Still no single… fck.
21st motherfucking century hip-hop, without gay ass Dre
oddly enough, I believe him…he seems to be doing some promotional shit now which means a) he is not working as much probably and might be done working b) and Iovine has him out their in the public for a reason
Dude past his prime. Like MJ trying to get back in the game.
Primo > Dre
^
^
The realest shit I ever wrote.
even if it is 4 years late, I’m still excited to hear this!!!!
Anyone over this? I was excited for detox three years ago, don’t think I care to much anymore.
It Will Be A Classic Album. Whoever Wrote His Verse’s Gonna Get Paid. Y’all Stupid If You Think Dre Wrote The Songs Himself. Em Prolly Wrote Some Of The Sickest Shit For Dre To Spit.
Maybe Dre should Detox from the steroids
i would buy the headphones if they made yankees ones…i want to hear dre’s album but would deffinitly not buy dre should be producing not rapping because all of his songs someones going to be writing the lyrics for him such as under pressure hova is gonna be writing dre’s lyrics as well as is own
I’m not as excited as I used to be, but I’ll definitely be excited when it releases.
“Primo > Dre” Who’s Primo, I’ve heard of Premo, never Primo. Dre is to the West, what Premier is to the East. Why are people always making unnecessary negative comparisons?
@CannonsMcFly you are right…eminem did write is sickest shit and someone is going to get paid for writing his lyrics on the album
i cant believe it. it sounds and looks like Detox might actually be dropping. also,Beats by Dre >>>> everything ever, fucking love those headphones. (fuck the Red Sox tho) Under Pressure is a very appropriate title for a Detox single…
^ lol
Take it for what it is, we’ll see about this….
Am I the only one who thinks Dr. Dre is overrated?
@ JannieHayward
*listens to The Chronic & 2001*
…
Yep, you’re the only one.
no you are not jonnie
@Jonniehayward Yes you’re the only one
@Jonnie
If you only take into consideration is most recent work, but like Alex said, if you listen to The Chronic & 2001, and then thought about what those did for hip-hop, you would remember why Dre gets the praise he does. I still hear 2001 and Chronic songs at parties and on the radio, 10-20 years later.
Dre coming off as someone who hasn’t socialized with anyone for years… oh wait.
*his
yeah who cares now. the window to be hyped for this closed years ago…
Ok I didn’t think so…I know he’s a legend, and has made great contributions to hip hop but there’s a lot of producers that make better beats than him imo…same goes for Snoop Dogg when it comes to rap
@jonniehayward
all legends are overrated period
Oh and like everything else the single went from being released last week to “hopefully” in two. SMFH
dre is a legend no doubt.but i dont feel it when niggas be giving him that g.o.a.t. tag tho
Eat your words… SMFH. All of you a-holes who doubt on Detox’s quality and impact are out of your damn minds. Time will tell, I’m not worried. I told yall 2010 – NOT 2011, and I’m telling you now Detox doesn’t even need a hypeman – shit will sell like hotcakes, and frankly, it deserves to sell like hotcakes.
@silence…Nas is a legend, he’s not overrated…Jay-Z on the other hand..
maybe if we had more artists take pride in their work like dre did we wouldnt have so much garbage music out there. Dre. Has two albums, both are classics and not very many people will disagree with that. Who cares if he writes his raps, he never has written his own and both his albums are among the best ever besides that fact. Having guys like jay-z, eminem and royce ghostwriting for you can never be bad thing. Detox will be a classic for sure, maybe in a whole new direction than The Chronic and 2001, but still a classic..
marley, pete rock, and premier.after those three its everyone else
For everyone doubting Dre’s greatness, listen to hip-hop production pre-Chronic, then listen to it after The Chronic. Dre literally cleaned up the sound quality of hip-hop production.
So it takes ten years to make the album yet jay-z comes in and in 3 weeks hes gonna have the first single.?.?.?
