On January 29, 2010, the organizers, with help from VTech, staged its biggest event to date: the 2010 Hip Hop Karaoke Championship at New York’s Irving Plaza. The crowd of 1,200+ witnessed 12 of Hip Hop Karaoke’s finest perform tracks by Jay-Z, Run-D.M.C., and Notorious B.I.G. with special guest judges Peter Rosenberg from Hot 97, Black Moon’s Buckshot and the legendary emcee Big Daddy Kane. In the end, Jessica, a 28-year old newcomer from Queens took home the title, a $1,000 cash prize, and a VTech WIFI Internet Radio while the crowd celebrated and reveled in a night of classic hip-hop.
