I’m a big Talib fan too…..but he ain’t Mos. Artists of Dante’s caliber just don’t come around too often. Dude is Hip Hop in every sense of the word. And “Taxi” is a crazy track. I liked whosane’s verse too. He put on a good show opening for Mos.

This type of stuff isn’t that big a deal, anymore, as far as all that “integrity of the artist”-type bullshit. You hear all kinds of different music in commercials and sitcoms and stuff like that. In fact, whoever’s in charge of that sort of thing at Quannum’s gotta be the king of that. I’ve heard my boy’s, Lifesavas, music on all kinds of commercials & shows & whatnot, along with other Quannum artist. I thought singling out this commercial was actually pretty random. I’m glad they did though cuz that woman’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen (LOL)!
I think the main point in the talib or mos convo is that talib is a great emcee. phenomenal even ( sometimes). While Mos is a phenomenal artist ( most, if not all the time) Mos def might be one of the most creative people on the planet, ever.

mos vs talib? i dont think thats necessary. i always preferred mos more but on black star they were equal. i dont know why cos they can both be draining at times but still very intriguing. loved the estatic i dont think theres 1 bad song on there.
also on the whole selling out thing. lol. artists of mos calibre are only seen as “sellouts” if seen with brands with a negative corporate image (deforestation, exploitation, bad health practice etc) i dont think palm phone has 1 yet. but no1 really raises the roof about it anymore. i remember wen common first had those gatorade/gap commercials. that could be deemed selling out casue they have a known negative business practice past.
but everything is about consumption these days. that has gone from peoples minds now.