Oh, but honestly, in terms of the direction hip-hop is headed, I think Kanye’s next project will have a larger impact than Detox.
personally i like that dusty sounding shit.lol
REAL RAP
he’s lyin. Detox won’t never be released. He’s just playin with us like he alsways does.
and for some reason ppl seem to forget dre has a lot of help behind the boards.mel man,hi-tek,nottz ring a bell anyone
@hmmmmm..Nobody doubts Dre’s impact on hip hop but I still think there are atleast 5 producers that make better beats than him…Run DMC impacted hip hop also, but I still think Wu-Tang Clan, Tribe Called Quest, and OutKast are better groups
So if the jay/dre record is coming out “in the next two weeks” that means it will leak…..*holds breathe*
And i’ll believe detox is dropping after it drops
@jonniehayward
you know i thought for a minute on how to counter that. but i agree, i don’t nas overrated either. ah well, touche’ then. I’ma change my statement to legends are typically overrated and/or romanticized
Woooow.
The world must be ending, Haha.
In all seriousness, Detox is gonna be amazing, hands down.
#Westside
Fall back, haters.
im down wit hearing sum new Dre if it drops yo….but everybody knows he dont write his own shit
jimmy is a fucking GENIUS..
WTF is wrong with jimmy iovine and portable TV’s
thats like taking a shit threw a portable tv.
Under pressure is the title? Maybe dre did pick up the pen.
Iovine is gunning on those portable tvs
fuck dr.dre and detox and them earphones, skullcandys with dr.dre written on them..geez
Dre hasn’t even rapped on anyl of the other “detox leaks”; could this just be hov on a dre beat?
shit would be cool if it dropped this year…but honestly I don’t think he can create something greater than the pressure he built up for this album. A lot of the beats he has given to other projects over the past years after 2001 have not been all that dope, unless he got something genre progressin shit up his sleeve
dre keeps starin at the camera makin me nervous
what the fuck is the meaning of DETOX for dre?,, ,u can’t smoke some blunts listentin an album called DETOX ,LOL
Dre’s patience wearing very thin when Jimmy speaks. #ihateportabletvs
maybe if dre put out this album after so long, will destroy his career
To all those who doubt Dre’s GOAT status:
He introduced the world to the form of gangsta rap that would take over in the 90′s with Straight Outta Compton
He created the west coast sound with The Chronic
He recreated the west coast sound with 2001
He is responsible for the careers of Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent, Game, Cube. All legends who have taken hip hop by storm in their eras.
He is responsible for countless hits and countless classics that span over 20 years.
He inspired all of your favorite producers of this generation…and the last.
To the people saying he fell of or isn’t that great…
uhh…Straight Outta Compton…Let me Ride…Deep Cover…Gin and Juice…California Love…Phone Tap…The Next Episode…My Name Is…The Real Slim Shady…The Watcher 2…In Da Club…How We Do…Lost One…
I mean COME ON. And those are just singles. He’s been killin it on whole albums his whole career. And he always keeps his best shit to himself so have a little faith. He has a lot of pressure to put out a classic album and it’s clear he understands that jusging from this interview. To have been working on this album for over a decade, he could have easily decided to keep working on it for another one. So if Dre is ready to drop it soon and is excited about it, you know he has something.
^^^^ you’ve done your homework.,
Unfuckingveliabable!!! can’t wait to hear the single.
we’ll see in 2 weeks Dre..
“T” hit it right on the nose… Who fuckin cares that hes been working on it for 10 years, if DETOX is anything like 2001 ill be fuckin happy and it will deffinetly be worth the wait, its QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.
And for that fuckin idiot who thinks Primo is better then Dre, go off yourself… Dre IS and ALWAYS will be the best Producer in rap/hip-hop. Even YOUR FAVORITE PRODUCER will tell you that…
Cant fuckin wait for detox. And like Dre said… “All you mother fuckin haters out there, can suck my mother fuckin dick, and we still smokin.. What!”
i believe this is best said preach on brotha! (he’s lyin. Detox won’t never be released. He’s just playin with us like he alsways does).
Jimmy speaks real rap. dem ear buds jus SUCK. don’t know about the dre headphones. but jimmy knows. leave the gaga talk alone. this Dre’s platform.
If this track with Jigga comes out in a few weeks OFFICIALLY..only then will I believe Detox is coming out this year.
