A (2)Dope Fresh Daily Remix Contest pt.2

Since there was a delay with the first contest (congrats to SABeats for winning), we’ve decided to give one other person a chance to land a spot on the official Video Gamin’ digital single. All you’ve got to do is take a listen to both of the remixes below (chosen by Fresh Daily and Sucio Smash) and let us know which you like better in the poll below. Good luck to both.

  1. the chappelle samples were too funny

  2. Im better then both those guy even if I had an lady gaga between my thighs, They raps are so third grade like 89 and high top fades, call beyonce cause these scrubbs need an up grade, I hope the winner dont get signed or paid, Cause if they come out with an album Im turning roach and running screaming raid, or they rhymes probaly make me sick and I’ll die from AIDS. LOL

  3. mane these junts bumpin, hard to choose, post the mp3s please!!!!

  4. if i have 2 pick from these 2…the lesser of the 2 evils would be the 2nd…

  5. the 1st is a kickdrums beat, not feelin Beat Jacker

  6. finnese if you’re so good, why your myspace have 4 plays? fuck outta here, bitch

  7. ha i know right, that dude dumb, fuckin’ finnese. the 2nd one’s samples are tight but that 1st one is niiicee

  8. 2nd one tries WAY too hard… very amateur by putting every sound clip that came up in a “rap+video+game” google search… 1st one is aiight — OK, i get the mellow vibe so people can feel like they’re reminiscing, but its a little too mellow for the lyrical content… beat theif, you get my Process of Elimination vote.

  9. first one is slightly better…

  10. the second one tries hard, yes….but it succeeds, in my opinion. The sound clips are not simply just from a “rap+video+game” google search…..they actually go with each line he says.

What’s really impressive though, is that they all fall in place on the beat perfectly. Alot of cats prob couldn’t pull that off. ON top the fact the beat is also nostalgic sounding.

    Junkee def gets my vote.

  11. street fighter=ken>>>>

  12. I dont even listen to this dweeb but I like the concept. Still not worth my hard drive space but….

JC had a better concept, and beat thief had the track

    my pick is BEAT THIEF!

  13. I’m going with Junkee. I liked the sfx, but the chappelle samples were played out at times. The first one was cleaner and smoother to listen to, however, Junkee’s remix, at least with the video game sounds won me over.

  14. I listened to the first one and the vibe was so ill that I’m not even gonna listen to the second one. Lol. Lotta ppl hatin on em though. I don’t understand it…..guess ppl just have the dif. opinions

  15. i can’t say which one is my pick apparently, but I’ll say you guys have a good thing going here with the banter. I dig that y’all are definitely smart enough to be critical and not just hate for hates sake. awesome job.

  16. Damn Shake, I’m a Producer/Engineer myself and they were both dope from what I was hearing. However, I’m kinda feeling Junkee Carmichael because how he incorporated the Mario Bros. sound in the arrangement towards the end. And Beat Thief was good but that snare was aggravating a little, which tipped the scale towards Junkee.

  17. can we get the mp3s? beat theif is nice

  18. Can ‘t even vote, both take me to a place I like to be. Niiiiiice dudez!!

  19. Junkee Carmichael got this. I like bassline and the sample is funky. And most of all, the song got me moving. That beat thief remix didn’t move me at all. Nice beat but not for this song. The beat thief remix sounds too emotional with the trumpet sounds.

  20. yall serious. beat theif’s is wayyyyyy better. y’all should post that up regardless if it wins!

  21. The Junkee beat is better, the vocal samples are awesome. The Beat Thief joint uses that Kickdrums sample which doesn’t fit the song and is way too obvious.

  22. that sample is kickdrums? hm, didnt know that. beat thief…hm.

  23. I enjoyed Beat Thief (rmx) a lot. good to both producer

  24. hey y’all Beat Thief here – didn’t even see this posted – shame I ain’t winning lol – I gotta clear my name tho – the sample is “David Axelrod – The School Boy” for everyone sayin its Kick Drums, thanks to everyone that showed love, and vote for me again lol ;-) peace BT

ps Junkee’s remix is hard tho, said that originally – s’all luv !

  25. Good lookin for the comments, positive and negative. That Finesse dude is hilarious. And “waaaaaay better”? Well, anyway I’ll be posting an original video for the track as well as a link to my remix album on here this weekend if anyone is interested.

  26. Who is this Diamond D dude? Jacked the shit out of the Kickdrums and Beat Thief for this one.

  27. man that kickdrums beat just dont go… maybe because ive listened “its just a game” way too much… but still… doesnt go

  28. After listening to both I have to say I prefer Beat Thief’s.But why are you guys hatin’ on him? It’s 1 thing to say you prefer Junkee’s rmx but another to make negative comments completely unrelated to music, just ’cause you never made the cut. Junkee’s videogame sounds to me seemed a bit overcooked. I did like the outro though. That was very creative. As for the rest of it, I think he tried too hard.

  29. lol @ Cokeboy! that’s HILARIOUS!
    good point!

  30. right, let’s keep it all subjective to the music and no hate plz.

  31. I choose Junkee Carmichael, I don’t like all the samples in it though, but it still had a nice vibe

  32. Junkee Carmichael wins this easily! Great samples and the nostalgia you feel when hearing all of the throwbacks like Super Mario World. Loved it.

  33. Here’s the link to the video I did for the track.

  34. Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love studying more on this topic. If doable, as you achieve expertise, would you mind updating your weblog with further info? It is extremely useful for me.
