How is this not a Random Act of Fuckery!?
i watched this show a couple of weeks ago with my kids… btw mad celebs are doing “yo gabba gabba”…
hahahah love the jerry curl…lol “team work teamwork”!
no joke, if Mos made a lullaby album I’d probably download it.
He looks cool even doing childrens TV
LMAO! This fool is crazy. That’s why I like Mos. He can have fun
*cough* sell out? *cough*
Mos likes to encourage “keepin it real.” Hard to take him serious when he’s wearing Spandex on Nick Jr. Right up there with Lonnie in the ridiculous category.
*Puts gun to head*
:|…this is hella jkz but….:|
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
¡lol meka
“jesus cristo” hahahahah4
mos def ,youg got it ! educates children
the roots, biz markie, tony hawk, jack (his episode… classic) and more have been guest…
stupidly kidding.. .lucky,he doesnt appear with a blunt haha
no no,really mos def,youre right
He shoulda wore the superhero suit from Chapelle show, but kept the loafers LOL
yo YOU IDOLIZE REAL RAP BANDIT put up some links or tag me, cause there is nothing wrong. It’s just odd to see mos like this. I mean, entertain the kids flaco.
google yo gabba gabba son… that is the biggest kids show right now…
oh

Meka, save me some of your special punch. I take mine with extra cyanide.
http://yogabbagabba.com/#
theres footage of the roots and biz markie on the show…
Fabolous said he dressed up in a character suit for his sons birthday.. Good on him.
I bet DOOM or Madlib are gonna sample this hahah. the three of them are good friends.
Mos Def is for the kids!
selling out? is this not the same thing as people appearing on sesame street?
The Mighty Mos>>> your real and internet life
Ahahahahahah, mos def is the man. and @fresnokid, what is your definition of selling out? How would YOU know that he sold out? Sensory vs perception, think about it
@FresnoKid, Sellout? You do know that he STARTED out as an actor first, right?
LMAO!
*mind you, i didn’t press ‘play’ yet
uptight crackers… mos having no inhibitions and doing something for the kids is ‘keeping it real’, everyone needs to chill out
“selling out? is this not the same thing as people appearing on sesame street?
The Mighty Mos>>> your real and internet life” @Huey P. Martin cosign
Mos Def is officially a sell out. he might as well now go into doing gay porn for a living.
So if Mos Def makes a guest appearance on “House” it’s cool. But he decides to have fun and do somethin for the kids and all of a sudden he’s “Selling Out?”
Yeah, you’ve got this shit all scoped out homie…
What The Fuck Mos
Haha my baby sister loves this show. But foreal though he’s a sell out cuz he makes a guest appearance on a show for kids?
I think this is a good look. There is nothing wrong with Mos doing this because he has never portrayed himself as a gangster or anything. He has also done other funny roles and has always come across as witty guy. So this isnt selling out in any way shape or form. Nothing wrong with being a Cameo on a children’s show.
Mos Def loves the kids. I don’t see anything wrong with this.
meka proves again why he’s the useless half of the 2db.
to those who think sell out… this is investing into the future… this here opens up a audience for the next 20 years… you cannot get mad at someone who is going to be legendary… this will be some kids first impression of mos… besides those of you who bump b.o.b. – nothin on you with a bunch of dudes in the car… that’s gay… this isn’t… plus he don’t give a fuck on what you think and he will serve you and your favorite emcee… 100
waits for “wutang is for the children” yo gababa special.
^^^lol@all the above comments
if this was any1 but MOS u would be puttin down ur usual comments of hate. STOP NUT HUGGING MOS.
I highly doubt that will happen because not only did he not leave his name… His the audience of that show is too young even know what good music even sounds like. So by the time they do become old enough to understand, they will not remember that episode or even who was playing Mos Def’s character.
However, it may have taken some notice on parents who know who Mos Def is and after watching that they may look into who he is and may stumble on a song they like. I think thats more likely.
lol so awesome. :P wooooo!!!!
Mos Def gettin his Lawrence FishBurn CowBoy curtis on LMFAO.
This show is so crazy when you watch it on shrooms. Me and some friends watched an episode where MGMT played space pirates singing the ABCs, craziest shit ever!
this was funny to me and i don’t have a problem with it but like London said if this was somebody else yall would be calling for his head and shit.. and im really just talking about Rap Bandit lol
Look at the guest appearances for Yo Gabba Gabba. they get EVERYONE.
How is Mos going on a kids show selling out? Nothing wrong with being a good influence on kids and educating them.
hahaha god damnit mos, this is kinda dope.
yall dont know about Yo Gabba Gabba?! Mad guest celebs come through that show. Biz Markie has a thing on that show where hes on like every other episode or something like that. Mos is dope for doing this lol
man he probably got a fat ass check for that
Him being on a kids show does not diminish his skills as an MC. Who cares, he gets money and entertains kids.