People have hated on the delays but they know inside that they are dying for this album.
dre seems out of touch. i’m sure the music from detox will be good though… should be atleast… he will have the best rappers in the industry writing for him and 10+ years to make some hot beats, or edit others beats and take credit for ‘em
Dre is a legend for sure. But meh, I don’t like Iovine. He’s a money hungry whore. Dre is his little pet who speaks when he’s told too. kinda sad… but hey, alteast he’s gettin paid…
anyone else notice how when he says stuff about “not letting anyone down” and “doing it himself” he looks away from the camera quite a few times and looks pretty apprehensive (ie. he’s lying or hiding something). dre knows a lot more than he is saying… be aware, FFF
Dre is one of the busiest artists in hip-hop… I don’t see how he is out of touch.
I agree completely with what T said up there ^ and it isn’t like he’s been working on this for 10 years, or that the songs on it will be 10 years old, because he’s cancelled it and stalled his work on it loads of times.. the tracks on the album are sure to be mostly recently created. When the single drops, I’ll look forward to the album…
You all know your going to shit yourselves once the single drops and flip into hype mode. Don’t be playing like you ain’t excited for this shit anymore. You will be, you will be.
Yeah Dr. Dre is overrated. he is one of the reasons why relapse wasnt that good, he pretty much produced the whole album and his beats sounded stale and boring. and his rapping is horrible. i dont think detox is gonna be that good…if it does come out
JonnieHayward said this on April 6th, 2010 at 3:12 am <<<Dungeon Family definetly get overlooked for produciton.
Im not 100 on dre really releasing the detox lol.
oh and for the head phones..i cant afford those rite now lol but i neva understood people who can listen to whole albums (for the first time or anymusic for the first time) and be satisfied with the speakers built in the laptop. shm. u need that basss. u need the highs and the lows and the depth and breath. cmon son.
What happens with R.E.D and Relapse 2 now?
Dre is as much a producer as Puffy is.
Dr. Dre is the reason why hip hop is what it is. You guys are fools. The second that single drops you’re all gunna download it.
“Now’s The Time” – STONEWATER trailer http://vimeo.com/10693765

<<its kind of a contradition.
if ur a game changer. u will go down in history as just that and rightly so.
This is perhaps the most overhyped album Rap has ever seen (or never seen) this better be EPIC, otherwise, why bother ??? I mean if you were just going to drop the album whenever you damn well felt like it, why have people talking about it for four years to the point where we probably won’t care when its a piece of crap.
Just sayin
Click the name!
@london..Don’t see how its a contradiction, KRS-One impacted hip hop too, but I rarely hear him labeled as the greatest emcee, Run DMC impacted the game but like I said there have been better hip hop groups since them, when it strictly comes down to music
Example: Dre did more for the game by helping put the West Coast on the map with NWA and recruiting great artists, but J. Dilla still makes better beats than him imo
Now check me out, it’s back to the old school
Where the niggaz get their strap on, don’t nobody cap on
Slap on some D-R-E
Or some funky ass shit by the D-O-double G-Y D-O-double G
Real G’z who drop K’s, protect these N-U-Ts, so nigga please
Peep out my manuscript
You’ll see that it’s a must I drop gangsta shit
(Beeotch!!) So recognize game from the gangsta
Thangs will remain the same until I change ‘em
-Deez Nuts
Maria Sephanos…id smash…plus she’d know how to invest my cash…
I’ve followed this homo his whole career (except fot the cross dressing world class wreckin crew dre)
After the whole disrespectful Rakim fiasco, Dre actin like a fuckin hermit premadonna, I’m tired of this nigga, been tired for years. I dont give a fuck about Detox. Just keep helpin that devil muthafucka Iovive
*Iovine
I hate comparing producers. I doesn’t really make sense. Premo is probably the best sampler/drum break I’ve ever listened to. But Dr. Dre on the other hand, is more of a composer type producer, layering piano, sfx, usually bass heavy kicks, and snapping snares. Timbaland (although he makes gay music now) probably had the craziest/most creative mind out of any of them i.e. Timbaland & Magoo: Welcome to Our World, had rediculous production. Not to mention everything else he created.
So stop comparing completly different styles through opinion, drink it ya’bitch.
It doesn’t really make sense**
Hate to say it, Dre needs a a swag boost.
