I’m gassed for Fashawn’s upcoming project, an ode to Illmatic, especially after hearing this shit. Props to XXL.

  1. FASH! he’s ill.

When She Calls….such an ill cut from his album

  2. I just listened to Boy Meets World twice in a row this morning. Fash is definitely among my favorite rappers right now.
I love that he’s doing this cause his album makes me feel like I’m listening to Illmatic

  3. Hell yeah my niggas. this some good music right here.

  4. When is this project droppin god damn I didn’t think anyone could get at this track like az and nas but these 2 did it justice big fash woooo

  5. Shit nice, this is how you do a tribute mixtape

  6. dope…Fashawn never ceases to amaze me…Elzhi your gonna have competition on the Illmatic tribute…

  7. fashawn definitely channeled nas with that verse..looking forward to hearing more from this tape

  8. Wow dude just gave me memories wit that shit (only nigga in my elementary school rapping Nas down south lol)….need this Fashawn tape A.S.A.P.

  9. HOT

  10. Damn Fashawn Is Sick! Def Improved His Flow & Lyrics Since I First Heard Him In 2006… Looking Foward To This.. Boy Meets World Is Classic To Me…

  11. Wow, one of the dopest verses ive ever heard him spit. When is this shit gonna drop?

  12. this is dope as hell but no one can flow and rip this beat like nas and az do

  13. fuck wheres elzhis version, fash spit some ill shit on here

  14. havn’t listened yet, but one of my fav new school rappers and one of my fav old school rappers on the same track, DAMN! cant wait to listen

  15. Talib old school? Guess I gotta get used to that. Anyway Fash and him spit steaming hot fiya! Both came with it.

  16. Really dope how they stayed true to the lyrical content and structure of the original

  17. fash is a serious problem, young just like nas when he first started out too so i cant wait to see what he does next. hopefully he doesnt pick up nas’s ear for beats though lol

  18. fashawn cemented himself in my eyes with his mixtapes and his album as one of the best same with blu.
I like drake and i really like cudi but fashawn
fashawn and blu and exile these guys are the leaders of the new school. If we lived in a perfect world these dudes would be blowing up and representing our culture not lil wayne and others who present a moronic lane of life
one that helps destroy our society
u either build or destroy where you come from

  19. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I have no interest in hearing rappers emulate other rapper’s flows on classic songs. I mean, If I wanna hear that, i’ll listen to the original. EIther do your own thing on the beats or leave em the fuck alone.

I like Fash and Elzhi, but I don’t want either Illmatic based project if thats what they gon do. I’d much rather hear them rip up some newer beats or make original music.

  20. Fresno’s In The Dope House..

  21. man..Fashawn and Kweli. I can say hip hop is in great hands.

  22. fash is fuckin doooope! can’t wait for this project.
    he killed “memory lane” too.

  26. yeah whats good with elzhi’s elmatic?

  27. vote yes on the legalization of marijuana….. in every state

  28. why would you wanna get compared to nas bro do your own thing i remember when you used to dress like a east oakland cat hahaha idk man nas to me one hot album rest okay but had shitty beats and hes kinda over rated
