1. Lasers and TML are gonna be two completely different albums, one’s a debut..
2. They’re completely different rappers. Lupe is more on the lines of metaphors, while Drake is more quick wordplay. Both are good, but you can’t compare.
3. If this track had leaked with no anticipation or hype whatsoever, ya’ll would be praisin’ it. It’s dope. Beat is crazy and lyrics are pretty on point for Drake.
4. Lil wayne is NOT Drake’s dictator. Drake under Young Money has full commercial control over every single one of his releases. Thats why his deal was so good. Drake is being Drake.
Stans need to chill, it’s not the best song ever made. It’s a solid radio single, if it is that. Haters need to chill, it’s not bad either.

I dont know about you guys, but this works for me as a single.
Real talk though, it’s too soon to judge the album from this track alone. it does set a familiar pace, so he can take the audience to somewhere out of the comfort zone, when the actual album comes out. Or maybe im just over thinking things…

By the way, there’s a difference between hating and legitimately not liking it. Hating is giving an UNSUPPORTED or WEAKLY supported opinion. If you say “I hate this song because it’s so commercial” then you’re hating because you’re not going off the content but what it, against its own will, represents. If someone like XV, J. Cole or even Jay Electronica drop the EXACT same song, it’d be (DOPE) to everyone.

Something about Drake’s shit is that it’s always more than just the sum of its parts…the lyrics here are nothing outstanding, in fact they’re pretty pedestrian, and the beat is real dope but not mindblowing. But altogether, it just works, I don’t know if it’s his voice, flow, charisma, cadence, probably some combination of all that…something those punchline rappers can never seem to figure out- not everybody can make a hit, and Drizzy has shown he’s one of the select few who can. If TML is full of joints like this I’ll buy two copies.

I have to agree with iginlafire. Drake is obviously not the best rapper that is. I mean I love the guy, but lesbihonnnnnest! Whats cool though, is that its not about that. Drake has smtg, dont ask me what it is, but the guy is very witty with his lines and in every song, we always remember this one line (or verse) that we’ll end up quoting. He seems like a decent guy, raps better than average, sings alright and he’s got that “it” factor. He’s got it all…for now.
We have to make peace with the fact that Drake will probably never make another Room for Improvement or Comeback season.
As for the new song, I think it’ll grow on us. I mean obviously it will be #1 because its a Drake song, blablabla. But really, being #1 means nothing. Best I ever and Successful were NOT – in my opinion – the best songs on So far gone and yet they got the most buzz. I think Drake knows very well that he has a lot to prove. Im really feeling the song as a whole more so than individual lyrics or beats. Granted, if you threw those same lyrics over another beat I would feel iffy, but I have to admit Boi 1da and drake have an chemistry. If you cant relate Hip hop to modern music and dont see my perspective, you need to pick up both the roots album by curtis mayfield and the house of the holy by Led Zeppelin. Ontop of that, educate your mind with some rite of spring(stravinsky) and some stuff off of the “come home with me” album. Drake is still somewhat hit and miss with me with my own preference of music, but I respect the hell out of his shit and understand the machine that is Drizzy drake. Keep doing what you do and let the copycats follow suit(yes stack bundles reference)