Plus, he sounds mad gay – “absolutleyyyyy.”
haha.
I’m ready for Detox
@JonnieGayward
Dilla hasn’t made a beat since 2006. You quite obviously don’t have a clue what the fuck you’re on about so please stop.
so thats what jimmy looks like…detox is way too hyped and is gonna fail miserably. a new single release in the next two weeks, does that mean itll be out by summer????
@Icardi,,different styles doesn’t mean 1 isn’t better than the other,,Magic Johnson had a different style than Michael Jordan but most would agree he was a better overall player…Lupe and Lil Wayne have different styles but most people with a brain and any knowledge of music would agree that Lupe is better……and everything in the c-section is opinionated so we’ll compare styles through opinion if we feel like it….@TE, I think you’re wise enough to understand that I meant J. Dilla made better beats while he was still alive than Dre made and is still making
@JonnieGAYward
Jay is that nigga.. Nas is that nigga.. Stop bringin up irrelevant stupid 5th grade retarded shit in a post that really has nothing to do with either of them..
Fuckin KIDS.. These new generation of kids make me fuckin sick…

<<<very true there are people better than them NOW… but i feel they are legends in thier own right cos they were the best at what they were doing at one point. and game changers. thats what makes a legend imo, and espesh when the music lasts for years, is still relevant, and still sounds great.
people what u think makes u a legend in the game?
Fuckin KIDS.. These new generation of kids make me fuckin sick…
iCon said this on April 6th, 2010 at 10:38 am << talkin like that didnt u raise this new generation, we look up to whoever went before us. so its your fault.
@iCon..Its called a example u apparently missed the point..Dre is good too..so is J. Dilla,,but Dre is overrated as a producer, apparently because of how he affected the game with recruiting great artists and being part of NWA…and the GAYward is extremely unoriginal btw u can do better than that
@London
I can say that their are only a few records in my generation that really impacted the game… You had Doggystyle and The Chronic from the West and then you had Illmatic and Ready to Die and Reasonable Doubt with early 90′s Wu Tang and some others out the East.. Really if you can make at least 1 or 2 classic albums and put out very worthy material in between and stay relevant and make TIMELESS music, than you very well could be a legend..
Music is all opinionated anyways but most of these people’s opinions are just outrageous and should qualify them for the looney house..
@jonnie
My point is that callin Jay overrated is like callin The Game the greatest ever.. It just don’t make sense… It’s stupid and ignorant.. And I just couldn’t hold back on the Gayward after reading some posts you made.. J. Dilla is dope but Dre IS A LEGEND.. It don’t matter who you ask.. Name one MC in the game who would not jump at the chance to work with Dre.. I bet you couldn’t find one.. He helped shape Hip-Hop music.. It’s a fact.. It’s not made up.. Go back and look at your history..
@julian. listen to skullcandys, then listen to beats. not even close
Dr. Dre sounds like a fruit
@iCon..I know Jay is great but many people label him as the GREATEST tho which is why I think he’s overrated,,,especially since he’s been heavily influenced by both Nas and Biggie…just because some1 is overrated it doesn’t mean they are wack,,…and I didn’t make any homosexual posts but it seems nowadays people relate things they disagree with to homosexuality which is pretty immature and makes them seem like they’re homophobic and afraid some1 will take their cheeks someday…and I agree on the fact that Dre’s a legend, but don’t think he’s the G.O.A.T like I see and hear a lot of ppl sayin
No matter what people say, people will check Detox when it finally drops, young & old alike.
and the Beats headphones are nice, but Shure Earphones are better for the money.
I didn’t say you made any homosexual posts just that some of things you were sayin sounded a little suspect.. And I’m completely aware and comfortable with my sexuality knowing I make my fiance a very happen woman every night.. Besides I’m not homophobic.. And with that I’m outta here.. No more posts about dumb shit that isn’t related at all to what the real topic is..
Fuck the haters. Fuck the lovers. Haters goin’ hate. Lovers goin’ love. Dre gonna drop Detox. End of story.
I’m completely aware and comfortable with my sexuality knowing I make my fiance a very happen woman every night..

especially you london.. I done read a few comments where you copyin and pastin shit lookin like a cake..
