downloaded Big Sean’s whole flow.
I’ve already said it once… Big Sean just uses that flow ALL the time. Wayne was doing it back on C2, he’s just versatile and switched it up so you didn’t associate it w/ him.
And I don’t get why people think last years was that much better, it was a ton of talent that hasn’t been able to do anything. Wale’s album was a huge disappointment compared to his mixtapes, Asher got outshined by his production, Charles Hamilton defined waste of talent, Blu wasn’t really a freshman anyway because he already had a classic under his belt, Factz disappeared, I still don’t know who Ace Hood is, who actually cares about Cory Gunz? CurrenSy smoked weed, then rapped about it, Cudi actually made a decent album, and B.o.B was working on his and caught in label limbo. So out of that list we had about 2 1/2 success stories, great list.

Donnis is a decent emcee… where he shine’s is listenable music… J.Cole is way better lyrically & Light’s Please is definitely a classic song & better than Gone, but after that song, what other classics does he have? Star Is Born? I think this list will be more successful than last years list, but not that much. Big Sean, Wiz, J. Cole, & Nipsey Hustle can make some noise with the right promotion. Where I stay ppl don’t even know about any of these emcees so they gotta step they weight up as far as buzz goes. Sadly, a few of these emcees will fade away like the one’s on last year’s list… just not a fan of that super lyrical monotone rap. XV should of definitely made the list…

We can give Big Sean all the props we want but I disagree he pioneered that style. That Freestyle, although not his best, actually goes back to his stylistic roots…Have any of you heard him on The Kidz in The Hall song Mr.allofthatshit (off “The In crowd” album) or anything from Donnis dating back more than a year ago? If you have you will know he is not bitting Big Sean at all, he is merely doing his old thang. Better Bars would have been appreciated though.

All these “Hip-Hop heads” keep saying that Donnis stole Big Sean’s style but Multi’s are a trademark of Detroit Rap. Many rappers have done it way before Sean. Just because Donnis did it does not mean anybody is jocking anybody. Elzhi, Royce, Em and many other rappers from the area do that.
I also think these aren’t freestyles. I think all of them are lyrics from some of their songs. I escpecially have a feeling I heard that Wiz verse somewhere. Just no beat.

They are basing this year off people who will actually do something. Last year they only a couple of them made it mainstream. One (Roth) only had one song people wanted to listen to and all the other ones people didnt give a chance to listen to. And the last (Wale) is still struggling to stay in the lime light. Everybody else either hasnt done much since the issue or havnt boosted their buzz as much as the issue should have.
So this issue they are trying to guarantee that this year the people who make it will actually go mainstream and remain relevant.
I like Donnis. I think he is decent. But Decent is like incredible for todays standards. He is also signed to Def Jam and the South is still running shit so you know they had to put him out.
Def Jam I think is desperate for new talent. Why? I know a guy in my college who is an up and coming rapper and really isnt that good. He knows he isnt as good as he wants to be if he wants to make it big. He also wants to have a solid fanbase before he gets signed and go mainstream. So he has, believe it or not, been talking with Def Jam about a deal and he is reluctant to signing. And its been a while. Which means they are desperate for new shit.
