Gangsta Gibbs and Fashawn did the most work on this shit, to be honest Gibbs’ running mate Pill was one of the worst and I was hoping that Hu$$le would have done his thing a little more. But honestly, the artists I like/hope blow the most are Fash, Gibbs and Hu$$le so I guess im biased. Nicki Minaj is a disgrace to rap, all you dickriders of hers need to check real female MCs instead of a wack leaned out Weezy sound a like.

Seems like people are overlooking Freddie Gibbs because he’s on that G shit. Don’t kid yourselves. Dudes delivery & flow are on another level. Gibbs & Fashawn are easily the best on this silly list.

why is the term “Freestyle” thrown around so liberally in the Hip-Hop community. Can someone shed light on this? I always though “Freestyle” meant improv lyrics or “off the top”…in other words a spontaneous rhyme made up on the spot…This is DEFINITELY NOT a freestyle but a written verse (which is usually the case with “freestyles”). Dope verse indeed, but this is starting to become an annoying misconception in hip-hop.

The misconception is that freestyles are only impromptu, when people back in the day freestyles were often written before hand. It simply meant that instead of rapping about a certain subject matter, you would rhyme about anything, basically what people do today. It’s just that we associate it with going from the top of he dome.

Everybody needs to look at this list for what it is: an over-glorified publication of who they(probably, mainly people invovled with the magazine) consider to be more notable as far as artist. Because, if it were up to the fans, people like Drake would have been up there last year. Im pretty sure that if it were up to the fans this year, it would be a lot different. People shouldn’t let this get them so upset.