And the only reason I brought up the Nas and Jay-z thing is because some1 said legends aren’t overrated…@Fuck Outta Here..its called a c-section where u share and debate opinions on the topic of the post,,again I don’t see what is homosexual about that but u must be an expert on homosexuality if u can find something fruity about debating on hip hop
Why does the white guy always say Portable TV when he makes an example out of something totally off topic? Like oh yeah take this watermelon if you bring into a fruit bowl its like putting it thru a portable TV
“all legends are overrated period”
So BIG, Pac and Dilla are overrated?!
You can’t really compare J. Dilla and Dr Dre, Dilla is more known as a beat maker and Dre as a producer, there’s a pretty big difference.
@Jonnie
Not many of your examples are helping prove your point, you use the Jay being influenced by Biggie/Nas as a way to show he’s overrated, when in terms of producing, Dre is the one influencing the rest of the game. You say KRS-One impacted the game, but is rarely considered the greatest, when I’ve personally never heard a conversation about the greatest that he wasn’t included in. Run DMC may not be as skilled as the rap groups today, but they laid the foundation for these rappers to build on, at the time the were rapping, that was some of the greatest stuff people had heard.
Dr Dre is a legend, and has one of the greatest track records of any hip-hop producer. He completely changed the game with an innovative sound, and helped give rise to some of the greatest and most successful rappers in the industry, that’s what a producer is supposed to do. Many people believe that Dr Dre is one of the greatest producers in music period, and his contributions to hip-hop warrant that praise.
So in the end, maybe Dr Dre may not be the greatest beat maker, but to claim he’s overrated is ridiculous, he’s a producer, producers don’t only make beats.
@JonnieHayward
I agree, I don’t think Jay is the greatest of all time, in my opinion nobody is. It’s just that he’s set a lot of records and has been consistent throughout the number of albums he’s dropped. Personally for me I think a lot of people are better than Jay such as Nas, Common and 3000.
@Jonnie
say what you want about 45 year old Dre, but you watch it when talkin bout the Doggfather of rap.
Snoop > Dre in my mind.

I’m too cynical, as soon as Dre said the album was comin out, all I could is laugh…I’ll believe it when I’m able to hold it my hands…
Dj Premier > Dre
I dont give a fuck if your from west, east, south, mars, pluto.
Thats the truth, Dres done. Have you heard the tracks produced by him this past year, ummm yeah exactly.
Ok Bust a nut is right, I didn’t do a good job explainin my point and ur right about the beat making…and me sayin Jay being influenced by Biggie and Nas wasn’t the whole reason y I don’t think he’s the g.o.a.t., like YaBoyRampz I think Common and Andre are better overall and there have been emcees with better skills (technically) such as Big Pun,,so props to bust a nut for breaking it down and pointing out the loopholes in my argument
10 years between albums = fail.
But Dre will fill Detox with features like Jay-Z, Em, and T.I. to sell records and these bitches will still buy it. shrug. Will still be worth a D/L tho..
This shit is funny..everyone talking shit knowing damn well, they going to be waiting in line to download that shit as soon as it drops.
I wanna hear it. I have no expectations for what it will sound like, but I wanna hear it whether its garbage or an eargasm.
And TRUST, you can’t judge this album by Dre’s recent production for other artists (although the shit he did for raekwon was crack). When Dr. Dre drops an album, its like nothing you’ve heard before. He produced a lot of dope shit in between the Chronic and 2001 (Doggystyle, 2pac, The Firm, Big Pun, Nas) but you had never heard anything even remotely similar to what came out on 2001. He’s been hoarding all of his standout tracks for years.
Like I said I wanna hear it
LMAO @ SnakeEyez. Explain how 10 years between CLASSIC albums a fail. Dr. Dre can do whatever the fuck he wants. The funny thing is your name links to a Crooked I page. Crooked I has ZERO official releases.
Detox will be classic. FACT.
cant fucking wait finally
If Detox drops this year I will eat a piece of white dog shit.
im calling it, 1.5 million the first week… ill just DL it at home thou cuz my expectations for it have dropped over the years
and he still needs to do a song with Crooked on the album.. doubt its happening thou
FACT: Detox won’t live up to the expectations.
