To be honest I haven’t heard any freestyle over this beat better than Gucci’s. You guys have to take into context Gucci is the embodiment of an entire generation, his flow and lyrics will be looked back upon as what these times were like. The same way we look at Big or Bob Dylan for example they came from nowhere but conquered. I would say to anybody who always put his down is being close minded, and hasn’t took the time to analyze what he is saying with a beat that intoxicates to brings in listeners. He is Top 5 today like it or not these new rappers on the XXL don’t have the charmisa, the youth backing, and talent to make a good overall artist like Gucci. The others are just punchlines dudes Gucci has stories of drugs, overcoming, acheiving, beating the odds but he doesn’t need all the punchlines just like Pac didn’t. Take the time out and really listen to State Vs Radric Davis you might have completly different perspective I promise.

i actually thought Lemonade was Gucci’s best showing. His flow was good and he rode the beat well, something that is really a lost are nowadays. You can barely understand what the man is saying but the flow was still smooth on the beat.

Gucci is one of the Top 5 popular rappers rite now, but that means absolutely nuthin about his skill as a rapper. yea pac wasnt a wordplay master but his energy/charisma on tracks made up for it in a lot of ways. plus he had positive messages behind some of songs, singles nonetheless. I understand gucci has a significantly smaller catalog as of now but still, ALL he has is stories of drugs and thats his calling card to success. plus gucci sounds quite uninterested on his songs (full disclosure: i have heard all of 5 gucci tracks, so i am speakin from a somewat ignorant place). i thought bein a good rapper meant u had some sort of ability to tell a story or state a message in a interesting manner(aka swag) either using wordplay, emotion, a catchy flow, or a mixture of the bunch. tell me where he fits any of those criteria.
and trey’s version of this is cool. not great, not horrible. and i think his bein an RnB artist is why his remixes are better than some songs; he has a better ear for melodies/harmonies and jus puts some decent punchlines in.
