link

It’s hard to hate on the bars but as a solo artist he has yet to prove himself by crafting quality songs to an album. There’s something special about a classic collection of tracks and Crooked has yet to deliver.
But, I’m forever indebted to this series just for those bars over Imagine. #25 I believe. Keeps my head up.
So, fuck what I said, Crooked goes hard. Still anticipating his debut.

If u still don’t think Crooked is dope after this u prolly never will. The craziest part of this series was you could tell he was literally writing and recording each week by the lines and shit he was saying. Which made it even more impressive its not like he had all these songs already written just slapping the lyrics on the newest hottest beats. Props to crook for this. This really made hip hop fresh and exiting for me again
This was a dope series, and to me solidifies Crooked as an originator and someone unparalleled on the mic (compare some of his freestyles to other versions of tracks including originals & you’ll see).