Beats have been out nearly two years, why are they just getting major recognition now like they just came out yesterday? anyways, i doubt detox actually drops in 2010. he’s been saying that every year since like ’02
Dre has a bald spot!
http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/videos/id.5224/title.dr-dre-lebron-james-opening-day-batting-practice
lol pause it at 22 seconds when he turns around
portable tvs by jimmy iovine droppin 2012
that nigga should name it botox
3 hunnid for headphones? fuck that, ill just swipe em off somebody
lol nah but for real, im interested if the sound is really worth it…and headphones always break, this better have life time warranty or some shit.
Why Does Jimmy Iovine Sound Like Mort The Jew From Family Guy Lmao…
And stay tuned for the first human clone, coming in 2013.
CANT WAIT!
I’ll believe it when I see it and hear a unleaked unfinished record. Anyone doubting the success on Dre’s behalf STFU please? Do you how many people don’t listen to HipHop but fuck w/ Dre’s shit? You’d be surprised!!
Nahright says Under Pressure is dropping Friday
lol so jay is featured on the track, ester dean did the hook and scott storch potentially produced it, so where exactly does dre fit into any of that??! dre slaps his name on the track like he masterminded it when in fact he doesn’t even write his own rhymes, and yet people claim this will be an epic album, based on what exactly??! other artists and producers besides dre??! LOL :DEAD:
Like I have said many times before I will believe it when I see it! Anybody got a youtube link so I could see what specifically Dre says though!
Jimmy Iovine is my fuckin idol, when it comes to this music shit he’s got it on lost. His hand is indriectly involveed with all of it. Hate him or love him, mothuafucka been around and it don’t look like he’s leaving anytime soon.
he used 50 for every cent he’s worth while promtoing an up in comping aritst he was perfectly able to align with the west coasr dr. dre. he’s got Em, which no matter what he does(though it damn near impossble for it to be bad) can sell close to 2mill no matter what the econmomy looks like.
Interscope has placed there flag at the top of the hill again. There’s not an artist worth talkin about that’s not somewhat associated with that label….
other then my nigga J.Cole, Get familier!, lol.
beats ear buds kept slipping out of my ears while on the tred mill. I returned them. V Moda makes the best ear bud for my life.
detox will come out when tupac returns………………..
NEVER because ‘Pac is dead!
but real talk though:
I’ll be interested as soon as I hear that first single…
Yo for real though the best time to release detox was in 2005. It would’ve been 6 years after Chronic 2001 and I’ll tell you why it would’ve been hot.
The late 70′s and early 80′s babies like myself would’ve loved it no matter but it’s the kids who are now in the their early to mid 20′s that were teens in 2005 that would’ve caused the sales of that shit to skyrocket to 7x platinum.
In 2005 we saw the release of The Documentary, it had 5 or so Dre beats. Then The Massacre which sold a bucketload and had Dre beats and Dre mixing tracks. Of course on top of that you had Eminem’s Encore so it would’ve been the perfect wave to ride and complete a home run after having Game, Em and 50 on base.
I am positive that Aftermath would’ve been on fire then and dre could’ve then released Lamont, Eve, Rakim, Stat Quo and Ortiz and further that domination going into 06 and beyond.
He’s fucked up a massive opportunity to make an album to do Eminem Show type numbers and he’s to blame. Because with Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit firing back then he could’ve had a guestlist of: busta rhymes, nas, game, 50, eminem, raekwon, snoop, nate dogg and the like.
I think it’ll still go platinum but honestly it’s not going to break barriers because right after the time where he should’ve dropped it, shits fallen off from there.
He has his last chance around the time of Carter 3, Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige doing 600-1million in 1st week sales back in 08/09
da single drops april 9th
any chance this is gonna drop today??
^^^^
prolly not but i really hope it does. getting pretty tired of hearing shit is coming out just to find out at the end of the day it didnt
heard this is gonna get played live omorrow at coachella
oh yeah? well i heard that detox is going to be released the day after under pressure is released. so you just got me really pumped up.
btw if you are right anth0 owes you a bj
CONFIRMED dre was at souund check tonight for coachella its coming mann
