Lil Wayne: Don’t Worry If I Don’t Write Rhymes, I Write Checks (Video)

No, he didn’t actually say that, but that play on Diddy’s “Bad Boys 4 Life” line came to mind while I was watching this clip off that Nino Brown flick that’s out now.

  1. thats jokes, i didnt understand the diddy play on words until he started rhyming….jesus, thank god he’s going away for a year

  2. I’m really not sure how or why that line would come to mind while watching that clip. It’s no secret that Weezle’s had his fair share of ghostwriters/collaborators (while a larger percentage of that shit more than likely comes from his own head), but I really don’t see where you’re going with this shit, Meka.

  3. Nino brown part wasn’t bad either, better than that carter doc disaster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtoPdehGFXw

  4. LOL,no need to explain urself Meka, either they get or they don’t!

@Mick,ur a piece of shit,if u thank w/e God u believe in that anybody goes to jail,I hope u die a fiery death u fuckin loser,I normally don’t like the guys music but I just chose not to listen to what i don’t like, that don’t mean I’m gonna wish someone goes to jail just because I don’t like ur music…and U don’t even KNOW the guy!

  5. Yes because whenever any rapper flubs their lines that means that someone wrote it for them… yeah that makes sense…..

  6. darryle

Its been proven multiple times that Wayne doesn’t write his own rhymes. The clip of him fucking up the line is what brought that back to mind for Meka.

  7. I think he comes up with most of the generic shit on his own. As a well known example, his Cannon verse, while not entirely remarkable from a LYRICAL standpoint, doesn’t sound like something he couldn’t come up with on his own. And if you really think about the pauses, his cadence, the stupid laughing in between lines…that shit’s hard to do while you’re spittin ghostwritten bars.

I don’t consider myself a fan, but it’s a lazy assumption to assume that EVERYTHING this dude spits is written for him.

  8. Jesus

well its a small version of slander…or just hate whenever a hip hop artist makes it is what makes it annoying…i’m not the biggest Lil Wayne fan or anything… but i’m against all types of this in the hip hop community….

hip hop fans do ANYTHING to bring down one of its members

i swear, only in Hip Hop

    Pathetic

ps… the amount of “ghostwriting” lil wayne has done is debatable

  9. I’m gonna have to agree with darryle.

The line he was struggling with in the clip seemed more like shit he was trying to put together in his head on the spot than something he was trying to remember.

  10. Im not saying bringing him down is a good, Im just saying Meka never said he couldn’t rap, he just said that clip just brought that Diddy line to mind.

  11. if he has a ghostwriter it most be the same one for the past 3 years or so, and wayne puts out too much material to have his rhymes ghostwritin. If he does have ghostwriters, they’re a waste because wayne to me has never said anything hard enough to make me think “somebody had to have written that for him”…people acting like he’s a lyrical beast, he’s had a few dope lines and songs or whatever over the years but isn’t the point of a ghostwriter to have the best lyrics possible that you can’t write for yourself? Just don’t see where the ghostwriting notion comes from

  12. lmao i thought nigga was having a seizure in the booth at one point… but yea thats what that nigga does all the time when he says he doesnt write down lyrics…he says a line then goes back and does it over again until he likes it and then says another line and just repeats that process until he like the final product… now im pretty sure ppl have gave him suggestions and lines to say in many songs but i doubt anybodies written a whole rap for him…but idk, the Carter 1 and 2 are so far ahead lyrically of what he spits now maybe im wrong lol

  13. IS IT ME OR IS WAYNE READING OFF THAT SHEET OF PAPER @ 44 SECONDS????

  14. IS IT ME OR WAS WAYNE READING OFF THAT SHEET OF PAPER AT 44 SECS?

  15. hahahahahaha meka you are so lame…its okay that your jealous, you dont need to try and put down rappers to feel better buddy

  16. Seriously, dead this ghostwriter shit.
    He doesnt have one.
Im sure if you freestyled everything on spot, youd forget some too if you were going over it. he was making up lines as he was going too.

  17. lil wayne is the best. just becus he looked at that peper doesnt mean he was rapping off it… he raps watever comes to hiz mind
