“I’m working on Eminem’s album still, so I’ve gotta hurry up and get back to Detroit,” Just said. He was fresh off the turntables at club Grand Central during the Fool’s Gold party in Miami, where he spun a two-hour house set. “I’ve been back and forth — Detroit, New York, Detroit, New York, Miami, back to Detroit — for like the past two and a half weeks. [The album], it’s getting there, but we still got a lot of work. So I wish I could stay [in Miami] longer.”
Blaze says he’s sworn not to reveal too much about Eminem’s album, but he’s already calling it a classic, one of the ultimate efforts in Slim Shady’s storied catalog.
“As far as what’s going on in Detroit, a lot of good music is being made,” Blaze said of Em. “He’s really back spitting. The wordplay is crazy, the metaphors are crazy. He’s really back on his game. He had his ups, he had his downs, he’s back way, way, way up. This is definitely going to be up there with the best of his albums, for sure, for sure. The fact that he’s branched out working with a lot of different people now, collaborating in a lot of different ways that he never has before, I think he’s going to surprise a lot of people.” – MTV

relapse could have been better….i just think he rushed it….now for relapse 2….that on the other hand is going to be a classic….u have to admit em was rusty when he made relapse….but i think the rust has worn off….dont count him out yet, just cuz of relapse….dre failed him on the beats also…its a good thing hes trying new producers….DONT SLEEP….

I agree with the other comments Relapse was horrible. I thought Kingdome Come was bad but Relapse was just really awful. It was almost like Em wasn’t motivated to make great music he just wanted to get his name back out in the public or something. There is no way he put 100% effort into Relapse and if he did then he needs to walk away from music.

I was one of the ppl calling Relapse trash and shit back when it came out but then after they re-released it i listened to it again with a open mind and realized it wasn’t as bad as i thought. Its not as good as his classic one’s but its a decent LP. His wordplay is easily at best in this album and as long as u understand its just him pretending to be a serial killer its not bad at all.
Just better have at leasr 7-9 joints on this!
@YOU IDOLIZE, Al has said Mr. Porter has one or two on relapse 2. Alchemist said he hasn’t found the right sound yet, and that he hasn’t landed any joints on the album yet. Dissapointing i know. In the meantime, listen to the Chemical Warfare title track, and Getback off the Tony Touch album if you wanna hear Em over ALC.

You gotta take relapse for what it is, it was meant to be a super technical rap album that went over the top. listen to the technical aspects of the rapping without listening to the subject matter and in that sense it was great. Now eminem is back to constructing real songs and an actual album.

Relapse jump started mainstream hip-hop for me. But eminem always brings forth his image, no matter how crazy it may seem to the public at first.

Encore went over most folks ahead. Though, sonically it felt like more of the same.
While I enjoyed Relapse as a concept album, I was disappointed when he said it was supposed to be comical. So, it wasn’t conceptual and thus he takes an L for thinking most of the album was comical and spitting stupid shit.
Based on his recent features and Just Blaze having a larger hand i’ve got higher spirits.
