get out of here with that Common fell off bullshit. UMC was insane. He drew inspiration from Afrika Bambaataa, and brought his music in a different direction. The sign of a true artist is versatility and being able to make different sorts of music.
First Of all I agree with Joey D. I think too many listeners are hypocritical we say we won’t creativity but claim an artist fell off because of an album in the same effort. UMC was akin two a hour shit in a crowded club when you have to go. That shit was just plain uncomfortable to deal with yo. AND it was wack.
yea i was there too, as soon as i saw this posted I laughed. I was yelling out Boeheim…it was cool he at least threw it in there regardless.
I aint saying he fell off… but UMC wasnt good. He obviously spent about 10 mintues making each song. Versatility is good, but being able to make shitty albums along with the good ones does not count as a different type of music, making him “versatile”
