It’s so unfortunate to have beef in what once was the greatest hip-hop group of all time. No disrespect to Wu-Tang cuz they were amazing, but Tribe is one of the reasons why I still love hip hop… what a shame.

Basically, Phife was the supporting bench player and Q-Tip was the superstar. Phife is salty cuz he wants the same credit & recognition.
wow. just put every album and unreleased joint into one folder for my idpod and I come here and see this?. Wierd timing. but I always liked ATCQ but honestly felt phife was just alright. he had some good lines but I couldnt stomache a whole album by him and he proved it to me when he put out that album (even 4got the name) almost 10 years ago. Had good songs on it too. But overall? Blah. He’s good as a second man or once in a while lead but he’s no Tip. This is no diss to phife. A group is like a band. Everyone should play their position and be happy. Nothing wrong with wanting more but don’t be salty cuz your group member is the star. Tips a better rapper and he makes beats/produces. What else did this dude bring to the table?

This sucks to hear I kno they’ve had their problems and all but it’s really all just dumb. Phife wasn’t all that to me and it was obvious tip was the leader anyway so there’s really no point complaining anymore no matter what type of credit he gets everyone will still think of tip when they think of atcq

Phife need to just be chill, thankful he’s in better health, and that he’s apart of the the biggest and one of the best Hip Hop Groups ever, he’s a legend no matter that he’s just a second man in a group behind Tip. He need to get on that humble Scottie Pippen steez- Know your position, play it good, enjoy your success…

also I love how this random British DJ broad is talking like she intimately know Tribe and they situations and how she’s just all over Phife’s nuts…but bet 6 months down the line when she gets Tip in the studio she gonna flip the script “I always knew you was the leader, and you made beats, rapped, everything, etc etc etc”…i dotn know thats the kind of vibe I’m gettin from her, ha.
Great interview. I always thought Phife was ill. Of course almost everyone liked Tip “better” but Phife was an absolutely necessary part of Tribe and his presence added a lot to the songs. Bottom line, the group wouldn’t have been as good without him.
^^^ of course but that can go the same way with Tip, and Ali…all three of them are the whole mass of the group.
Tip can be a lil diva-ish and all that but thats probably cause so many ppl talkin in his ear and all that plus him being the most successful solo artist out of the 3…So his head prob got(still is) a lil big compared to the other 2…
I think Phife need to just keep it moving tho and do him and drop that solo and show and prove with that and then get the props that way instead of trying to cause anymore friction in a already touchy situation.

My fav hip hop group of all time but I’d rather see them work out their diff than hear a new ATCQ album. Their friendship is more important than this music shit anyway.