Despite the misinformed retardation ensuing in the c-section, there’s about 30 comments I DO want to cosign.
But this one sums it up:
“meka proves again why he’s the useless half of the 2db.”
supadupa said this on April 1st, 2010 at 4:09 pm
that was fucking hilarious
wait you quit cause mos is on a kids show? What type of ass backwards shit is that? Whats wrong with showing kids a hip hop artist doing something fun? the only influence they are showed are jewels and cars, hoes, and money. Yeah thats waaay better….Ah Meka. You continue to fail…
“selling out? is this not the same thing as people appearing on sesame street?
The Mighty Mos>>> your real and internet life”
This and:
“man he probably got a fat ass check for that”
probably not
Gucci Loafers FTW.
Meka has been raising the bar for failure for a minute now. He’s like the Kobe of that shit.
This shit was funny..saw this when my 3 year old was watching…they get a lot of Hip Hop on there…they had Roots, Mos Def, and they got Biz Markie…weird show but good to see Hip Hop with the kids.
Give me a fuckin` break. This is a kids show. I think it`s dope that real hip hop is reaching out to the youth in many different ways. My kids watch this show and I rather have a positive artist on there than some bullshit clown. There is no selling out when it comes to educating the youth. So The Roots are sell-outs too?
*eats popcorn n watches the prostest over nothing*
ok this is what u call selling out.
he professes to be all about fighting the system but he does somehting like this? are u for real mos? u did the estactic. n u do this ? wtf
wen are artists really gonna hold to their integrity. he is down with the mind numbing capitalist system thats seeking to suck our kids in at an earlier and earlier age. lets wake up people n support real artists who actually stand by their word.
its all about gullah gullah island
If half of y’all knew what you were talking about you’d know that Yo Gabba Gabba is an educational kids show. Dj ILL amongst others here know what’s up. Since when is teaching teamwork to kids a joke? You know what is a joke, your attitude.
>Meka has been raising the bar for failure for a minute now. He’s like the Kobe of that shit.>
if you’re gonna insult me, how about using a ball player that actually hasn’t won a championship? saying i “fail like kobe” makes absolutely no sense. and this is coming from a c-boy who’s won an academy award. waitaminute…
>its all about gullah gullah island>
^^^THIS
Just did some research…
There’s like a celebrity on it everyday.
They’ve even had The Roots, Biz Markie and some other non-hip hop acts…
Calm down people
Serioussycho: Yeah capitalist machine preaching teamwork to young minds, great argument dude.
Meka: I do believe he means if there was a sport that was called failure, you would be the Kobe. Which is to say you would be up there in terms of skill level (at the game of failure).
lets not forget dre use to dress like a doctor(goffy lookin doctor)
but hey its for the kids….the show still freaks me out…. scary things
That’s good… but Mos Def is for the children!!!
Meka: I do believe he means if there was a sport that was called failure, you would be the Kobe. Which is to say you would be up there in terms of skill level (at the game of failure).

Thank you.
Meka, if there were a sport where you run around not understanding simple references and try to get shit to over your head, you’d be Ronaldinho.
go over*
I think that it is great that he did this. He had an opportunity to do something fun for the kids and he did it. Probably had a great time doing it. This is not selling out in the least bit. Nobody would have any idea that he was mos def unless they were already familiar with him.
Mos>>>>
>Meka, if there were a sport where you run around not understanding simple references and try to get shit to over your head, you’d be Ronaldinho.>
perhaps you should double check on your punctuation before trying to be smart. or better yet, perhaps you should actually think, “hey, maybe he’s saying this shit to bring a rise out of whomever is dumb enough to actually fall for it, and continually fall for it by willingly and constantly coming to his site each and every day to see it. i mean sure, i’m getting all of this free stuff, but it’s coming from a guy who really grinds my gears when he knowingly spews pseudo-unintelligent jibba jabba just to get the morons who are actually dumb enough to fall for it – such as myself – to speak out on it. but i’m gonna read this comment and come up with the perfect, snarky rebuttal to prove i’m not the one. or maybe, i won’t answer at all! yeah, that’ll get his goat. i am your conscience.”
or is that over your head?
lmaooooo @ his voice.. that really is mos def
yo if its for the kids then im all for it
some of yall are some real douche bags… too many to name.
Punctuation? I believe you’re referring to grammar. But good one, Meka. And I look at it as give and take, especially since you could post as much shit as you want, but if no one visits Shake’s site to see it, you’re not really winning. But your explanation is fantastic, too.
OcTo is behind this.
Yo Gabba Gabba = shit just got real x serious business
Going on a kids’ show like that and wearing weird clothes is the EXACT OPPOSITE of selling out. It’s an obscure role which opens him up to criticism from the entire industry. This is a win for Mos.
will smith played a gay person… he got his walk into hollywood for that… because on the real… if he did not do that… he would have been type casted as that prince tv role… get money mos
funny thing is my pops told me i don’t know anything about his music but he is a good actor…
i dont want to laugh but……why the hell is mos def on yo gabba gabba…shit like that scares me alot
it wouldnt have been so bad if he didnt look like blankman wit a jheri curl…but he’s still one of my fav rapper/actors anyway n lmao at George Clooney goin in on meka…jus let that man do his job lol
how is this selling out? I don’t get it. He’s originally an actor. The show isn’t against his message or his art. What does any of this have to do with the “system”? Why are hip hop fans dumbasses? This is exactly why Mos Def is NOT a sellout. What other MC would ever be able to fulfill this role? None. Mos’ message in his music: peace, love, happiness…which oh I don’t know was THE SAME MESSAGE AS THIS CLIP! get it together.
cosign GG, lakeshow & every1 else who agrees that its 4 the kids & its ACTING make believe, not real??? so i guess Jack Black, Amare Stoudemire, Tony Hawk, Sal Masakala, etc sold out??? (another form of acting such as many peoples street cred & realness & all the other BS fallacies we come up in the urban community 2 be cool) … Mos was straight coolin it w/ the character LOL… folk know they be clownin w/ they kids, lil brothers/sisters, nephews/nieces, etc… so i guess y’all sold out 2 in the comforts of your home… D.A.D’s
I’m kinda confused on what the hell Meka & Cloony are really arguing about, but uh, Meka gets props for using italics in his post. I still don’t know how the fuck to do that shit. Ima go watch this orl-dal game on tnt now.
What the fuck are all of you on about? He’s doing shit for a kid’s show.. that doesn’t make him a sell-out and many celebrities have been on this show.. so shut the fuck up. Stupid bitches.
oh and guys…this isn’t supposed to be take seriously. Lighten up…Mos having fun is “selling out” I guess.
do all you people arguing that mos didn’t sell out not realize that no one is arguing back?
… you all suck
lol mos def can do the gayest shit in the world and still have hardcore fans…see above comments
haha. selling out my ass? y’all and your beef with people doing whatever they want. god forbid it puts him on national television, smh. not like he got a lot of money from Yo Gabba Gabba. Mos is just being an artist, keep at it Black Dante.
mos def doing gangstaliscious on boondock is also a sell out i guess
Say what you want.
Yo Gabba Gabba is one of the best children’s show ever.
Mos Def for the kids!
Snoop has done it too
This is the definition of keeping it real.
Monkeys love us and so do you
Beautiful girls, all over the world…somethin somethin…they got nothing on youuuuuuuu
C.R.E.A.M… That’s all I’ve gotta say lol
And this is hilarious in every aspect
y is mos not a sell out?…cause no1 is surprised he’d do something like this… when someone portrays themselves one way THEIR WHOLE life and them does something you wouldn’t expect all for the sake of exposure and money…then yes…but we all know mos has stuff like this in him and he’s done stuff (relatively) in the same league as this…plus its for a good cause…how you gunna hate when someone does good? …and ACTUAL good for that matter
DA FUCK
everybody knows kids shows are made by a couple niggas who get high and lock themselves up n a room for an hour with a notebook.
Shit is no different than adult swim if you watch it high lol, so mos gets no points taken away.
this is hella weird
This shit was funny as hell
saw this show for the first time this past weekend…I must of said WTF like 30 times.
how come this this is wrong? but if kids look up too rap videos of rappers talking about guns sex violence and all that bs so its ok? im just saying
another career lost the monster known as
YO GABBA.
damn, nigga. DAMN.
—a dying metaphor—
“Selling out” refers to the compromising of one’s integrity, morality and principles in exchange for money, success or other personal gain. … Doing a kids show does not make the definittion appplicable. I think a lot of people don’t even know the definition of being a “sell out”. Doing a kids show for a check is NOT selling out because you’re not leading children astray. Now BET production 106 & Park makes every on that show a sell out.
Yo Gabba Gabba Is That Show Though…
this aint a sell out. it s comedy. its for children. this might be his childs or his nephews favorite show. ppl dont sell out when they go on sesame street?
ups to mos def. this shit was actually iight. and i hate that show. the kids who watched this are abot twenty percent cooler now.
Truth^ is on point
foreals though haha throw the Chef, or Ghost on this show.
Hold up… isn’t Mos Def an actor anyway?
Mos is the illest. He does whatever the fuck he wants and does not care. Real talk, and his monster is named starsky. He’s like a seventies superhero pimp. Mos doesn’t care if you think he sold out. Because there’s no such thing in his world. 24 hour karate school or kids TV shows, Mos is ill all the time.
Not his first time on the show. The Roots have been on here too. It’s a childrens show, so I respect that.
